What's behind Obama's rising poll numbers?

Washington (CNN) - The gridlock and partisanship that threatens to ruin Christmas in Washington could be an election year gift for President Barack Obama's campaign.

A growing number of voters , 50% compared to 44% in March, trust Obama to solve the nation's problems while the percentage of those with faith in congressional Republicans is slipping, according to a CNN/ORC International Poll.

CNN Poll: President's approval nearing 50%

For the Obama team, the poll numbers seem to validate the president's fall and winter strategy: Intone the jobs message like a mantra while squaring off against a do-nothing Congress and congressional Republicans in particular.

This is a good thing...But I hereby guarantee that the knuckledragging Teabots will be here momentarily with their usual name calling. I mean think about the idiocy of these people. President Obama is fighting FOR THEM and they hate him for it.

Understand this if you make less than $150K per year, this tax cut is for you. My guess is, the trolls insulting the president will attack him with the usual hate, racism, childish name calling and vitrol hoping to get a check from the Koch Bros. The stupidity of the entire republican party is breath-taking....AND THE DUMMIES that will be insulting the president DON'T EVEN REALIZE IT! Imagine that (?)

      Trace,

I am I full agreement with you about the name calling. It is classless, useless, senseless, ridiculous and adds nothing to even half way intelligent debate. Yet, as i always say...BOTH SIDES do it and not to fully address that is less than honest! I was recently called racist by a lefty and am STILL waiting for any type of evidence to back up that claim! I haven't seen it yet!

I fully understand the emotions over politics but do we have to be ignorant and juvenile over it? It appears to me we have forgotten that it takes grownups to better this country. From where I sit, I see very few! You honestly think the entire GOP is stupid? So then what happens when the next poster claims the same about the Dems? Who is tellling the truth or is it just a bunch of hot air? Yet per the first amendment, we all have right to be ridiculous!

        steveo,

Its deeper than that! The main theme of this particular party hasn't changed since the President was sworn in....Make this Guy a One Term President; Period, End of Story, Nothing else is acceptable to these people. Yes, I proudly call them stupid because what person believes this country is better served when there is a single group of people (call them Republicans, GOP, Tea baggers) ....whose sole purpose is to destroy that president and doesn't believe defenseless Americans will not be hurt (?) THIS IS THE PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY....WHERE IS THE SUPPORT FOR WHAT'S BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY?????? We should sacrafice the lives of everyone that supports this President?

Are we supposed to be proud of the way the Republicans are Treating the President? We should respect that? I would raise any of my children to be the "boat anchors" the republicans have become for the progress of this country.

Barack Obama won the election, fair and square. He's always been a legal american. And inherited a mess that this generation has ever seen before....Yet the only thing we are to say is ...Both Parties are At Fault.??? I don't recall hearing the president declare war on the Republicans.

Go ahead steveo, chide me for being mean to these cretins but a lot of innocent peopole are being hurt by this war against the President , and I fail to see what this guy or the country did to deserve this crap

        I appreciate the reply Trace,

I told you before I disagree with the goal to make Obama a one term president. The people will decide that and not McConnell! I also have stated the hatred displayed towards him and his family is shameful. We have agreement there!

Should we sacrifice the lives of those who support the president? No!
Should we sacriice the lives of those who disagree with him? No!

You said "where is the support for what is best for this Country?" Realize there are others who don't feel that way! There are those who feel this administration is not the best for this country, shall we discount them? Personally, I believe most people (Dems/GOP/Independents/Tea party/conservatives/liberals) all want what is best for this country. The primary issue is what policies gets us there. The left believe only leftist policies gets us there and the right believes only rightist policies gets us there!

It this because of this great divide, we get so little! All I'm saying is compromise is a lost art and we all are losing because of it! We have gridlock becaused everybody thinks the other guy is wrong!

