Obama and GOP..fighting for the little guy

(CNN) – Democrats and Republicans addressed struggles facing middle-class families during their weekly addresses Saturday following a busy week dominated by Supreme Court judges’ arguments on health care.
President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, a Republican from Ohio, spoke about proposals to help middle-class families, urging the opposing party to join theirs to find solutions.

Obama boosted the "Buffet Rule," a proposal to end Bush-era tax cuts for wealthy individuals, or, as Democrats describe it, would "ask some of the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share."
"Now, if this were a perfect world, we'd have unlimited resources. No one would ever have to pay any taxes, and we could spend as much as we wanted," Obama said.

But that is not the case, and middle-income individuals are over-burdened, he said.
"Do we want to keep giving tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans like me, or Warren Buffett or Bill Gates – people who don't need them and never asked for them?" he asked.
He said Congress will soon vote on the rule, which he highlighted in his State of the Union address in January. Boehner touted the budget his chamber passed along party lines Thursday, and criticized what he considers a logjam in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
"The budget, I'm sorry to say, is just the tip of the iceberg," he said. "The Senate has stalled dozens of House-passed bills, several of which would implement the Republicans' 'all-of-the-above' energy strategy to address rising gas prices and help create jobs. All of these energy bills passed with bipartisan support. Many are backed by the president's own jobs council."
He said the president's influence is partly to blame for what he sees as inaction, and called on Obama to push for legislative action.
"So today, I'm challenging President Obama to make good on his rhetoric and urge the Senate to allow a vote on bipartisan, House-passed energy bills," he said.
But Democrats argue it is a two-way street, and point to an energy measure that stalled in the Senate on Thursday at Republican hands. It was a Democratic-backed plan to end tax subsidies to oil companies, and use that money for deficit reduction and clean energy projects. Like the GOP budget, it was not expected to pass.
This week, Congress is in recess for spring break after passing several bills which the White House has said it would sign.
The addresses come after a busy week for the president.
As he attended a nuclear security summit in South Korea, Obama's health care legislation – considered the signature legislation of his presidency – dominated headlines this week as the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments about its constitutionality.
The Supreme Court now retreats from the spotlight to make decisions that could topple some or all of the sweeping health care reform bill.

If the supreme court does what is expected and take down Obama’s health care that would be the third time they would have screwed the American people. After cinching the Bush election, upholding corporations anywhere to influence our system of elections buy "buying it", will drive a total lack of confidence in the court and it’s relevance as a body of our government.
This country is eroding as a result of Republican influence now in the states destroying all gains by the middle class to improve our lives. From voting rights, women's health care, elections interference, unfair taxation benefitting the wealthy,
denying global warming, on and on..
The Republicans have no solutions to our problems and have admitted to the destruction of any effort by the President to improve the affairs of most working people.

Exactly B. They have people in the middle class voting against their own interests. People do not know they are supporting interests of corporations. Our population has a very low mediocre score for knowledge on what's going on in the nation, it's because they turn on the T.V. and that's all they listen to. Go onto the internet or to the library and educate yourselves, we are feeding each other misinformation. Everyone should have benefits to health care. Why is it so hard for Americans to want the well being for all the people in the U.S.? Why are we so scared, health care for everyone does not make us a Communist nation, we would still be a very capitalist nation people. I wish we could just send all these people back to school, but wait the GOP want to cut funding for that as well... I guess we'll just have less knowledge about our Government. Hm... that's right, that should keep them in office every year.

I couldn't have said it any better,The gop is as ant imiddle class as it gets and our country is suffering because of the crusade the gop has been on to get obama out of office even if it means taking america down with it.Look at what they did to our credit rating, there taking aways our health care law,and gop says they will get rid of all our safety nets if we loose our job or need medical help.Just look at the wages and benefits paid out in the right to work states that are run by the gop.A family has to work 3 jobs just to barly make it in those states cause the companies pay low wages and have almost no health care benefits, this is why i laugh when people attack unions, why attack them when all they want is a fair wage and insurence....whats so bad about workers rights and fairness. The gop try to spin good things into bad and there sheep will follow and vote against themselves even though it would help theuir families.

