Everybody's all a twitter about Obama's Twitter town hall

President Obama is taking his message directly to the people and once again is using social media to do it.  The first ever Twitter presidential town hall is set for Wednesday, July 6.  The White House tweeted the announcement this morning.  And amid continuing bad economic news for the administration, the focus of the town hall will be the economy and jobs. The live webcast will be held at the White House July, 6 at 2p EDT.  You can tweet your questions to #AskObama.

Earlier this year in April, the president held a similar town hall on Facebook with its founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Oh yeah I forgot when MPS lays off nearly 400 teachers. New York decides not to replace 2600 retiring teachers. Here in my own town many businesses are laying people off. Even a rehab program is laying off counselors with Ph.D's. Real unemployment is 22.1%. The 9.1% is a number adjusted to make things look better. Yeah the economy is much better. /sarcasm

      In
      1952
      President Truman
established one day a year as a
      "National Day of Prayer."
      ------------------------------------------

      In
      1988
      President Reagan
      designated the
First Thursday in May of each year as
      the National Day of Prayer.
      -----------------------------------------

      In June
      2007
      (then)
      Presidential
      Candidate Barack Obama
      declared that the USA
      "Was no longer a
      Christian nation."
      ---------------------
      This year
      President Obama
      canceled the
      21st annual National Day
      of Prayer ceremony
      at the White
      House under the ruse
Of "not wanting to offend anyone"

      ------------------------

      BUT... on September 25, 2009
from 4 AM until 7 PM,
      a National Day of Prayer
      FOR THE MUSLIM RELIGION
      was Held on Capitol Hill,
      Beside the White House.
      There were over 50,000 Muslims
      in D.C. that day.

      HE PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS!

      I guess it Doesn't matter
      if "Christians"
Are offended by this event –
      We obviously
      Don't count as
      "anyone" Anymore.

The direction this country is headed
should strike fear in the heart of every Christian,
      especially knowing that the
Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be
      converted, they should be annihilated.

@HOWARD -Tell another lie real quick....since this one is definitely a doozy, and lying seems to be your specialty. This is not the first time I've found you talking trash. You wouldn't know truth if it bit you on the backside.

Printed online for April 20, 2011 on The Presbyterian Outlook St Augustine Florida....website...for all to check your lie.

On Tuesday, April 19, 2011 (PNS) Presbyterian Church (USA) General Assembly Stated Clerk Gradye Parsons joined a group of religious leaders for the second Holy Week Prayer Breakfast at the White House hosted by President Barack Obama.

Obama is the first president to host a prayer breakfast in the White House marking Easter and the Holy Week.

The article by Jerry L. Van Marter is titled: "Parsons Joins Obama for Prayer Breakfast".

Listed are the people representing many churches including the director of the Tekakwitha National Catholic Church Council, and the Rev. T.D. Jakes, pastor of The Potter's House, a non-denominational 30,000 member church from Dallas.

And on the Los Angeles Times website for: February 3, 2011 in an article by Michael A. Mimoli
Obama Provides Insight into his faith at National Prayer Breakfast....this one was for lawmakers and religious leaders.

On February 4, 2010 President Obama spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington Hilton. You can watch the video of his speech online.

On April 6, 2010 President Obama spoke at the National Easter Prayer Breakfast, in the East Room of the White House.
The website is christianpost com. "Obama Hosts Easter Prayer Breakfast by Michelle A. Vu – Christian Post Reporter.

On June 16, 2009 he addressed the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast ...you can find this a reuters for June 16, 2009.

President Clinton hosted no Prayer Breakfasts during his 8 years.
President Reagan hosted one during his 8 year presidency. Which was a Rose Garden event in 1982.
President George H. W. Bush hosted one during his presidency....which was in 1989 in the State Dining Room.

On April 15, 2010 a federal judge ruled that the National Day of Prayer was unconstitutional. The Obama Administration was actually the defendant in that suit, arguing in favor of retaining the National Day of Prayer.

And if you will check your lie out at Snopes it will tell you that President Obama did not cancel the National Day of Prayer. He only changed the date for the White House Prayer Breakfast service to the week of Easter.

And there is no national Islamic Day of Prayer.

This isn't 1950 or 1980 even. We are living in new times. Time to catch up with the rest of us... The whole politically correct phenomenon started in the 90's and changed everything. Before that, people didn't care whether others were offended or not.

With over 13 years architectural experience, I know it takes time to build especially when what you are rebuilding was destroyed over a long period by the dummies we call the Republican party. If they think they have a chance to win in 2012, they most be smoking WEED.

