Obama campaign: Democratic convention will stall Romney momentum

(CNN) - Senior Obama campaign officials said Mitt Romney will likely get a boost from the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida next week–but it won't last long.

With the Democratic convention following the GOP gathering one week later in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Obama campaign feels confident the attention surrounding their convention will halt any momentum Romney may gain as the new nominee.

You Obama stooges and libertards tried to convince everybody you'd win by a landslide in 2010 ... but, when all the B.S. cleared ... the House majority shifted to the GOP column. The American people are seeing through all the Obama B.S. ... and, in November, he will finally be dumped ... at which point Romney & Ryan can once again restore America to its former exceptionalism. BYE BYE BARACK ... AND GOOD RIDDANCE.

Here is a study preliminary report of accuracy of pollsters in 2008 when Obama won. I think everyone will find interesting.

Gallop has Obama ahead. NBC/ Wall Street Journal Poll has Obama ahead.
        POLICTIO -
Energy EXPERTS say Mitt's goal to achieve energy independence by 2020 would be almost impossible to reach and that there is NOT MUCH in what the Republican candidate laid out Thursday that counts as a concrete plan.
U.S reliance on imported petroleum HAS ALREADY DROPPED DRAMICALLY in the past few years, efficency improvements, changes in consumer behaviours and increases in domestic production including the shale gas boom.

REUTERS reporting – Romney has given himself 7 years to achieve Energy Independence. Experts don't agree with Romney's reliance on oil saying that a REAL PLAN doesn't rely on fuels that will run out in a few decades.
Here are FOUR PARTS of the plan that ENERGY EXPERTS think won't add up:
        1.) NURSING THE OIL ADDICTION
That doesn't solve the looming problem facing our country when oil is predicted to run out.
        2.) OFFSHORE PROBLEMS WOULD PERSIST
Remember the Gulf Oil Spill? Romney's plan relies heavily on industry calls to REMOVE Federal Oversight.
3.)DEMOCRATS AND MODERATES WOULD STILL BLOCK DRILLING ON FED. LANDS
The groundswell of opposition that Romney would need to form a working coalition is connected to the opposition shown to that idea by the American people.
4.)THE REST OF NORTH AMERCA DOESN'T NEED TO COOPERATE.
Needing two other countries to cooperate Canada and Mexico who he will have NO CONTROL OVER.

Bill Clinton will not be able to save obama from being kicked out of the White House. Justice will finally prevail ... and, it won't come from Eric Holder. The obama culture of corruption has been exposed. Soon you, and a few other obama stooges, who post here, will be the only obama rats who have not abandoned the obama sinking ship. Good bye ... and, good riddance.

Obama will not have the same hollyword support this time. He over promised and under delivered with regard to ‘Hope & Change’ and he is experiencing the consequences with the lack of celebrity support at this year’s DNC. Many celebrities are still making large financial contributions to the campaign, but they’re concerned about public displays of affection to a candidate with waning popularity. Expect B-list stars at the convention... at best,

GOP celebrities participate because of their ideology. Democrat celebrities do it for the party, and with unemployment over 8 percent, the parties just aren't that fun this time around.

However, the stadium where the GOP will be announcing “We Built This!” was financed primarily by the government. The Tampa Bay Times Forum arena, which houses the Tampa Bay Lightning, was built in 1996 as the “Ice Palace” with 62% government funds. The total budget for the project was $139 million, of which public money accounted for $86 million and team money accounted for $53 million.

Mitch McConnell has made it clear his only goal is to see Obama removed – not one mention of trying to create jobs, or improve the operation of government. These guys have you bent all over backwards. The worse part is they are going to hurt the job creators in the long run if they had their way. The have already hurt the job creators in the long run actually. It's time our government got back to work and funded – look sides need to work together to improve government efficiency and effectiveness, not tearing it down. Government is necessary, even in a capitalist system like ours.

