Breaking rules: Obama, Romney try to rain on each other's parade

(CNN) - When President Barack Obama's campaign announced plans for a full-court press while Republicans hold their convention in Tampa, Florida, this week, some veteran political watchers marked the end of an era.

After all, as much as there has ever been accepted "rules" of presidential politics, it was once a given that the opposing candidate ceded the convention week to his rival - it was the polite thing to do.

Instead, the Obama campaign is doing anything but. Not only will surrogates for the president blanket Tampa and key battleground regions, but the campaign's three key figures will also be doing their best to steal some of Mitt Romney's orchestrated thunder this week.

On Tuesday, the day Ann Romney and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are scheduled to address the convention in prime time, Obama will kick off a two-day, three-state tour of swing states that include stops at college towns in Iowa, Colorado, and Virginia. The Obama campaign strategy: contrast the expectedly older demographic that historically is represented among Republican convention attendees with images of the president rallying thousands of enthusiastic young people.

Oh goody. What will Ann be told to tell us now? I can hardly wait. Whenever I get to hear a woman with no brain talk about stuff she knows nothing about in a condicending tone, man o'man. I just can't wait.

Ann Romney has dealt with multiple sclerosis and has as much right to speak on health issues as anyone. Having to deal with such disease requires courage. What issues have you dealt with that you feel you can insult her.

Ann Romney deserves your respect. She is a courageous woman ... who beat cancer, is constantly battling M.S. ... and, raised 5 sons. What have you accomplished ... besides being an obnoxious coward ... voicing insults from the shadows?

Let's talk about the biggest shouter, rude-guy getting ready to introduce Robme at the Convention in Tampa. Yup, you guessed it, Chris Christie!!
Chris Christie likes to spout off about the "Jersey Comeback", the supposed to be recovery of his state's economy.
Alas!! Mr. Christie has told reporters that he won't be 'beating his chest' so to speak, about the "Jersey Comeback" in his keynote address.
WHY NOT?? The lastest figures show his state with the – wait for it- 4TH HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE in the country!! COMEBACK MEET THE SKIDS!!!
New Jersey's 9.8 unemployment rate is NOW significantly HIGHER THAN MICHIGAN who has had a TRUE COMEBACK thanks to the saving of the Auto Industry.

Welfare is a jobs program, You have to be working if you are abled-bodied. It is temporary and it is meant to help those that need it find training and stable job opportunities. Pray you never need the help, because you would be happy to keep it from others that do. It could be you.

AMAZING ... how you obama stooges try to imply that Romney has sunk to the same gutter level of politics and lies as obama. The way obama and biden trashed Palin, her young daughter, Hillary Clinton, the Romney's, etc., etc., ... is 10 times as ugly and monstrous as anything the Romney people have said, or done. Thank God, the American people are starting to see through your LIES. Even obama spending a half a trillion dollars to trash Romney, can't keep the truth from ultimately coming out. Save America from obama's culture of corruption ... elect Romney & Ryan in November !!!

Maybe it's Taxing the So-Called rich out of Existance? A real great plan. Who, prey tell will fill all those Grocery Shelves so all those Welfare Recipitents will have food?? Who??

The Tax Policy Center estimates that for tax year 2011, 46% of households will end up owing nothing in federal income taxes. From CNN.

I find it somewhat ironic the number of people who pay no taxes believe others should pay more for the equivalent of a fair share. What exactly is a fair share? Is it as much as people like you want? The CBO has reported that allowing tax breaks to end for those making over 250K will increase revenue by 700 billion over the next ten years. This averages 70 biliion each year to balance a deficit growing more than 1 trillion each year.

There are plenty of people who are not wealthy but are greedy. Greed is simply the desire for something unearned. Too many people expect entitlements.

Marc Faber, the noted Swiss economist and investor, has voiced his concerns for the U.S. economy numerous times during recent media appearances, stating, “I think somewhere down the line we will have a massive wealth destruction. I would say that well-to-do people may lose up to 50 percent of their total wealth.”

Probably because we keep spending far more than we take in, these $1trillion annual deficits can't last forever, eventually we'll collapse. That's simple math yet try telling that to a lefty who worships Obama, they refuse to accept reality. Obama is quite a magician, he makes $1trillion disappear right before our eyes and still keeps saying we have to spend more, more, more.

