I think your wrong, what I see is hate and bigotry won! I have never experienced more self-righteous than those who want to put a "black" man back in office just because of his skin tone forget about his failed policies. I think you should re-examine and your statement proves my point.

A man of civility, great humility, empathy, patience and a high level of intelligence was reelected to the highest position in the land. He just happens to have a Black Daddy, a white Mother and a heart that beats RED. We love you President Obama. Thanks for giving of yourself on such a high level. Please keep on loving your American citizens of all colors, races, creeds and languages. Agape love will win everytime. It's free, try some.

      • Speaking Out

I had an older white guy tell me they started a pool to bet how soon Obama would be "taken out." (After the first election)I told him he better pray that does not happen....For him to remember the rioting that happened after MLK was killed.
The Racist bast–d is lucky I did not kick his ass, or turn him in to HR. (I am an American born African American) All I ask for is a chance to use my skills and education to earn a decent wage, and to be treated with respect. Some people think the only Blacks in the White House should be cooking or cleaning. Bullshit!

miles – I think you misspoke. That is exactly who won tonight. The deepest divide between citizens in the history of the country, promoted by Mr. President himself.

You don't hate, you just disappointed. You bet the wrong horse.

That is ok, you still in the American family, regardless how you vote.

There is more work to do, just pick up yourself, cross that aisle, shake some hands, and go to work.

band together is stronger than single. you are not alone. stand up and move forward with all of us, brother.

I've always found that those who claim others are bigots are the worse kind of bigot. If all that Obama has going for him is the color of his skin then we are in terrible shape. I believe, however, that Obama is a Trojan horse, a closet communist, just waiting for the right moment to spring it on everyone. Hopefully, I'm wrong. Either way, I don't think he can handle the economy and his overseas policy stinks. On the other hand, I know Romney could handle the economy but, he would have used draconian measures to make it happen.

      November 7, 2012 at 8:10 am |
  4. Ron

Cause everyone who voted for Romney is a hateful bigot Miles? Its disgraceful how the left thinks. White people are racist because 50+% voted for Romney when 97% of the black population voted for Obama?

    November 7, 2012 at 12:54 am |

Actually Obama got 93% of black votes :/

Now Obama should consider asking Romney to join his cabinet as Commerce Secretary :-)

to a greater and stronger nation. While we have miles to go, we have come so far. I am so happy and proud to have cast a vote in 2008 that helped to transform the way many in our nation think. And today I cast the same vote I did in 2008, for our President and our country!
God Bless President Obama and God Bless America!!

You don't seem to understand that America depends on immigrant labor. You would probably be the first to complain if they all left because of the negative impact on food prices. The only issue is creating immigration system that dramatically reduces the amount of illegal immigrants in favor of legal immigrants. You also seem to miss the point that with the sole exception of American Indians, we are all immigrants.

SO YOU'RE SOLUTION IS TO LET THEM GO BANKRUPT AGAIN? THIS IS WHY YOU ARE A MORON. NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT PEOPLE BUY CARS BECAUSE THEY LIKE THE CAR. YOU SOUND LIKE JILTED A TOYOTA CAR SALESMAN.

        November 7, 2012 at 2:27 am |
    • Ray E. (Georgia)

I don't have to boycott the auto companies. Who the hell can afford a new car? Ford, who was making good strides in quality fell off the wagon with the new models. Worse than average quality. Gm and Chrysler not too good either. When will they learn? After seeing what they bought in this election, they may have buyers remorse too.

Bruce....You are not off the hook either. How about donating proceeds from your current concert tour to these people in need? Do you really need that money? There are people without jobs, losing thier homes that need help and need it now. Calling on vocal Holllywood to help them! Come on...One of your houses could support at least 10 families. Leonardo? Amazing election results. You can sweep your way into office without a defined plan on the backs of music artists, talk shows, and negative attacks against your opponent, and with the lowest productivity in history. Check the facts – highest unemployment rate since Franklin Roosevelt, astronomical debt, and slower than acceptable growth in the economy.
In the end it becomes a popularity contest instead of a choice of experience, vision, and results.