Jesus would have advocated health insurance ... but, he would not have advocated the corrupt, unconstitutional, 'pass it to see what's in it', pork-laden, 1 3/4 Trillion dollar, Obamacare monstrosity.
Jesus would not have advocated a leader using the power of the State to squander billions of the people's money on projects for his cronies, ala Solyndra, in exchange for political contributions. Jesus, as well as Martin Luther King, would have been sickened by Obama's insidious use of racism and class warefare, for his own self-serving ambitions.

That's exactly how we feel about Republicans and two polls last week indicated 2/3 of Americans blame Bush and the Republicans for the economy. Polls also showed Obama with double digit leads over Romney and Santorum nationwide, while Republicans spend tens of millions and get the largest amount of free television time for one party in history and it's not working. The majority of people agree with taxing the very rich more and cutting subsidies to big oil. Seems your opinion is in the minority.

What you call Obama care was what the republicans dreamed up. it is what romneys health care was based on. the whole thing was a republican bill to start with. if you would prize your bloodshot eyes away from faux news you just might learn something, before you post your lies why don't you google them first and leaen the truth. nut i know you are one of those inbred teapartyist.

        @Hawk,

There are a lot of intelligent folk on this blog but some seem to ignore the fact the 10th amendment protects Romneycare! The Supreme court will soon let us know what protects Obamacare, if anything at all! That is the difference!

This specific case may be partisan, but both parties are equally guilty of selling our policies, rights, and tax dollars to the highest bidder. Goldman Sachs, GE, Monsanto, Lockheed Martin, Bank of America, J.P. Morgan Chase, pharma, Citibank, Du Pont, ect... They run our Federal Reserve Bank + Treasury Dept, FDA + USDA, our state dept + Pentagon... Obama campaigned promoting single-payer health care, then ignored them and gave a blank check to insurance/pharma companies. Lied, pandered, and sold out. These companies are some of the largest funders to both Obama and Romney.
All this partisan bickering is a manufactured ploy to keep us distracted from the fact that our politicians are all bought and paid for – meaning that corporations run our government. That is why we are in perpetual wars (the military contractors, banks, and oil companies have record profits from our war spending). Bankers are getting over 400 billion dollars a year just in INTEREST payments from our debt. Do people realize that both the Republican and Democratic budget plans have us in debt for atleast another 30 years? Than means ~40-60 TRILLION dollars in debt. Do you really think this country and exist in that much debt?

Howard...Don't let Martin Luther King's name fall out of your racist mouth. The notion of that sickens me!! You don't give a damn about what Martin Luther King stood for, just like you loons hate Sharpton! You are probably one of the main ones out there calling for King's down-fall while you called him a 'communist' and an 'agitator'!! NO!! MLK is turning over in his grave and crying out against the total abuse, disrespect, biggotry, hate, and racism that Obama has been faced with from diehard Jim Crows and Willie Lynchs like you!! I know Dr King had hoped we were a little bit higher up 'the mountain' than what's been shown and provened these last 4-5 years!! He's sad that he didn't get to finish the mission, and somehow the people who he left behind went blind to the fact and dropped to ball!! They were offered jobs, tokens and favors to let things be!! The work that was left from 'the movement' was swept under the rug and put in file cabinets in the back of the storage room of history...unfinshed!! That's why we are suffering now, as a whole nation, and having to meet this demon face to face once again!! We did the wrong thing when he passed the mantle to us as a people to complete the work...and we put the mantle on a shelf and forgot about it..brainwashed and bamboozled!! It's something to that old cliche...'never leave an enemy behind'!!

