WASHINGTON (CNN) - From disagreements over his new budget proposal, to the continuing turmoil in the Middle East, it was another busy week at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Obama’s LEGO lesson

HILLSBORO, OREGON (CNN) - In an ongoing effort to push innovation, job creation, and a new relationship with the business community, President Obama toured the Intel facilities in Hillsboro, Oregon, and learned from young math and science students how his boyhood LEGO towers are a far cry from their bio-medical LEGO robots.

“I used to build some pretty mean LEGO towers when I was a kid,” the president told an audience of mostly Intel employees.  “I thought I could participate, only these students used their LEGO’s to build models, to build robots that were programmable, to model brains that could repair broken bones.”

Obama names Otellini to advisory council

Obama names Otellini to advisory council

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) - Intel CEO Paul Otellini will be named to President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, a White House official said Friday.

President Obama named General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt as the group's chairman, and other members are expected to be named in the coming weeks.

FROM THE WHITE HOUSE:

In the morning, the President will depart San Francisco, California en route Portland, Oregon. The departure from San Francisco International Airport and the arrival to Portland International Airport are open press.

 In Hillsboro, the President will visit Intel Corporation where he will tour the world’s most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility with Intel CEO Paul Otellini. The President will also learn more about Intel’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs and will view student demonstrations by Intel Science Talent Search finalists. There will be travel pool coverage. Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks at Intel Corporation on the importance of out-educating our competitors in order to win the future. The President’s remarks will be open press.