    August 23, 2012 at 5:58 pm |
    • Frank Marshall Davis

What are you going to fund the government with, monopoly money? Rasing taxes on the "rich" will only last the govt a few weeks so where is the rest of the money for this grand utopia going to come from? You haven't quite thought this through, have you? If Obama said it was a good idea to drive a nail in your head you'd be heading to the hardware store.

We could solve a LOT of problems in this country if we just required that politicians live by the same rules as the rest of us.

Put THEM in 401-K's and Social Security for their retirement; put THEM in Medicare; have THEM follow the same "truth in advertising" laws businesses have to follow, let THEM pay for their own vacations instead of the taxpayers sending them on junkets; have THEM obey the law on discriminatory employment practices,Make Politicians Take a Pay Cut Before Cutting Money from Education and Social Services!

Hey they should cut their own benefits and services. no more lifetime benefits for 4 years of service!
They should NOT be getting lifetime health coverage when they have the money to pay on their own!

While too many find this as some sort of virtuous sign of frugality, in fact this is a form of theft from the taxpayer. We, the People, provide Members of Congress salaries that - while far from those of the K Street Lobbyist crowd - put them at three times the average American wage, provide them free gym access (where Paul Ryan ever so loves to work on on other peoples' dimes), give them far more generous health insurance than the vast majority of their constituents have, and provide what all but the most-pampered CEO would call lavish retirement (without counting the $s from revolving door (lack of ethics) lobbying that enriches so many on leaving office)

@Ray – with all due respect.. do you seriously expect Reid to pass ANY budget laden with Defense spending increases and anti-abortion riders?? The GOP has loaded EVERY piece of legislation with these SAME riders, just so they can blame the Dem's for no budget, no jobs, no progress. It's political theater that a person of average intelligence can see thru.. however, way too many folks are busy drinking the foreign-owned Faux Noise Entertainment spoutrage. I had honestly expected more, but the red state lemmings are very prevalent.

        Folks, Folks, Folks,
That is why we have Budget Debates. So we can move forward. True the Party that holds the most cards usually wins. Most of the time only Good Legistation only get's thru. Hell Bad Legistation also get's thru! But we have 3 Branches of Government so ther are checks and balances. Some bad legistatiion that got thru, with overwhelming majority in both houses are Social Securiy, Medicare, and Obama Care. It might not be so bad if we didn't have a 16 Trillion Dollar Federal Debt. That is why after 40 years of democrat rule the people threw out the democrats in 1994. That is why they again threw out the democrats in 2010. Now we have to see if they throw out Obama as well as more democrats. Stay tuned.

Is this the education level we get from Obama supporters? Ignorance is bliss. Look it up you may learn something for a change. Also please review your post before you submit. What do you think will happen if business owners are taxed more heavily? I know what they will do, downsize their company because they won't be able to afford all of their employees. What will this do? It will create fewer jobs for the United States, and put more people on unemployment/food stamps. What is Obama even promising in this election besides trying to attack Romney personally? There are good things out of Democratic parties, as well as Republican. Look at the big picture of this country instead of focusing on the one insignificant one that was completed during his first term... "Revoke don't ask don't tell". Or this stellar Obama Care health plan. By the way it's already affecting military members and making it harder for them to see the right doctor for the right reasons... Please tell me what he plans to do, anyone?

      • Cynthia L.

Small businesses making $250,000.00 and under a year WILL HAVE NO INCREASE IN TAXES.
U.S. Corporations only pay 13.4% in taxes here WHILE 19 Corporations of the member states of the ORGANIZATION for ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION and DEVELOPEMENT pay 16.1% OUR TAX CODE offers so many deductions, credits, and other mechanisms by which corportions can reduce their taxes and their "Effective tax-rate" is not high compared to other developed countries. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities have said TAX REFORM on Corporate tax rates could improve economic efficentcy and benefit the U.S. economy.

In an interview with Mitt and his wife Ann in this weekend's upcoming PARADE MAGAZINE, the Romney's are saying that because they want to keep their charitible donations to their church private they won't be releasing anymore tax returns. SO HILARIOUS because that's all they CROW ABOUT interview after interview about how generous they are in the donation department. Yeah, we all are gonna fall for that......NOT! Show us the returns.