        TO LIZ CARTER ...
King said we should judge a man by the content of his character. He tried to transcend race, and unite Americans. Obama keeps dividing, and polarizing Americans, for his own political gain. Obama is ALL show, and has a lack of character. Unfortunately, people like you ALWAYS support Obama, whether he's right, or wrong, because of his race.

        March 31, 2012 at 7:40 pm |
      • Delu

You need to SHOW how Obama is polarizing and dividing rather than just say it (and you've been saying it a lot, but never tried to sow it).

The right HAS shown elements of polarization, against immigrants (look at some of their opinions against immigration laws), the working middle class versus the rich (this should be pretty clear). Gays and Transgenders (see Santorum), Religion and religious issues (again the religious right wing base and their pastor Santorum) (abortion etc), women's rights, and of course, race.

Ray...I think it was one of your GOP 'clown car' misfits who promised you all the moon! Oh yeah...It was Newt 'the puke' Gingrich!! LOL! And if you think you will ever become rich, working for someone else period....you are sadly mistaken!! If you think you will ever get rich under a Rethuglican rule, you are pitifully mistaken!! You will have to keep paying taxes, so they can keep 'giving' welfare subsidies to Big Oil, Big Pharma, and still give an arm and a leg at the pump! The people who are enjoying the Bush 'tax cuts/breaks', will continue to work most of their businesses overseas and still get the cuts!! You still want be able to get a job to just live in America...not to even speak of the possibility of getting rich!! The GOP isn't interested in anybody getting rich, nor staying rich but themselves!! They are the 'snobs'!! The Democrats know that, and so they are continually and hatefully blamed and criticized by people like you for their heartfelt, empathizing, humanitarian efforts to at least extend aid and a helping hand to their fellow-Americans, who are in need of health, education and welfare!! Oh...and don't worry! You're right...most American people who end up in those categories, have lost of all hope of becoming 'rich'...they don't even dream of being rich anymore...they are just so grateful to be able to just get through the month with food, bills paid!! They aren't GREEDY!! You GOPers want to stop that...!! Oh...but keep sending the oil companies there allowance...keep giving the richest of the rich their taxcuts!! How sad!!

        Gee Liz,
I don't know why you are so bitter. Things have been going your way for tha last 75 years. A 16 Trilliion Dollar Federal Debt, at least 47 Million on Food Stamps, tons of Morgages under water, 15 to 20 percent unemployment, Social Security, Medicare, Medicade, all running out of money, and on and on and on.

By the way Liz, Republicians don't promise you anything, that is what democrats do. Republicians give you all the tools and expect you to do it yourself. Everything is there. If you still need me to pick up after you, don't expect everything on a Silver Platter. You are going to have to provide that platter yourself.

      • Howard

LIZ ... you think that because you're a black, female, senior citizen, it gives you an inside track on the truth, on what King meant ... and, that Obama is above reproach ... but, all races, and all ages, and both genders, know that Martin Luther King stood for equality, and unity via peaceful methods. Equality means equality ... not, America owes one group MORE, because of historical inequities. And, when King talked about judging people not by their color, but their content of character, he meant that we shouldn't elect a candidate BECAUSE of his color ... like YOU, and 97% of the African Americans are doing, when they vote for Obama. The truth is the truth ... no matter how much YOU, or Obama, try to misuse it, to promote YOUR political agenda.

        April 1, 2012 at 11:47 am |
      • Delu

@Howard: How do you KNOW that 97% of the African American population are voting for Obama simply because he is black and not for what he has done? Have you gone into their minds and rooted out the information?

And what political Agenda is it that you believe Obama and "his people" are promoting? Do speak out on this and how you've come to know of it.

@Ray E. Very well if you're saying that foodstamps and the like are examples of the government "bad behaviour", do answer me this? What sort of tools exactly are the Republican's handing out to people? I'll speak about one relevant area which is medicare, they've just decided to swing for the Ryan Plan again. That plan DISMANTLES medicare as it is and introduces what amounts to a voucher program for the elderly who need medical aid (thus RAISING healthcare costs for them). What tools have the Republicans said they would give to people after passing the Ryan plan which dismantles medicare as it is?