His acceptance speech was like another campaign speech. He couldn't come out to speak to America by himself on the stage. He had to have people behind him sitting in stands cheering him on. Presidential? Half the country doesn't think so – and has never thought so. God help us.

Albert Einstein gave what is now a widely-accepted definition of insanity: “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.” America, you elected the same leadership of the House, Senate, and Presidency that has existed the past two election cycles, both Democrat and Republican. Either you liked the results you got the past four years - which is hard to imagine - or you are (collectively) insane.

Things can change for the better . . . IF we change the way we do them.

      November 7, 2012 at 1:49 pm |
    • jean2009

Actually, it is less than half the country...if you check the numbers. I'm sure now that Mitch McConnell no longer is diligently working to make the President a one term president he will be reapprasing his future course, and now that Grover Norquist is irrelevant John Boehnor will not be held hostage to a narrow radical right-wing viewpoint. It is time for the GOP to reach across the isle and quit acting like they won the last election and this one.....they did not.

The majority of the American people have spoken with both the electoral college vote count and with the popular vote count...as in horse shoes the President's win should be called a ringer. If you know anything about horseshoes throwing a ringer takes a lot more than just luck.

Of course people were cheering...don't lie and say you wouldn't have be cheering if Romney had won.

More taxes, more spending and more debt, without a budget. Obama will shatter all records he's already set with debt.

    November 7, 2012 at 5:58 am |
  19. Kool-Aid Police

Looks like the voters like free-bees so look for more Obamaphones, welfare and food stamps. Obama has also been sitting on a pile of new EPA regulations that will take $1trillion out of the economy. The rest of us will have to work a lot of overtime to pay for all this stuff.

    November 7, 2012 at 7:09 am |
    • Cynthia L.

The RICH will have to cough up the cash – the rest of us have been picking up the tab for far too long.
Think after Hurricane Sandy we will get serious on climate change and start shoring up our infastructure. Time to pull together.
Kool Aid turns Lemonade. Tomorrow he'll be Sour Grape. So predictable.

      November 7, 2012 at 9:23 am |
      • John

If the rich are taxed at 100% it will raise about half of the 1 trillion needed to support the new Obamacare taxes kicking in 2013/2014. Obama/Biden told you they would need to raise 1.1 trillion (or as Joe said, 150 trillion, 1 point trillion, 15 trillion). The number is 1.1 trillion and it will need to come from ALL OF US.

        November 7, 2012 at 10:01 am |
      • Kool-Aid Police

In Obamacare all of our taxes are going up and if they propose something for climate change that will mean increases in costs too. Then we have the sequester which could raise several taxes across the board if it's allowed to happen. The debt will reach $20trillion.

        November 7, 2012 at 10:12 am |
      • Ray E. (Georgia)

The rich have tried to pick up the tab. However they can't pay a good salery, pay all benifits and welfare too. Unemployment may get worse in the coming months. You asked for it, it is coming.

WHILE THE REPUBLICANS RETAIN THE HOUSE, THE EXTREMIST TEA PARTY REPUBLITARDS HAVE TAKEN A BEATING AND YET THEY WILL NEVER LEARN, BUT WE ARE ASKING THE FEW REMAINING SANE REPUBLICANS OUT THERE TO STAND TOGETHER WITH THE PRESIDENT AND SOLVE THE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS OUR NATION IS FACING.

WELL, MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH FLORIDA? EVERY FREAKING ELECTION AND THEY HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. USE THE BRAZILIAN SYSTEM, USE BETTER TECHNOLOGY, DO SOMETHING! Congrats to President Obama and V.P. Biden. Even though Republicans tried to suppress the vote, pour in HUGE AMOUNTS OF CASH, lie on their campaign ads and on the stump, Mitt flip-flopping like a fish at the bottom of a dinghy, refusing to let the American people see more than one tax-return, they still couldn't win.
The most satisfying thing I saw last night on Fox was Karl Rove panic stricken. Time to take a permanent vacation to somewhere far away, Karl. Maybe on some gas-giant planet where you'd fit right in.