There has been a Bain Document Dump by a New York Website GAWKER disclosing Audit Records and Investsments that shed light on Mitt's use of Bain, the private equity company founded by Romney that included the practices of shielding money through offshore accounts in the Caymen Islands as a way to avoid paying taxes on money earned in the United States.
18 Bain investments and 3 Hedge-funds in which Romney, his wife Ann and their children have invested show some of the Funds listed underlyingassets that included loans to companies ranging from "HEALTHCARE FIRMS" to the "LAS VEGAS SANDS" owned by casino mogul Sheldon Adelson who is also a MAJOR campaign contributor and is under investigation for bribing a foreign offical in China in connection with his casino there.

The democrats are getting desperate so they are saying anything to make us believe that they are way ahead of the republicans. Romney/Ryan are the right choice for November/12 unless you want to continue to live a life of disaster under another term with Obama. Obama is totally destroying America as we know it so that is why he has to be voted out of office in November/12.

The role the Clinton administration played in making banks lower lending standards because "everyone deserves a house"
The fact that the Dem lead house AND Senate voted for war and to fund said wars!
The fact that Obama also had NO BID CONTRACTS
The fact the Bush debt of $6.4 T was over 8 years and the remainder of $4.6 T was under less than 4 under Obama
The fact that the Dems controlled the checkbook when things went south!

Real Truth, I am sorry but you math doesn't add up. Clinton left Bush a 500 B surplus. George Bush added 6.4 T deficit. That leaves an 11 T deficit? Bill Clinton did not leave a 500 B surplus. He left a deficit of 4.6 T. This country has been in a deficit beginning around 1900. The banking and mortgage problem was caused by the Democrats in the House and possibly the Senate. They controlled Fannie Mae and pushed for loans to people who couldn't afford them. Barney Franks owns that one. The banking problem contributed to increases in unemployment. You really give George Bush remarkable credit. He was the lone person to cause all of these problems. Such power. Wouldn't it be nice if our current President had as much power as George Bush.

BlkPwr817, what is President Obama's plan to fix the economy and get the middle class back to work, more infrastructure jobs? Convince me. Give me some facts. Don't tell me I should vote for President Obama because I am stupid if I don't.

Steveo, the employment rate was down under Bush BECAUSE OF the amount of people SIGNING UP FOR THE MILITARY AFTER 9-11. Boy, that is a horrible way to improve employment. THANK YOU TO THOSE THAT SIGNED UP. HOO-AHH!!!!!

According to the CBO, active military personnel in 2000 and 2001 was about 1.4 million. A slight increase between 2000 and 2001. Active personnel in 2007 was about 1.4 million.

      • The REAL Truth...

@Caramon – Real Truth, I am sorry but you math doesn't add up. Clinton left Bush a 500 B surplus. George Bush added 6.4 T deficit. That leaves an 11 T deficit?
        ------------------------
There was NO math in my list. Just FACTS and TRUTH. Had you actually spent the time to READ my response, what I posted was $11 TRILLION NATIONAL DEBT... that has nothing to do with a budget surplus or deficit. Please educate yourself. You are embarassing true conservatives!

        - Evaporation of $500 BILLION surplus,

Sorry for my previous response. Where was the word budget? You do, of course, realize that a budget is planned expenses. I am certain it did not account for 911. As Cynthia stated, the cleanup alone was astronomical.

Better? The HIGHEST unemployment rate under Bush was7.2%. It is now 8.3%. 49% pay NO federal taxes, Food stamps are up! Better? Blame Bush if you will BUT Pelosi had the checkbook during the last few Bush years!

And, Bush never bothered to find bin-Laden after our soldiers found him the first time AND started two wars AND the economy tanked. All of Europe is barely hanging on AND we look a lot better than they do. Next.......