(Obama changed BK rules protecting the company from losing money and protecting the investors and top officials. What's a PROGRESSIVE....this is the new name for Marxists. Dems are proud to say they are progressives. Obama "what's fare???" What is yours is given to someone else...Dems have the richest people and more of them than Repubs. If the GOP decided not to use Super PACs I would bet you Obama will be the first one to shake their hand.

Your candidate, Obama, is a HYPOCRITE, and a liar, who will say, or do anything to get reelected. Obama railed against superpacs, when his opponents used them, but when he wanted more money, to get himself reelected, Obama feverishly promoted them for himself. Just like when he first ran, Obama pledged he'd only use public funds, only to break that pledge. Then, there's Obama's 2007 campaign pledge of transparency, which included putting his pending legislation on C-span, and online ... and, then he became the least transparent President in recent memory. So ... cut the B.S. !!!

All the things you said about Obama made me think he is a reasonable and pragmatic President. The GOP candidates however are out of touch with reality which is why Obama will win 2012 and the smarter Republicans will try their luck on 2016, if the party doesn't devolve any further into a toxic, extremist mess.

        April 1, 2012 at 3:48 pm |

Howard: "Your candidate, Obama, is a HYPOCRITE, and a liar, who will say, or do anything to get reelected."

So what do you think of Mitt Romney and his ever changing positions?

Howard: "Obama railed against superpacs, when his opponents used them, but when he wanted more money, to get himself reelected, Obama feverishly promoted them for himself. Just like when he first ran, Obama pledged he'd only use public funds, only to break that pledge."

Did his opponents stop using superpacs?

The reason I ask this is because I'm wondering if you believe it's a smart thing to do to cut your own capacity (even with a principle reason), when others are going all out?

What would your advice be in the following hypothetical scenario?:

There's a race being held in a certain city, it's a local race, but the 2 teams that are competing in it have always hired foreign racers to race for them. These are big name racers with skill and talent unlike anything the city's own local population has to offer. The new manager of team A has always spoken out loudly about how because this is a local race, they should restrict it only to local racers. However the other team has paid no heed and will proceed as usual by hiring big names to race for them in the next race.

What would your advice to this guy be, to put aside his principles and hire whatever talent he can muster to race with the objective to win, or stick to his principles and use only local racers despite absolute certainty that doing so will mean then whole team losing?

Howard:"and, then he became the least transparent President in recent memory. "

How exactly has he been "the least transparent president in recent history?" I don't remember him covering up stuff to get the country into a war and keeping the cost of said war off the budget books to name a few "acts of non-transparency......."

It is interesting how the Republicans keep saying they are for the Middle Class but continue to work against them in every way possible. They have now had "three" tax cuts for the 1%, and the country has not benefited.

The Country is working its way out of the mess they put us in, despite the obstruction from the GOP/TP in Congress. It is time the GOP move out of our way.

the only way you will truely help the middle class right now is to control spending and turn this country around from debt. This in NOT what obama is doing although he said he would. taxing the rich will not fix our problems. you need to check your head because your logic is childish at best.

