White House staying mum on Cain

Senior White House officials have had no problem attacking Mitt Romney, but when it comes to the recent sexual harassment reports surrounding Herman Cain, mum's the word.

From today's daily briefing:

QUESTION: Wondering if the White House has any comment on the allegations that Herman Cain is facing and whether – from your perspective – that has any effect on his candidacy for the presidency?

CARNEY: I really don't have any comment on that.

Smart move. How about we just let the facts come out before rendering a verdict! Smart move! Now if everyone else would follow suit! We will see!

Better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to verbalize and remove all doubt.

Why comment...just let the whole thing run its course, it will with or without a White House comment.

politico used anonymous sources, that signed non-disclosure agreements. I love the media. 'Anonymous sources' can go on the compost heap. I give no – zero – weight to any announcement that uses anonymous sources said .... Confirmations are in the same class. Put the 'horse' on TV or put it back in the stable
