Yes! The economy's recovering! Yes! Unemployment's improving! Outside of throwing money to the states, claim to want smaller government; and want the government to stay out of their business, yet squeal for help when an event occurs, like burning up or floating under water; and our continuing with the 'status quo', business as usual stunt of supporting, welfaring and 'buying friends', Yes! Federal spending's under control! Yes! Immigrants are being sent out by the bus loads; to the detriment of our farms!!

You say "Immigrants are being sent out by the bus loads; to the detriment of our farms!!" So, therefore you agree that Barry's policies are detriment to our farms. It is a shame that he does not care about the American Farmer.

Yes! AMERICA is better off than we were 2 and a half years ago. We are still here! We didn't go on over off the cliff! Before he left, Bush threw money to the banks to try to keep the balloon from bursting, until OBAMA got in to continue stabilization of the downward spiral anyway! OBAMA did just that! He's working hard to bring AMERICA back to a progressive economic standing! BTW, with NO co-work, nor help from your Republicans! Their only interest is putting him out of the Whitehouse! OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!

Timmy Geithner Leaving ! Is this the end of Barry's administration? What a wimp. Little Timmy was only in the job for 2 1/2 years, got too hot for him and he is out of here. Think of our troops that stick with the job until it is done. Think of their courage and dedication to this country, now compare that to Barry's administration. What a contrast.

Our country is facing one of the worse economic times in modern history. Barry's academic buddies are jumping the ship to go back to school. Again I say what wimps, leaving us stuck with their failed policies.

Why would anyone donate money to this president, why would anyone give him their vote. He can not even hold on to his own staff, they are not supporting him anymore why should you?

Did you read Tom from Cannonburgs' post on the previous subject, Jay? No! That. There've been many administrational officials who have stepped down from several other administrations for all types of reasons! Some for other jobs, some for disagreements, some for cause! Their was recently a governor who stepped down from her job, before she finished the job. Colin Powell and a few others stepped down from the Bush administration, but he kept on 'deciding' didn't he? OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!

Yes, their was recently a governor who stepped down from her job, and you Liberal Democrats complained didn't you? You told us that this is why she had failed. Well if that is true then the same is for little Timmy.

So, I take it from the reasoning of your flawed premise, you are stating Colin Powell failed?

In fact, ten of Bush's fifteen cabinet positions were changed before, or at the end of his first term, including Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil who left at the end of the first year, and was replaced by John Snow. Or, is it that you don't want to admit O'Neil was forced out because he challenged the Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy, and he very well stated they would destroy the economy?

Or, is it that Timothy Geithner is correct when he states what the 14th Amendment accurately says about our debt, and raising the debt ceiling, and that doesn't square with what you want congress to do.

        14th Amendment:
Section 4. "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned."

Timothy Geithner, has done a great job considering the unnecessary obstacles placed in his way by a bent on destroying this country Republican congress.

As for claiming Sarah Palin left office as governor because she was burnt out after twenty months...come on do you really think that is going to fly?

You know Jay you can't always have everything both ways.

    Wait a minute....

I thought Obama was working hard on the debt crisis, but ever since his childish rant he's been either fundraising or packing for yet another vacation.

'Think of our troops that stick to the job until it is done. Think of their courage and dedication to this country....'. That is so true, but again why or how do you come to believe that their stepping down should shine a negative light on President Obama? Those people are adults and I'm sure they have their reasons; BTW, I believe they're battle-fatigued with fighting the Republican Party! Not OBAMA! He's STILL on the GOPs' hate-ridden, conspiracy-structured battlefield, trying to get something done!

...I think of him as one of the soldiers you just talked about. He's just on a different kind of battlefield, trying to fight and dodge a different kind of bullet. OBAMA has taken many from all angles and sides, including some from his own base, but he keeps on going like an energizer bunny as he tries to fly above the fray! He even ignores the fact that it's well known to the intelligent eye and ear that all of the daily hooplah stems from a conservative conspiracy against his personal sucess as President!

The only bullet Barry's administration is dodging is called responsibility.

The only bullet being dodged is by the Republican legislators in ending the Bush era tax cuts.

.....You ask me why I'd vote for him; that's why! I believe he is what this country needs and if the anti-Americans and the OBAMA-hating conspirators and obstructionists leave him alone, good things will happen for AMERICA! Oooops! That's exactly what they don't want happening under his watch anyway! So they are running interference, stopping and blocking every move he attempts to make. The Party of NO! It's gets more and more obvious everyday that passes. Sad, Sad, Sad....Shamefully pathetic!

@shivic2012; 'childish rant'? It was the truth! They knew that man would be doing his fundraising yesterday and today? They knew his schedule. They couldn't wait to SCREAM they asked him and he didn't come. They're the ones who are childish! They stormed out of the last meeting like spoiled brats! Oh, and VP Biden was in charge! Do you think it would've been any different had OBAMA been at the meeting? They don't agree with ONE thing he says! They don't agree with him, even when he agrees with them! HATE!

On one hand you say that little Timmy is an adult, can step down if he wants, and this does not not shine a negative light on Barry. However when a republican leaves a meeting, this does look negative, that they are childish. Are the republicans not aloud to be battle fatigued as well? Do you have a double standard? Are you a hypocrite?

@ Jean, First off yes, Colin Powell failed. He lied, saying that there were WMD in Iraq. If he had not said those words at the UN I doubt that the war would have ever started. If he started the war he should have stayed to end it.

Second, I never said it was OK for any of these people to quit. I am asking why is it always OK for a Democrat to quit mid job?

And last, I do not agree with the President Bush tax cuts. I think the taxes should be raised. My problem is with Barry's supporters. You all continue to support Barry even though he supports the tax cuts. What hypocrites you all are.

        July 3, 2011 at 4:24 pm |
  11. Liz Carter in Georgia

Jay, we support OBAMA because we support OBAMA. Didn't you say you thought BUSH was wrong for putting us in those wars? You supported him then and you defend and support him now! He's still your 'President' Bush! 'Barry' is just 'Barry'....Right? We don't care who steps down DEM or REPUB, but for you to try to throw it back at OBAMA as failure on his part is what the debate is about. That's when I brought Powells' name came up as a 'for intance'! AND A SO WHAT? Bush stayed President!

    July 4, 2011 at 7:08 am |
  12. Liz Carter in Georgia

People who work for the government have to take an oath. All of us did! It stands to reason that POWELL had to take an oath too, working under Bush/Cheney. The oath is a promise to your country to abide by the decisions of your superiors for the 'common good' of the nation! If what you accuse Powell of is true, who do you think he made that promise to? Who administered him that oath? Who put him in the position of the 'hot seat' to have to go to the UN to tell that lie? He had no 'dogs in the fight'!