IF THE MIDDLE CLASS WAS REALLY ADMITTED INTO THE ELITE REPUBLICAN CLASS, THE BILLIONAIRES WOULD HAVE TO SHARE THEIR WEALTH WITH THE NEWCOMERS. OBVIOUSLY THE REPUBLICANS DONT WANT THAT. HOWEVER, THEY NEED MILLIONS OF LOBBYISTS AND WORKERS OR VOTERS, SO THEY CHEAT THEM. THAT IS HOW THE TEA PARTY ORIGINATED. THE REPUBLICANS ENTICED AND CHEATED AVERAGE MIDDLE CLASS CHRISTIANS OR MORMONS. lUCKILY I READ THAT MANY INDEPENDENTS ARE RETURNING TO OBAMA, 50% OF THEM, ISNT THAT GRAND? YEA! (WHO ARE EVEN MORE RADICAL THAN THE REPUBLICANS)ALSO THE EVANGELISTS DO NOTHING USEFUL FOR OUR COUNTRY. REAL MODERATE CENTRISTS,INDEPENDENTS AND DEMOCRATS MUST PRESIDE IN CONGRESS. THE CLOSENESS BETWEEN WALL STREET AND THE CONSERVATIVES HAS LED TO VERY UNNERVING AND ILLEGAL RESULTS. I don't see that the middle class has done any better under Obama than under Bush, wages have decreased while living costs have gone up. The poor are still poor and growing in number. There's no evidence that Obama or anyone has helped at all. Let me guess, four more years of Obama and Dem control of congress will fix things 100% right? Seems we've heard this one before.

Obama has plans to rebuild the middle class, but his policies can't get passed in this Congress. That's why the upcoming election is so important for the future of our country. Anyone who thinks austerity is a recipe for prosperity has got another thing coming. Folks the reason the deficit is so big is due to lost revenue as a result of the recession created by Wall Street and the housing market. The idea is to prime the pump and get the economy growing again and cut spending in a way that is fair and balanced. Anyone who thinks the rich shouldn't pay more than they currently do doesn't believe in rebuilding the middle class. Our country needs to wake up and vote out conservative ideologues.

Dan5404...if you were addressing me, yep I speak with the dead; especially when I'm speaking to vampires like Howard on this blog! LOL! They are DEAD! They just don't know it yet! Dead hearts, dead souls and dead minds...yeah! I speak with the dead alright! Furthermore, if Howard can speak to MLK and tell us how sickened he was over President Obama's hard work and what I believe are good and genuine efforts to straighten this nation out here and abroad, I'm sure I can get a moment with Dr King too!! Is that within reason??

    March 31, 2012 at 7:03 pm |
    • Where's Ike?

Ah *Liz, don't let these guys get to you. It's the same ploy the conservative noise machine has been using for years... refute that you're being racist, sexist; generally bigoted, by trying to turn the tables on the very actions you promote... it's why "reverse racism" is a coined comeback, just as the hate for "femi-nazis." Please Republicans tell me all about how segregation was actually a benevolent cause or parrot Rush Limbaugh and his insistence that he couldn't possibly be sexist because he judged Miss America...

The enemies of progress are always going to feel besieged by the threats to their total power. Historically white men have been the shot callers... now they feel that power being watered down by the fact that society is progressing... and they're right... power is being spread around to capable people regardless of the *entitlement* (that's another one of those pot/kettle things) that they feel. As the playing field is leveled it's only natural to harken back to the good old days when the only people who mattered were "just like me."

liberal is to progress as conservative is to... you fill in the blank, (btw my answer is stagnant) but the truth is, there's a reason people generally become more conservative as they get older... it's because as we get older change, and the adaptation the becomes necessary with it, becomes more difficult. No one wants to be marginalized and so it's only natural to want to try to freeze everything where it is, or more aptly, turn back the clock on it. Thankfully time marches on regardless of political fallacy... despite the singular omniscience of the founding fathers (who hardly agreed on anything by the way) we live in a country that dragged it's feet on civil rights for women, non-whites, and homosexuals... as we've come around to the correct way of thinking what we've proved more than anything else is that what the founding father's were truly brilliant about was the idea that they were fallible and so created a document that could grow with that inexorable march toward a world and time that was beyond they're grasp.

Drag your feet all you want neanderthal... modern man is inevitable.

