Obama rallies in Ohio

CLEVELAND, Ohio (CNN) – President Barack Obama on Sunday implored Democrats to get out and vote this week in his final campaign speech for the upcoming congressional elections.

With his party expected to lose seats in both chambers, and perhaps its House majority, Obama told a rally at Cleveland State University that the only way to ensure continued policies intended to help working-class Americans was to keep Democrats in power.

Obamas host Halloween at the White House

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama welcomed area students and children of military families Sunday to celebrate Halloween at the White House.  Joined by his wife, Michelle, the president handed out treats to the gaggles of costumed children gathered on the lawn. Neither the president nor his wife dressed up.

The trick-or-treaters - ranging in age from 6 to 14 - were from schools in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas, the White House said.

Obama does cable

(CNN) – Some cable television viewers will see a commercial from President Obama beginning Saturday.

The 30-second spot, paid for by the Democratic National Committee, will air on MSNBC and BET and features a speech by the president that lays out the stakes in Tuesday’s election, according to a Democratic Party source.
