WASHINGTON (CNN) - A senior administration official tells CNN that when President Obama meets today with members of the special operations team that took part in the assault on Osama bin Laden’s compound— that will include Navy SEALs “directly involved” in getting bin Laden.
The official couldn’t say if all of the SEALs involved would be there—but that dozens of them would be.
The White House is not revealing any details, the official said, because the identities of the individuals involved are classified, as is their specific unit.
The president will spend “a fair amount of time” with them, the official said, adding that while this is not a formal debriefing, they could share with him details of the operation, in addition to Mr. Obama using the time to thank them.