REPLY TO : WHERE IS IKE? THANKS TO IKE MY UNCLE PRESIDENT OF GUATEMALA , CARLOS CASTILLO ARMAS ENDED UP DEAD. HE HEADED THE 1954 ANTI COMMUNIST LIBERATION MOVEMENT. EISENHOWER WAS NOT THE ONLY POSSIBLE CONSPIRATOR. MY UNCLE WAS SHOT TO DEATH BY A PALACE GUARD WHEN HE AND HIS WIFE, THE FIRST LADY WERE GOING DOWN A CORRIDOR TO THE DINNER ROOM. MY UNCLE WAS A MODERATE LIBERAL, BUT HIS EFFORTS TO HELP POOR PEASANTS WERE THE CAUSE OF HIS DEATH. 48 HOURS AFTER HE THREATENED TO INCREASE THE TAXES OF THE RICH, HE WAS MURDERED. THE CRIME REMAINS A MYSTERY. THE SOLDIER WHO FIRED THE DEADLY SHOTS, RAN TO THE BACK ENTRANCE OF THE PALACE, BUT FOUND IT SHUT. APPARENTLY HE THOUGHT OR HAD BEEN TOLD IT WOULD BE UNLOCKED. ALSO HIS CLOSE FRIENDS WARNED HIM THERE WAS A RUMOR HE WOULD BE ASSASSINATED. HE COURAGEOUSLY REPLIED: IF THEY KILL ME, SO BE IT. I CANNOT DO MY PRESIDENTIAL DUTIES IF I LET FEAR DISTRACT ME.

WAS HE A CONSERVATIVE? NOPE. RATHER HE HAD VOLUNTEERED IN THE 1944 SOCIALIST REVOLUTION THAT OVERTHREW A REAL CONSERVATIVE TYRANT: JORGE UBICO. WHAT HAPPENED IS THAT PRESIDENT AREVALO APPOINTED MY UNCLE AS MILITARY CHIEF OF A BASE IN ZACAPA. THERE, MY UNCLE READ PAPERS AND RECEIPTS OF LARGE OFFICIAL CORRUPTION AND ILLEGALITY. HE COMPLAINED TO HIS BOSSES; BUT THEY TURNED HIM AWAY. HE FELT OSTRACIZED AND NOT TRUSTED, SO HE RESIGNED. HE AND HIS WIFE OPENED A GROCERY STORE TO MAKE A LIVING. BUT THE AREVALO REGIME AND THE ARBENZ ONE COMMITTED INCREASING ILLEGALITIES, SO MY UNCLE JOINED A UNIVERSITY ANTI-COMMUNIST MOVEMENT. AT THE TIME THE HORRIBLE MASSIVE MURDERS STALIN HAD ORDERED IN RUSSIA AND HITLERS' SIIMILAR ABUSES ALERTED GUATEMALAN MODERATES TO THE DANGERS OF SOCIALISM. SO MY UNCLE TRIED A PURELY NATIONAL ATTEMPT TO TAKE A SOCIALIST MILITARY BASE. BUT HIS VOLUNTEERS DID NOT SUCCEED. HE WAS WOUNDED AND LEFT TO BLEED TO DEATH, UNDER THE ORDERS OF PRESIDENT ARBENZ. LUCKILY A MODERATE LEFTIST DOCTOR ORDERED PICKING UP AND TREATING CASTILLO ARMAS' WOUND. THE STORY IS LONG, SO I WILL ADD THAT MY UNCLE SUCCEEDED AT LAST. BUT THE MODERN CLAIM OF ARBENZISTS THAT CASTILLO ARMAS WAS A RIGHTIST IS FALSE. RATHER MY UNCLE WAS A CENTRIST. HE WENT INTO THE COUNTRYSIDE AT 5: AM TO SEE HOW HE COULD HELP THE POOR NATIVES. TRAGICALLY, LIKE THE ROCK SONG "UNCLE MARTIN, ABRAHAM AND JOHN" SAYS : ALL THE GOOD PRESIDENTS DIE YOUNG. RATHER, WE MUST STOP CRIMINALS FROM DESTROYING OUR BEST LEADERS!

