Obama to kick off March Madness Tuesday

A White House official tells Dan Lothian President Obama will attend the first game of NCAA's March Madness next Tuesday in Dayton Ohio. And he'll be bringing along a special guest: British Prime Minister David Cameron.

From the White House official:

On March 13, as part of the State Visit of United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron to the United States, and to emphasize the special relationship between our two nations President Obama and Prime Minister Cameron will attend a first round game during the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship First Four at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio.   The University of Dayton Arena is steeped in basketball history, serving as the stage for many great tournament moments and as host to more Division I men’s games than any other arena in the country.  The President and the Prime Minister look forward to a great game between some of our nation’s finest collegiate athletes.  More details will be released in the coming days.

How is that spending tax payers dollars to attend a game? The President deserves a little R and R every now and then. Do you get days off at your job? Well, so does the president. A lot of people don't have a job because they either don't have a education or don't want to work. That is not the president fault.

People don't want to work? Be careful Steve....

The fuel for the plane is expense enough, but then there is SS that has to maintain security in a crowded atmosphere, there is traffic that has to be stopped for his motorcade to go from the airport to the stadium, there is the airport its self that has to be shut down when the pres lands there... I could go on... this will be an expensive trip, and one that I can assure you he will not be paying for.

PS. I pay for my vacations.

It's nothing but hate Steve. Did they cry when Bush and any other Presidents went to concerts and games?? No way...they were 'their' Presidents! Quite a few of them have already said Barack Obama is NOT 'their' President...so that means in 'their' biggoted minds, he doesn't have the same privileges as the ones before him!! It's hateful and pathetic!!

George W. Bush took more vacations than any president in history. In his first 3 years he took nearly 3 times as many vacations as Obama has taken.

Were you super mad about that too?

Everyone deserves a break here and there. Plus he is connecting to so many other "regular" joes who will be at the game. In response to the "haters", do you really think that any of the Republican candidates are going to help with the economy stabilizing. Nothing happens during a presidents first term, it's always the second term where the president's really have balls. And if people can vote Bush president twice why not Obama. The country is still seeing changes and the hope is still there.

"What I was suggesting - you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith..."
—Barack Obama, in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, who jumped in to correct Obama by saying "your Christian faith," which Obama quickly clarified.
Some are accusing others of being dumb in this site. How dumb is it to forgrt what faith you are? Or how many states there are?
"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died - an entire town destroyed."
—Barack Obama, on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people – Can anyone imagine if Bush said something like this?
"Now, what we’re doing, I want to be clear, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that's fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."
—Barack Obama, on Wall Street reform, Quincy, Ill., April 29, 2010

Such vitriol from so many bloggers about President Obama including He's Kenyan etc etc its time for reasonable media to either stop publishing These kenyan stories abd claims re his birth certificate and its genuine ness and moderate out such blogs or continue publishing them only if you believe they are true and are prepared to sy openly you agree with such blogs
If it is so important to KTH our politicians, then you have a duty to you total viewing audience not to Siton the fence adn keep yourself and you station and its reporters with thr integrity and honestly they say is the hallmark of good Journalism.
