Obama campaign announces kickoff

(CNN) – President Barack Obama will officially kick off his re-election campaign on May 5 with two rallies in the key states of Ohio and Virginia, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina announced Wednesday night.

The president will appear at both rallies with first lady Michelle Obama, first visiting The Ohio State University in Columbus before traveling to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond in the afternoon.

"The Republican candidates have been out there for over a year campaigning and the president's going to lay out his vision," Messina said on a conference call with reporters. "This will be a ramp-up, not a zero-to-60 moment. So we won't start doing a bunch of these rallies. These will be the first two and then we'll have more announcements about the rest of them coming up."

The president's re-election effort will begin in two states that the Obama campaign sees as critical to its success in November, Messina said, but he said the campaign will continue its efforts to expand the electoral map.

THIS IS SO EASY IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY. JUST SHOW EVERYONE WHAT ROMNEY'S STATED POSITIONS ARE THESE PAST MONTHS AND ARE ON RECORD TO MOST LIKELY CHANGE SO NOT TO HORRIFY ANYONE WHO IS NOT A FAR RIGHT EXTREMIST. ROMNEY'S GOLD MEDAL SKILLS ON FLIP FLOPPING WON'T SAVE HIM AND HE WILL EMERGE AS THE ULTIMATE VICTIM OF HOW UNREASONABLE HIS PARTY HAS BECOME.

Stooges are folks who can be classified as puppets who follow someone, thing, or things with no valid reason or purpose. Moreover, you have insulted Obama but has not offered valid reasons why you would not vote for or dislike him. Obama, since 2008, has made clear his positions on education, energy, health care, foreign policy, immigration, social and economic issues. Additionally, he has presented clear plans on how to accomplish those positions and goals. Most of which, have been rebutted and shot down by a Congress who seeks nothing more to deter any progress he wishes to make. True, not every plan is the perfect match (realistically no president could ever create every plan perfectly), but at the end of the day what drives Obama are his own personal struggles as a common AMERICAN citizen, and his desires to want the best for others who identify with those struggles. He had to work from the bottom up LIKE MOST AMERICANS, so he is fully aware of what programs need to be in place to help those who, like him, wish to achieve the AMERICAN dream.

Alesia – you seem like an avid supporter of this president. I'm sure any politician would be happy with you as a supporter. I just happen to hold a different view of this president and his administration, actually, both parties have their issues right now. Their feeling of entitlement hurts this country and their lack of responsibility for anything they do is killing working Americans.
This president is very good at reading a teleprompter. I assume that is why you, and people like you, think he presents clear plans. Unfortunately, his outcomes do not usually have any type of positive impact on anything that will help this country or the economy. He and the dem could have done anything during the first two years, they had a majority. That line about congress blocking everything is just that – a line that the dems and their media shills put out there. As far as "working from the bottom up"? I feel safe in saying he has never worked a real job in his life.
It may be helpful to you to read his books. I think you would be surprised at who this guy really is.

Howard,in your case a republican that's knows his candidate is about to be caught in a landslide of sorts.Your job shipping Romney might need thorazine afterwards to calm himself down.No republican has made this country great Reagans,Bushs, whoever your brainwashed mind may come up with.Clinton cleaned up after Bush Sr.,Barack is cleaning up after Bush Jr. ,what a pair, two republicans that bought their presidencies, much like what Romneys trying to do...You republican hypocrites are like locusts, and thank God ,you only come out to destroy crap every four years.Democratic presidents ROOSEVELT,Kennedy,ClintonObama are the presidents that made and are making America great. No republicans, they just cause wars, depressions, recessions and any other calamity that they can conjure up.Fools we're not, you're the foolish hypocrites that can't even get your lies straight, you're so predictable, thanks for the laughs, just don't make it all in caps,I like most people can read..Maybe because your constipated,is that why you write with such anger,a beer enema will help and it'll get your ass drunk, like that ha!!!Hey,I'd like a pic of you with Boehner after the November election, both crying, priceless, just priceless. And no republicans were neutered during this message!!!How un-American.....

Another MSDNC watcher I see. Stop listening to the lies from the likes of Matthews, Schultz and the gang and do a little research for yourself. Last night Matthews talked about Romney's speech and told lie after lie about what he said. People like you think it is the truth then come on here and make yourself look like a fool.
Howard can get angry at times when responding to ignorant non-truthful posts, but he is usually right. I wouldn't go as far as saying people in this administration are in fact traitors, but they sure do not like successful working Americans. If you saw Matthews last night you would understand this comment.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but if you're insinuating that Obama's administration is admonishing affluent Americans, that's utterly preposterous! If you've been paying attention at all, you'd know that Obama hopes ALL Americans have an opportunity to gain that affluence, not just a select few- which is where the country headed under the Bush Administration. He has been pushing Congress to even the odds by increasing the tax burden on the wealthiest Americans, so that folks who can't afford car elevators and vacations in France (i.e. like Mitt Romney) aren't mostly responsible for paying for government programs and services.