70 white retired!......in my 50yrs of voting i have voted for both sides.......But the republican party is not what it used to be...
Individual Mandate....1989 Republican Heritage House.....wanted a mandate in health care " to get rid of the freeloader
    Republicans were for it..........
1993 Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich....wanted the individual Mandate on Health Insurance. Republicans wanted it
2000 Republicans Supreme court judges..Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, Conner, Scouter voted 5/4 and put Bush in white house and refused the 174,000 votes...that would have put Gore in the W.H....purly political republican......
2006 Republicans Controlled both houses of congress/w.h....and passed the Prescription Part D Plan...with MANDATE!
a penalty of 1% ea mo you waited, when you joined...all penalty added up and YOU paid that entire penalty for the rest of your life on top of your mo. premium.....That's a Republican Constitutional Mandate by the gov. not a state.....
So please explain....Part D Mandate is a gov mandate.CONSTITUTIONAL....and Obamacare Mandate is..UNCONSTITUTIONAL.......2010 Republican Supreme Court Judges Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, Alito, Roberts
voted in favor of Citizens United....and opened the flood gates for corporations, the rich, to donate unlimited amounts of cash to their party...based on the 14th admendment...hell no it was Political the Constitution, the law had no bearing on it.
and OBAMACARE........is political, republican... will be 5/4 by Scalia, Thomas, kennedy, Alito, Roberts....and it this is a close 2012 election just like 2000.....here is how it will end by the same 5 republicans.....mark my words no CONSTITUTION, LAWS WILL BE INVOLVED....THE CONSTITUTION WENT OUT THE WINDOW A LONG TIME AGO.....

IF PRESIDENT'S HEALTH REFORM IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL,WHY DID IT PASS BEFORE? WHY DID THE SC JUDGES NOT DO SOMETHING BEFORE? THANKFULLY, WE THE PEOPLE TRUST PRESIDENT OBAMA, MOST OF THE WORKING MIDDLE CLASS KNOW HE IS ON THEIR SIDE, AND UNION WORKERS, MOST LATINOS AND WOMEN ALSO SUPPORT PRESIDENT OBAMA, SO WHAT DOES A SMALL ELITE OR RADICALIZED SUPREME COURT JERKS CAN DO? There can be a difference between what you and a health insurance company consider healthy. Some insurers will say that you have a health condition if you smoke, are overweight, are taking prescriptions, or had a medical condition in the past. If this describes you, you may want to search and read "Penny Health" on the web.

The Repulican party has killed the middle class. The mismangement that Bush created for ten years and the greed of corporations have created more poor, more debt, more destruction. We need to ban together to save blue collar workers. GOD hates greed and our world clearly shows what it has done. Corporations have been firing people since the 90's. Everyone deserves health care; it has become unafordable for so many. Obama is teh first president to not back down and try to address the problem. Wake up America, any working class individual is insane if they vote for the Republican part, they are for the RICH ..... What don't you understand?????

If you want to get a real sense of where a politician stands on issues and whether they can be trusted or not, look for the delicious "off-mic" comments and "off-the-cuff" comments not meant for the general public. President Obama, sadly in my opinion, is no different than most other other politicians. After hearing several of these "not for public release" comments over the last several years, I do not trust anything he says or any of the promises he makes in his "political" speechs and will not vote for him even if hell freezes over. Never vote for a politician that actively tries to hide what their "true intent" is. I may not agree with a fair amount of the policies being pushed by the republicans (being a libertarian), but at least they tell you what they want to do without trying to hide it (Paul Ryan's budget, for example).

