POTUS' Day Ahead: Shoring up the UAW vote

It's primary day in Michigan for the Republican presidential race and President Obama is taking the opportunity to shore up his own support in the state with a speech before United Auto Workers Tuesday. The president is expected to tout his administration's record in helping rescue the auto industry from the brink of collapse three years ago and save thousands of union jobs in the process. Polls show the government's bailout of the industry is largely popular in Michigan, putting the president on the same side of a majority of voters in this crucial swing state. Meanwhile, the White House can't resist offering a contrast between the president and Mitt Romney, who has awkwardly tried to defend his stance that the government should have let Detroit go through a structured bankruptcy without any bailout funds.

Obama continues to tell Americans that 2 + 2 = 5 ... and, there's always a bunch of stupid people out there (and posting here), who believe him ... and, are ready to tell the rest of us that he is absolutely right ... and, insult us if we disagree.

I hear ya. I just don't get that mentality. Bush sucked wind and I have no problem saying it. I am not thrilled with any of the GOP candidates, but they can't be as bad as BO (and Bush). The crazy libs we see posting here keep trying to tell us we are angry. I understand they get frustrated with us because we do not like BO's policies. At some point they may get what BO is doing to the working class – including small business owners. I have never felt like this country could go socialist – for the first time in my life I really think BO and the libs are "nudging" us that way.

Obama already owns the UAW vote, afterall he paid for it with our money. What I'd like to know is, where is my free car from GM and Chrysler? They took my money but gave nothing in return.

      Isn't It Ironic? ...

The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever ...

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

He is shoring up all the unions Not just the UAW.
The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched.

This is horrible concerning the veterans. They pledge their life yet get the shaft from Obama. He tells them it's raining while he whizzes down their backs. No we know all the "support the troops" talk from him and Michelle were all lies.

BO is touting the auto bailout today. I have seen stories so far today on CNN, MSNBC and CBS. All of them said he saved the auto industry with no backround info to back it up. Not one of these so called news outlets mentioned the 10 year tax exemption of about 43 billion GM won't have to pay.

One more thing for our fine Lib friends. BO announced he wants 1 million Volts on the road in the upcoming couple of years. At $10,000 per car it appears we have yet another stimulas. But, we all know this is yet another loser policy by this administration. I just can't understand why everyone wouldn't want a $42,000 compact car that blows up when you get into an accident. Let me put my Lib hat on –
"you people are racist if you don't support the president and buy this car". "If GB was in office you would buy this car and support him". LOL...

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul issued the following statement regarding the Obama administration’s latest proposal to seek cuts in Tricare benefits for veterans and active military. See comments below.

“As a Doctor, an Air Force Veteran, and Congressman, who serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and has always fought for the best interest of our troops, I am appalled at President Obama’s disregard for the health and well-being of America’s military families and his continued fealty to union boss special interests.

“The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget would require military families and retirees to pay exceedingly more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. This is unacceptable.

“Our military men and women have fought bravely, and in exchange, our country made a promise to them that we must honor. There are trillions of dollars in unwise and unconstitutional spending we must cut. And there are few other leaders in Washington willing to cut spending as deeply as I am and truly balance our budget. But we must make sure we take care of our veterans and military personnel who fight to take care of us.

“We have put our troops in harm’s way, and we must honor our promises. Our troops have paid a heavy price these past 10 years. Over 5,000 have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, 40,000 have seen crushing injuries, and hundreds of thousands more suffer from brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Failing to meet the promises we have made to our troops would be unjust and immoral.

“Instead of cutting our veterans’ benefits, President Obama should truly support our troops by bringing them home to protect our borders and defend our country. Re-unite them with their families and make sure they no longer play policeman in dangerous foreign civil wars. Cutting the benefits of our veterans while we subsidize the security of other wealthy nations like Germany and Japan and play ‘world policeman’ makes no sense.

“As a Congressman, I have taken very seriously my duty to ensure that our fighting men and women are well taken care of and given the respect, dignity, and appreciation they have earned. That is why I introduced H.R. 1092, the Military Retirees Health Care Protection Act, which prohibits the Department of Defense from increasing Tricare fees without congressional approval. I urge my fellow members of Congress, and the other GOP presidential candidates to support this action and support our troops.

“As President, I intend to keep the promises and commitments we have made as a nation to our troops, because they are the ones that sacrifice everything to keep us free.”

Eric Holder is the ultimate example of the fox guarding the chicken coup. This Attorney General, the highest law enforcement officer in the land ... who has sworn to uphold our laws ... who is one of the top recipients of the public's trust ... has betrayed the American people, and violated the principles of his office to the max. Holder and Obama, both should at the very least be prosecuted as accomplices to MASS MURDER, for their Fast and Furious debacle ... which resulted in the slaughter of over 200 innocent Mexicans ... and, that's in addition to all the other acts of malfeasance which they have engaged in. Like corrupt dictators, who are hung by their feet, once their power is finally taken, these two scoundrels deserve the worst punish possible !!!