As far as declaring war on the Republicans, technically no but at least even you must admit, there was a whole lot of blame Bush during the first 2 years. You don't think Bush walked into some stink as well? He did, it just took a little time for the stink to mature but the foundation was laid for sure.

My intent was not to chide you, you and everyone else has a right to say whatever you want. Two of the most emotional topics in this world are politics and religion! it seems we have forgotten how to engage each other and solve problems. Is it truly realistic to believe ALL opposition to this president is because everyone who opposes is stupid? I don't think so! Is there ignorance from some on both sides, sure enough!

You're a smart guy Trace, and all I doing is having a simple conversation!

Meanwhile, Mein Führer and Her Royal Highness Queen Moochelle, will, dine on Italian White Alba truffles, Kobe steak, blue lobsters and they'll wash it down with a bottle of Rothschild’s Chateau Lafite 1869...out of a brown paper bag, Chicago style.

While we must eat our peas... and learn to appreciate it dammit.

"What's behind Obama's rising poll numbers?"... Simple- OWS woke up America, with the undeniable and clear message that the middle class had been played by the GOP. Too late now... Prez Obama has shown he is the primary player who is REALLY working for them... & we're all seeing who the GOP is attacking [average Americans]- and whose interest they represent [BIG business, anti-freedom fundamentalists, & the ultra-rich]

John Bonehead wont give the mid class a break, Bachman says gay people are evil, Perry doesnt know the voting age, Cain refers to the Mid East as Becky-Becky-Stan-Stan, Newt authorized Ken Starr over a billion to sniff Monicas hamper for Clintons seaman stains to prove to the country Clinton was immoral and still the GOP cant figure why Obamas numbers shot up so high. You cant make this stuff up

    Why can't Democrats provide more choices than Obama? They seem to have a very shallow roster.-;

Even the citizens who are most detached from politics are realizing that Conservatives are willing to harm the nation and impoverish the middle class if it will help them win the next election.

Imagine that God sent an angel to moderate the next debate among the Republican candidates.

The angel says, "God has decided to grant you one of two wishes. God will make America into a paradise. There will be full employment, high wages, free medical care for everyone, no more war, global warming will be ended magically, and God will pay off the national debt for you with gold and diamonds. Also Obama will be re-elected. That's one choice."

"The other choice is that God will cause a great drought which will destroy American farming, food crops will fail, epidemics will break out, America will go broke, you will default on your debt, and unemployment will go up to 90%. Former upper-middle-class Americans will be found lying in the gutter dead of starvation, and no one will bother to even pick up their corpses except to steal the clothes off of them. However, the Republican Party will win the 2012 elections by the biggest landslide in history."

Newt Gingrich cannot control himself any longer. He leaps to his feet and says, "So tell us already ... which one of us gets to be President?"

Ding, ding, ding. You hit it on the head. The Repuplican Party will happily destroy this country if it means destroying the President along with it.

What's behind his fake numbers? Oh I'd say a handful of evil doers, millions of sheep, a truck load of trolls, and a plethora of lies and deceptive propaganda. You know, the usual stuff.

....HA Jason....Ron Paul for President! That's about as likely as the sun rising in the West....Not gonna happen. But you are a consistent supporter of this grumpy ole guy, as ALL of his supporters are oblivious to the reality that their candidate is unelectable to people who think rationally. Makes your candidate a loser before the word "GO"

Unless the GOP candidate's motive for being elected president is to execute everyone in America under 130 years of age, then he, or she, or anyone, even someone they just dragged out from under a bridge, would be better than Mein Führer Obama.

The problem for Obama is that Bush’s presidency has begun to recede too far into the past for him to continue blaming his predecessor for the current economic mess. He needs a new culprit — and he wants voters to finger congressional Republicans.

The scandals don’t help any… Either does the failed stimulus… The historic unemployment rate… And he needs to stop bowing.

Fortunately according to Mein Lord Obama's own MSM propaganda ministry he's above it all:

Newsweek editor Evan Thomas: "I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."