Great, another distraction. Now he can tweet while fundraising and golfing. And on what planet is the economy getting better? It's not the GOP that won't admit it, it's the data. But don't worry, the press will continue to puff up this disastrous eceonomy. Oh, and be careful Dems, Harvard just released a study that claims Dems should not go to 4th of July celebrations because they only energize GOPers and may turn your kids into Republicans. Rather sad commentary of what Dems think of July 4th.

So sick of the government picking and choosing the questions. Remember when Obama looked foolish when he called on that retired servicewomen (who was African) told Obama she doesn't know why she voted for him because his policies are job killers not creators. So I guess the president doesn't wanna face people he just wants to hide behind a computer. Please Obama bring the change you promised, end the wars, lower taxes, get the dollar back to being worth a dollar, stop pointing fingers and do what's best for the country!!!! Do not bankrupt us!!!!

Gee maiki: S.Positive sounds very sane ...you on the other hand sound like you are doing drugs....and what's with the caps lock key...shouting again?

Gas price all time national average high was July 2008 at $4.11 per gallon. Factually gas was higher 15 times more often under Bush.
Highest national average gas price for 2011 $3.58...I actually saw gas for $3.13 a gallon last Monday.
We are paying considerably less per gallon than Europe. In Germany it is currently over $7.00 per gallon...but they have paid higher prices for fuel than us for ages.
I can remember when gas was 18 cents a gallon, but that was a long time ago.

Why not make sense and complain for the United States going green...that would at least kill two birds with one stone.
It would provide jobs building new technologies...provide cheaper fuel...a cleaner environment..that is a three-for

Since you seem to think this is not Bush's fault...I will guarantee you it is not Obama's fault either...and I don't blame gas prices on either one...

It is current world demand for a dwindling resource, OPEC pricing, unrest in the middle-east or mid-east wars...and commodity traders.

Food prices will go up due to increased cost of shipping...do you even have a clue as to how much it costs to fuel a 18 wheeler? Say the average truck has a 200 gallon tank...now fill that with diesel which costs more than regular or high-test...and that explains why your groceries cost more.

And yes, things are getting better. thanks to President Obama.

  9. Our Politicians are bought off!

I thought tax cuts for the rich were suppose to create jobs..sooooooooo where are they??? The fact of the matter is, republicans are corrupt liars who will say and do whatever it takes to get what they want.....and they count on brainwashed morons who will believe anything to vote for them. Pathetic and Sad!

If you ask me, and I know you won't, but your posts look 'drug related'! LOL! BTW, just a tip for you: You don't really want to get tangled up with Jean, OK?

Are illegal immigrants being stopped? NObama.
Is America better off than we were two and half years ago? NObama.
Vote YES for Republicans in 2012.

Yes, our economy is recovering...no thanks to the mess Bush made

Yes, unemployment is slowly coming down.... at least we didn't lose 2.6 million jobs this year like we did in 2008.

Federal Spending....look at the Bush record...
Type: Was Federal Spending Under Control Under Bush and you will get hits:
George Bush Biggest Spender Since LBJ -CATO/Liberty
U.S. Government Spending Under Bush Highest Since WWII
United States National Debt An Analysis of the Presidents Who are Responsible for the Borrowing...by Steve McGourty Oct. 14, 2008. Read from paragraph 16 on after the second chart.Starting with: "When President Bush 11 came into office in 2001."

Also type in your search engine: Obama Administration Cracks Down on Employers Who Hire Illegal Immigrants"
"Obama Administration Cracks Down on Illegal Immigration/ Deports Record Amounts....July 27, 2010 VisaJourney com The U.S. Immigration Community website. Deporting roughly 400,000 in 2010.

Is American better off than 2 1/2 years ago...you betcha...at least we are not losing 530,000 jobs a month...like the 2.6 million jobs shed in 2008....and the stock market is not in free-fall.

Vote Democrat in 2012, and don't go back to the failed policies of the past.

The current field of Republicans will get trounced in a general election...PERIOD. REpublicans overplayed their hand in the house ans Senate too. They are out of touch with most Americans, that is painfully obvious. I expect Obama to be re-elected and Dems to re-take the House. Hello Speaker Pelosi, how was your two year time off?

I back our President 100%. 4 years is not enough time to fix all of the problems that this country currently has and all of the daily issues that arise. Instead of fighting him every step of the way and criticizing everything, why don't we work together to help solve the nation's problems. Let's have a healthy discussion instead of all of the hate and fear mongering speech that we've been hearing lately... I am most definately voting for Obama in the next election!!