    From WND:

Democrats host radical Muslims at Charlotte

    by Jack Minor

    August 24, 2012

he Democratic Party is sanctioning a Muslim prayer event in conjunction with its nominating convention in Charlotte that will feature a radical Islamic leader who has called for the overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government and establishment of Islamic law.

“Jumah at the DNC” is being presented by the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs, or BIMA, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1. A brochure for the event says the group has “been authorized by the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to conduct Jumah prayer as well as host festivities and Islamically related functions.”

BIMA claims the event is nonpolitical and nonpartisan. However, the brochure for the event has a section for participants to “support the DNC” and make a contribution in an amount ranging from $500 to $10,000.

The Washington Times reported the DNC lists the Muslim event as an “official function” and claims that the Islamic leaders of the program are typical of the DNC community.

The event is expected to draw up to 20,000 Muslims and will include a Friday Jumah prayer ritual and an issues conference. A letter posted on BIMA’s website says its purpose is to “address the concerns and issues that are challenging to the American Muslim Community in the 21st century.” The letter calls on Muslims to stand up and “repel the outright injustices being perpetuated against the American Muslim Community.”

BIMA spokesman Jibril Hough told the Charlotte Observer that among the grievances are the Patriot Act, National Defense Authorization Act and the New York Police Department’s wiretapping program that Hough says was used to spy on Muslims.

Islam expert Robert Spencer, director of Jihad, said it is apparent the group plans to use the event as a platform to claim Muslims are being persecuted in America.

“A reading of its agenda makes it clear that the conference will be used to portray Muslims as the innocent victims of a bigoted, racist, ‘Islamophobic’ government and law enforcement establishment that unfairly scapegoats Muslims for the misguided deeds of a few misunderstanders of Islam on Sept. 11,” he said.

Spencer noted that Hough’s mosque, the Islamic Center of Charlotte, is owned by a Muslim Brotherhood front group. The North American Islamic Trust, or NAIT, which owns the mosque, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist funding case. The largest terrorist funding case in American history, it resulted in multiple convictions.

When confronted about the Muslim Brotherhood connection on a radio show, Hough refused to denounce NAIT, saying he was “not necessarily” a member of the group.

Hough has also stated in a video that Muslims have been living in America since before the first Christians arrived.

The Grand Imam for the Jumah at the DNC is Siraj Wahhaj, one of the most sought-after speakers by Muslim organizations.

WND reported Wahhaj urged the violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government and the establishment of Islamic law. Additionally, Wahhaj was listed as a “potential unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and testified as a character witness for “blind sheikh” Omar Abdel-Rahman, a convicted WTC terrorist mastermind.

He has also is on record saying Islam is a militant religion.

“We don’t have a turn-the-other-cheek philosophy” like the Christians, he said. “Allah has given us permission to fight them” so that “the word of Allah can be uppermost.”

I think the POTUS has sat back and taken all he is going to take from here on out. The Republican, T-Party, Concertive, Right Wing people have used Racial comments, and demonized him enough in every aspect. The have held this country from 1. 5 million jobs John Boehner ect has on his desk for the last 1 1/2 years. They deliberately stopped everything in congress so the POTUS would fail in his economy. We the People know exactly what they are doing and come November we will also show them in out votes that it didn't work.

At the time that our current leader took office, his platform focused on the importance of the economy. President Obama had full control of the House and the Senate. ACA passed, the stimulus passed as well as a large number of new regulations. President Obama had two years without Republican barriers and the economy did not move forward.

As far as racial comments, please provide some true examples of racial comments from the Right. The only form of racial comments I see are those who believe we no longer have a right to disagree with the President on anything.

If he plays the race card then he's run out of everything else, but then again he can't run on the economy or the national debt. It's a weak card to play and it has already been used countless times by his shills, people are sick of it, except of course, lefties like you.

Falacies need to be pointed out this campaigning season.

    1) The makers outnumber the takers if you count Asians, India, and immigrant labor.
    2) The job takers outnumber the job makers.
    3) work is not dignified if you cant support yourself with what you earn. Slavery, indentured servitude, and serfdom were outlawed hundreds of years ago. Who remembers this? Not our politiians.