THE REASONS OBAMA IS GOING TO KICK YOUR RIGHTEOUS AZZ:

    (1) He has an advantage with tax payer campaign transportation. He has, not only Airforce One,and Bus One; but he has also pulled 9 cargo aircraft from the U.S. Airforce military operations to support his stepped up visits to campaign sites.
    (2) He still has a multitude of extreme left wing billionaire George Soros (search george soros) orgainizations going gang busters to defeat the GOP on all fronts.
    (3) He is slated to get a 400 million dollar campaign donation from the Union bosses, along with a 400 thousand Union member pledge for door to door campaign support.
    (4) He will publicly take on Iran, and that Nation's terrorist support habits, and will take out Iran's nukes before the 2012 presidential elections. Iran will be given ample warning to minimize collateral damage.
    (5) He will publicly "make news" about opening more oil& gas fields. Never mind that these oil & gas fields are mainly on State land, and are not a Federal decision. Also, just ignore the fact that permits to drill of Federal lands/waters are for "exploration only",and that permits for "production" will have to be applied for in year 2013 (maybe he will authorize production, and maybe not).
    (6) He presently has 84 million in his campaign war chest, which is more than the total of all four of the GOP candidates campaign funds.
    (7) He has a 500 person campaign Team, which is more than the total of all four of the GOP candidates campaign Teams.
    (8) He has a professional propagandist (david axelrod) to help guide the direction of his campaign. Axelrod is the person that came up with Obama's past "Hope & Change" campaign theme. The GOP has no one on Staff that can match wits with Axelrod.
    (9) Our Nation is so tightly divided between Blue (democrates),and Red (republicans) States, that a small percentage of Purple (moderates/independents) State voters will decide the 2012 presidential election (this information is out there, do your research).
    (10) He has Santorum (a.k.a ross perot, a.k.a arlen specter) doing his dirty work against the GOP front runner Romney. The Obama campaign Team is rejoicing in Santorum's seemingly gifted ability to divide the GOP.

The cute thing about republicans is that they have a one track mind. what ever happens like bush trippleing the national debt it is Obamas fault. when bush inherited a budget surplus from bill clinton and blew it on tax cuts for the wealthy it was clintons fault. i pity the poor republicans when they stand before judgement and have to explain all those lies that they have told.

I believe it was Obama who haa been blaming Bush for the debt inheritance. Our current president is certainly about change, in three years he has ran up the credit tab higher than Bush did in 8 years. What this country needs is a mission foucsed businessman who knows how to balance a checkbook, not another bureacrat. To be quite honest, It doesnt matter what party he/she comes from, just as long as the job is done.

That's because there are still reasonable Dems, but if they all voted singlemindedly on the party line, they would've had a negotiation tool to try to work with the House GOP's budget, which was a singleminded and deliberately obnoxious partisan attack. It's acts like those that get logjammed, fortunately. Unfortunately, moderate discourse and bipartisan compromise also gets blocked.

How could any logical human being making less than 200,000 a year possibly support the Republican parties agenda to rid America of a middle class. The supreme court justices are bought and paid for by the republican party. America NEEDS Obamacare, any individual who fails to see this either has no idea what their talking about or is simply rich himself. If Obamacare is struck down, ALL Americans need to quit paying for their health insurance, make the system collapse....there are ways to have your voice heard, when the system fails, its time to get dirty, fight for your rights.

ALEX, HEALTH CARE IS A COMPLEX ISSUE. THE MORE COMPLICATED, THE EASIER FOR THE PRIVATE HEALTH COMPANIES TO MISLEAD, MAKE AMERICANS PAY MORE AND FOOL THE MIDDLE AND WORKING CLASSES. BOTTOM LINE:HOW TO MAKE HEALTH SERVICES AFFORDABLE TO ALL AMERICANS, WITHOUT REDUCING THE QUALITY OF MEDICAL CARE AND HIRE MORE MEDICAL STAFF? TAXING THE RICH IS NEEDED. PRESIDENT OBAMA HINTED THAT. I AGREE WITH HIM. SEE, ALL BILLIONS PRIVATE INSURERS AND THE RICH HAVE MADE NEED BE RECOUPED BY OUT TREASURY, SO PART GOES TO FUNDING IMPROVED HEALTH CARE :) THE REPUBLICAN WHINING OF HOW THE MANDATE IS ILLEGAL IS PURE CRAP.
