Obama keeps his Bieber promise

Add another task to President Obama’s job description: matchmaker-in-chief.

There’s word Monday that the president kept a big promise to Payton Wall, a 14 year-old Justin Bieber mega fan whose father was a victim of the 9/11 attacks.

Obama met Wall during his visit to Ground Zero in May and soon learned she was a big fan of the teen idol.

“I know Justin. Maybe I could set something up,” Obama told Wall then.

Turns out he could. Wall met Bieber last week while he was in New York and posed for pictures next to the pop star and a cardboard cutout of the president.

"It was so cool. I couldn't even believe it," Wall told the New York Post, adding Bieber made her more nervous than the president.

Yup – this is high priority. A no talent singer playing it up with a no talent president. Fix the economy you bozo! And ship this nit wit back to canada. He can be their headache.

Payton Wall got more than what she could ever dream and I am so happy for her and sorry she is without her father. Payton got 2 for one because Obama killed her fathers murderer, Osama bin Laden.

I'm glad President Obama was able to keep his promise and even though some of you will critize – Bless Justin Bieber for giving this girl some brightness in what must be difficult days without her father. As said in a previous post- Obama also kept another promise. He killed the man responsible for her fathers death.

Barry, let me remind you, three wars, high unemployment, credit card maxed out. Don't you think you could find something better to do with your time?

Have you heard of multi tasking? What is the President have to do with the fact you are not grown up enough to use your credit card wisely and not max it out? Jay let me remind you that you are an adult!

What planet are you on? Sure, I agree, Bush was no great shake, but Obama is even further "out there". Don't be so political that you can't see what's in front of your face!

I'm not an Obama fan (I hope he doesn't get reelected), but this was a good thing to do and acting like he has his priorities messed up is silly. From Obama it was probably 5 minutes of his time... tell a staffer to look into it and then give final approval when it is set up.

May be you should set your priorities straight too. Next time never sign up for credit cards that you can't pay off. It's characters like you who led us into this mess. Wanting to live lives that you can't afford. How is that pres. Obama's or ex Pres. Bush's problem?

      July 2, 2011 at 9:26 pm |

I'm with Jay on this one. We are in seriously bad shape as a country. He should just assign someone to do the "feel good" stuff while he tackles the serious problems. This story is completely irrelevant news. Its like putting what I had for dinner last night up on CNN.

Some of you are incredibly short on compassion, empathy, sympathy, good will, patience, kindness, consideration, intelligence. Wish there were a pill to help you. Life is a lot easier to live when you love more and hate less. So, vitamins may be a start. If you feel good, you do good. Get some rest. Get rid of the hate. Just makes you meaner.

I've had enough of a Celebrity in Chief! I'm very sorry this girl lost her Dad and happy for her that this happened. But this President seems to be overly preoccupied with the perks and clebrity of being President. He plays more golf and rubs elbows with more celebrities, appears on more talk shows. than any President ever. Face it America, you elected an inexperienced senator with no significant legislation in his name. He was not ready for the job and he proves every day that he is in waaaaay over his head. Let's let him retire and he can have his own show on the Oprah channel or something. Anything but running the country.

Your name says it all! You are misinformed. misled and mistaken. President Obama is not arrogant because he is intelligent, cool under pressure, caring and working WITHOUT cooperation from the GOP all purchased by corporation and Wall Street moguls who are trying to destroy the middle class. Why is this president held to higher standards than any other? Why has he met with such resistance from white men around the country? He was dealt a bad deck of cards by Bush and the GOP and now he must be a magician annd get us out of this mess faster than the time it took to get into it. A child left fatherless by 9/11 had a wish and he took the time to fullfill it. Give the man his props!

Some of you antagonists can't even accept a good jesture by this President as good without putting a drag on it! Hate, jealousy, envy, and biggotry! That's all it is; and real US AMERICAN patriots can expect this over-the-top wrathful whinning and boo-hooing until Barack H Obama leaves the Oval Office and more importantly moves out of the Whitehouse, period. Well, you 'oh po me's' have got 5 1/2 more years to cry! Stretch out your tears; save some for the next four, 'cause were gone! LOL! OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!