        August 24, 2012 at 11:27 am |
      • Steveo

What does Bin Laden have to do with the economy? DEFLECTION! btw the wars were started with Dem consent! Pelosi was holding the checkbook, remember?

      • Cynthia L.

The attack on our country on 9-11 was an economic blow. The clean-up alone was astronomical. bin-Laden was discovered to have information on other attacks to our nation when they found him..The cost of tracking him down -AGAIN – WAS HUGE. Since Georgie boy was hiding the true cost of the wars – he left us with the credit card bill that IS and WILL be a DRAG ON OUR ECONOMY for a long, long, LONG TIME. That is why he will always be known as THE DECEIVER-IN-CHIEF. Republicans are dangerous to our health. Fix yourselves and our nation will be able to move out of the muck you put us in.

Are we still in muck? I thought the stimulus was supposed to save us. i thought the promise was unemployment wasn't going to top 8%. What happened? Did Bush out smart Kerry, Edwards, Clinton! I thought England, France, and Germany (among others ) operated on the same intel. Speaking of intel, what happened to the budgets of the intel community under Clinton? Why were they cut ESPECIALLY since the World Trade Center was first attacked in 1993, the U.S.S Cole was attacked and US embassies in Africa were attacked? Why cut those budget at such a critical time? Why?

We will always be in the muck with Tea Party – FAR Right-Wing Republicans hanging around because they do not know how to govern. Some good people, in fact, drummed out of your party and replaced by the most dispicable losers ever to run for office – That is YOU Paul Ryan – That is YOU Eric Cantor – That is YOU Allen West -That is YOU Michele Bachmann YOU ARE LOSING BECAUSE AMERICA CANNOT STAND YOU.

So Steveo – how do you support the loss of some 700,000+ jobs a month starting in Sept '08, prior to Obama taking office. The unemployment rate is statistical rhetoric and relatively unimportant.

Bless you little heart Cynthia. You say good people were drummed out of the GOP. I actually agree I also agree that Pelosi and Reid FAILED to support that faction once know as the Blue Dog Dems. You remember them? Moderate and fiscally conseravtive Dems! They are now extinct!

    Humm,
Nice to see an honost statement out of the Obama Campaign for a change. ROMNEY MOMENTUM. While it isn't a fact yet, the word is Romney will be Elected. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. It would be nice if the latest jobs report showed a huge drop in unemployment but alas it isn't so!!

Nor will they listen to him.(Akin) They can't even get on the same page before their own convention. GOP would've been better if PALIN was on the ticket again.

Obama has already accused Romney of killing a guy's wife, being a felon, being a tax cheat, being a money launderer, closing factories just to abuse families, being a draft dodger, torturing a dog, and assaulting a fellow student. The Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama's America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.. The left is using any event as a distraction as it pursues the Saul Alinsky tactics of community organizing. Obama's game plan is to divide the community into the Haves and the Have Nots, make the Have Nots believe they are unjustly treated by the Haves, build resentment against the American social and economic system, use church congregations to mobilize street agitators, and lobby government for higher taxes and big-spending welfare programs in order to confiscate the wealth and power of the Haves and turn it over to the Have Nots.

    • The REAL Truth...

No, Obama did not "accused Romney of killing a guy's wife" nor any of the other blather you mentioned. It was a pro-Obama Super PAC – which, thanks to the right-leaning SCOTUS ruling – they are allowed to do under their 1st Amendment rights.

And who's game plan is it to divide us into the haves and have-nots?? I do believe that's the goal of the Grand Obstructionist Party... it's not hard to figure out. Your implications of Obama moving us toward socialism are clueless at best. Next you're going to claim that he's coming to take your guns away. It's such drivel that it doesn't warrant the space it's occupying.

You appear to be an expert on drivel, blather, and cluelessness ... and, how could poor little barack be expected to know what's going on with his corrupt administration, PAC's, and supporters, when he is never in Washington, doing his job. It's too bad doing your job has to get in the way of celebrity photo ops, vacations, lavish dinners, and fund raisers ... poor little baarack.
