Tarmac tiff brings shines light on immigration debate

Washington (CNN) –The “testy tarmac” exchange between President Obama and Arizona Governor Jan Brewer was clearly the water cooler story of the day, and it has stirred debate on a broader national issue: Immigration reform.

Differences over how to solve the problem of illegal immigration and how the discussion was handled in a 2010 Oval Office meeting are at the root of the tiff.

The frustration extends to Latino voters, but for a different reason: the slow pace of progress.

POTUS' Day Ahead: More swing state visits

President Obama continues his post State of the Union tour through several key swing states Thursday, set to make stops in Nevada and Colorado.  Those stops follow similar events in Iowa and Arizona Wednesday.   Though not considered "campaign events," the president is hitting all the themes he's expected to campaign on in states he will mo doubt trek across many times over before November.