Three wars. Where have I been... W was asleep at the wheel 9/11, forcing us into Afghanistan. W steered the wrong way to Iraq for his oil company buddie. NATO is now in Libya – tell me how many American boots are on the ground there?

    June 27, 2011 at 2:50 pm |
    • jean2009

Thank you for pointing out that W. steered the wrong way. That is putting it mildly. After a few months I think the Bush Administration figured out Afghanistan was going to be one long hard slog. It is not exactly the venue where you can wave a flag and cry "Mission Accomplished"... His war profiteers wanted something to show for their time...so how about a bait and switch? Would the American people really care whether we find Osama bin Laden...wouldn't removing Saddam Hussein be easier? Well yes, taking Baghdad was easier but who knew their would be no WMD, and that we would get bogged down in sectarian violence and nation building?

And that is one take on the Bush failed presidency.

  15. yasmine

a very nice story.. great that the President remembered this young lady...

also.. our financial crises did not start Jan 29, 2009.... this mess was years in the making pre- President Obama... he got the job just in time to clean up the after shock of what the Bush Administration did to this country... with its "cowboy ways"... We went to war in Afghanistan...to get the Taliban without paying for that war... we then left our young people haning there with no plan and went after Saddam for his oil.. but used the US taxpayers money for that war.. and let the Iraqis keep their millions in the bank to grow intersest while the lies were spun.. to send our young people again in arms way...and while that was going on.. unpaid.. a prescription drug program was signed into law.. but oh.. again ..no money was allocated to pay for it.. and while that was going on.. oh... tax breaks were given to the rich without it being paid for...

you want to know why the middle class is shrinking, why your neighbors or friends or family members loss their jobs and can't find any work..... ask George W Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld...

What? How assinine! Action speaks louder than words! According to you people, you cons get a thrill out of announcing to the world and all of it's inhabitants that the Dems aka 'liberals' and 'progressives' accepted the policies that were laid out to them, and supported them by going along with the BUSH failed policies! How much 'respect' do you 'expect' us to give? You GOP cons have NOT afforded this President nor his administration the same respect, support nor courtesy! Only hate, envy and obstruction!

We Dems 'respected' Bush enough I thought! We 'respected' him enough to follow his lead all the way into IRAQ!! WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!?!? WHERE? WHAT HAPPENED TO HOSE WMD?? We respected him enough to follow is lead and accept his excuse to go into AFGHANISTAN!! OSAMA BIN LADEN?!? WHAT? WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO BIN LADEN? So how much more show of 'respect' did you really 'expect' BUSH to get from us? That 'respect' is the MAIN reason we've ended up in the mess we're in today, Deke!! REALLY??

    July 6, 2011 at 10:11 am |

Now if you really thought that if OBAMA would stop going on talk shows and playing golf, we wouldn't be in this mess, you are one disconnected person! You don't really know what happened do you? Did you just wake up from a coma or something? Our 'respect' for BUSH is why we're in this mess, Mister! Maybe if BUSH had been run through talk shows and stayed on the golf courses, he wouldn't have had time to devise such greedy plots for the personal gains of a few, and we wouldn't be in this mess!! STOP HATING!

Typical. Maybe he should apply for work as a matchmaker. Maybe he could even start a new service – match up bottom feeders who pay no taxes with his wealthy union friends, constituents, celebs and marxist supporters. Or here's an idea – he could try doing the job he's supposed to do. Nevermind, he's already proven he can't do that one.

I'm 17, and tbh. I cannot stand this country. freedom and all that jazz, good, great for you. Whats being done about our economy. He talks about it but everyone knows the president is a puppet to the government. he's only a public communications outlet. I don't care what any of you say, look it up. There's a hierarchy. This country was good in it's heyday, but now it's a society eating itself alive with debt, crime, and poverty. America won't last another 20. All these idiots at the White House do nothing, if you ask me, we shouldn't need those morons. And you'd think at this point, mankind would be mature enough and educated enough to look after itself without the need of the powers that be. It goes to show we've learned nothing from the past.
