Keystone requests route through Nebraska

CNN's Brianna Keilar reports that TransCanada has submitted a proposal for a new route for the controversial Keystone XL pipeline to the state of Nebraska, according to Brian McManus, a spokesman for the state's environmental authority, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.  The new route is east of the initially proposed route that went over an environmentally sensitive aquifer.

None of this oil is destined for the US anyway! Try to keep up, d

That might be acceptable to the administration, but don't expect it to affect gas prices. The oil goes to the highest bidder. China has the greatest need and plenty of our money, so how do you think the bidding will go? Canada would not promise to sell it to us, so we may get a fairly small percentage.

natural gas is lowest it has been in memory...supply and demand...a lot of supply and less demand, we have a lot of natural gas here in America and coming in from Canada. This is what the marxists don't want you to know...if we drill and bring more oil in I will decrease our dependence and lower prices...but then the radical greenies would not vote for obama if he didn't play ball with them (they wouldn't vote for romney, they would stay home) and obama is in BIG TROUBLE politically he can't miss a single vote....in fact he is lame duck and finished. This is your hope and change and al that campaign garbage he gives us...the teleprompter politician.

As much as we all like to think natural gas is the solution we have to think about the potential environmental damage from fracking which is how the U.S would get the natural gas. Fracking is exempt from clean air and water acts and causes great environmental damage. Furthermore people near these Fracking sights have a higher rate for cancer and there is a possibility for their water to be contaminated making it undrinkable. If you want to start creating clean and affordable energy for the US people are going to have to start investing in solar which could power the whole U.S at it current energy consumption.

If they really wanted to supply the oil to the USA they would not have to build it across the whole US. to the Southern Coast. Also it goes over the ogallala aquifer which is the US largest supply of ground water and if somehow that oil leaks the us would have much bigger problems than rising oil prices.