Alecia – The first two years in office he could have passed anything. Nobody was blocking anything. After the election, once the dems were voted out, mostly because people were already fed up with the way his administration was headed.
Obama bashes the rich. I am not sure what you are reading, but this is a fact. He talks about fairness while he is pushing the people who already pay the majority of taxes to pay more and more. This is class warfare or class envy, whatever you want to call it. Talk to ANY small business owner. BO is killing small businesses in this country. We hear yesterday that over 200 banks are not making their loan payments back. This is major bad news for our economy and more evidence that the house of cards built by this, and the previous administration, is tumbling.
Why do you care what rich people buy? You care because this administration is so divisive and jelous of others who actually worked for a living and made it. And, before you tell me Romney's dad made all the money, it is a fact that ROmney has donated more money that he ever got from his dad. He also created more jobs than all the dems combined. He is what this country needs NOW!!!

John, you been listening to way too much Limbaugh ,ya have,I can tell.A typical brainwashed republican, Joseph Goebbels would be proud of crossroads and the like.Pure propaganda, plain and simple, these hypocrites got you and your republican sheep so screwed up ya vote for Bush all over again, and not even realize it.Seat down one night, you and your boys and read up on political history, see who started wars, who started depressions, recessions, ruined good economic policies and then read who cleaned them up,okay. That's your lesson partner, than come back and you'll have a different outlook, just like my other republican friend, who's always in denile, its simple just the facts, only the facts, plain and simple...good nite, sweet dreams...

      Ignorance is a disease.

Of course it would be nice if Obama could have pressed START on the microwave and in 1 minute, out popped a new and fresh economy, replacing the financial disaster that existed for 8 years under the Bush administration. Unfortunatley, since this is reality, and there are hundreds of millions of Americans who make up the economic system, most intelligent people recognize it will require more than a couple of years to fix 8 years of damage to that system.

Ignorance is indeed a disease. You seem to forget how the dot.com bubble blew up , how the economy was slowing, how the housing bubble was made worse, how US embassies were attacked, how the USS Cole was attacked, how the US was engaged in an air war over Bosnia and ALL this happened under CLINTON! None of that affected the overall economy? Some of this stuff happened in 2010, BEFORE Bush took office!

Please Alesia,I've wrote on these sites till the cows come home. For them ,ignorence is pure bliss, they're just sheep headed for the slaughter house.I explained of a famous propaganda teacher Joseph Goebbels, who before Hitler came into power in the early '30s told the young want a be leader, keep pounding lies in peoples heads, after awhile they'll start believing you,no matter what you tell them.Swift boat under T Boone Pickens took down the Viet Nam warhero Kerry during his run against Bush.He had them believing Kerry war a murderer, war criminal all with lies, its very simple ,very convincing and these republicans are factual truth it works...So be easy on them, their fragile minds have been hammered beyond repair with republican propaganda, they'll come around one day,I hope...Boehner never came back, poor soul!!!!

This week!! He's been flying around for the last 3 years on the taxpayers dime campaigning.. He was campaigning with the injection of funds to Solindra, with the auto bailout which didn't prevent bankruptcy but did cost 10's of millions of dollars to unions.. Ok.. I guess that was a payback...

Let's see, Obama campaign will run on.... HIS RECORD!!!.. No.. it sucks..
How about the economy!!! yeah.. well.. No.. job market has shrunk, more are unemployed, and shovel ready really wasn't as shovel ready as he said..
How about foriegn policy.. Shoot.. all that apologizing and bowing should have gained him some brownie points.. No.. We have Muslim brotherhood the "Prez" has put in leadership roles in Homeland Security and other posts of protection.. We have Iran getting ready to go nuclear, Russian KGB leaders waiting on Obama's re-election so he can have more "flexibiliy" whatever that means..
How about healthcare.. Hey it's only going to cost 8?? billion and it's all paid for.. Uhmm well no it's not.. Actually the cost was calculated when only money was collected for the program and no money was being paid out.. When that starts happening, Medicare reimbursements go down and the cost is over 14 trillion..

Hey how about those jobs created or saved that cost 214,000 / saved.. No jobs created those.. He will be the first president in recent history to have a net job loss of over 1M...

WHATS LEFT... WARS... Yeah WARS.. War on Women, War on the poor, War on the elderly... (who else can we think of .... ) War on the planet, etc...

For a president that was suppose to unite, he should is good at dividing..

  9. Mitts chief campaign strategist is comical Ali

Obama simply needs to stay on the bully pulpit and talk jobs while the rest of his campaign movement hammers home the stark contrast between a collapsing economy and a recovering economy. This strategy will most certainly work even if the economy stalls a bit. On most other issues Romney is toast. On foreign affairs, hes an embarrassing bafoon and a war halk at a time when Americans are out of war money and want no more war. On personal likability, Mitt loses to Obama. Women will likely find his bald faced flip flops and his secretiveness with his money unforgivable. These points will keep Obama ahead of Romney.