Carmon...I am 77, I am white, and I am a woman. I have been a lifelong Democrat my father was working middle-class. Strange I don't fit your idea of the demographic, but it makes perfect sense to me.

These are the facts: I married into a large Republican family, my husband became a democrat, and currently of his many brothers and sisters only 4 are not democrats, two of them are registered Independents (one votes with the Democrats and one with the Republicans), 2 are Republicans, and 6 of them have made good coverts as union wage Democrats. As my youngest son summed it up...."When you come from working middle class no matter how much your income increases...just remember it was a middle-class working income that bought your education". That man who is no longer a kid has good sense.

Of course Jean, I don't expect everyone to fit into a demographic. I was just curious why people drift Conservative as they grow older. It is something even Winston Churchill commented on.

Obama won the batle but did he (The Liberal's) win the war? I doubt it. For 75 years the Liberals have been in charge. All we have to show for it is a over 16 Trillion Dollar Federal debt. With Obama Care being fully implinated what will happen to employment? Not good but we will see.

Are you a moron? When Obama came into office the deficit was already 1 trillion thanks to your boy Bush. Bush left a legacy of unpaid wars, unpaid tax cuts, unpaid medicare plan and policies that nearly drove this country into depression. Much of Obama's deficit was to clean up the mess you Republicans made. With resprect to Obamacare, that is a republican idea that was popular until Obama adopted it. I guess you would you rather keep paying for emergency room visits for uninsured citizens? "Oh – we have ambulances that pick people up and take them to hospitals for care." said the moron Romney. And he calls himself a business man? That was the stupidest thing I ever heard a candidate say. He lost the election because his ideas are 50 years old.

Don't forget that 11 trillion of that is Bush. Please don't forget the 2 wars that were not paid for. Please Please don't forget the stock market crashing and everyone's 401k looking like a big joke. Oh yea and never forget the 700,000 jobs that were being lost. And good ole Wall Street with no regulations. All of this was b4 Obama took office. Now look at where we are. 401k has doubled. over 5 million jobs in private sector, one war over next won bout to be ended. And yes even 1 trillion dollars taken off the deficit. You may not have know all this because you are so busy hating. I don't know abt you but I sure am much better off. We are getting better even economist have said it but republicans and those who can't stand to see a black man calling the shots refuse to believe that the economy is getting better. How can you wish for America to fail just because the President is black. If you can honestly say that it's bc of his policy's then you are not looking at the facts. How can I forget. GM is alive and Bin Laden is dead.

The New Test is now on McConnell and Co. to stop trying to block and impede progress in Congress and Compromise instead of Filibustering every single piece of legislation put forth by the Democrats!

We can’t have four more years of a Congress of Hate and gridlock from the Republicans..

TERM LIMITS is the answer. Get rid of people like McConnell and Cantor for a start!

    November 7, 2012 at 1:14 pm |
    • Steveo

You really don't want term limits! That means Reid and Pelosi go bye bye, too! You just want the GOP gone! Congress is NOT going to vote themselves out of power! Ain't gonna happen!

REID AND PELOSI GOING BYE-BYE? I WON'T LOSE SLEEP OVER IT. IF THEY CAN'T GET THE JOB DONE, THEY ARE USELESS IN MY BOOK.

December, my friend. My overall point is Congress is not going to vote for term limits. Heck, we had Strom Thurmond (100 years old) and Robert Bryd (in his 90s) who was still serving at that advanced age. Why? Seniority! Both guys died in office! Those with senority pretty much get what they want for their states. How effective can you be at that age? It is not about effectiveness! At one time yes, but not anymore. Congress is not voting for term limits. Neither side, neither chamber. This is why there are precious few new ideas up there!

Hey Steveo, maybe they should have term limits specifically on GOP members. That would work wouldn't it?

        Caramon,

LET'S NOT BE SILLY ABOUT THIS. IF TERM LIMITS HELP IN GETTING THE MESSAGE ACROSS TO ALL MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, WHATEVER PARTY AFFILIATION, THAT WE WILL NOT TOLERATE INACTION AND GRIDLOCK THEN SO BE IT. IN MY OPINION, THERE NEEDS TO BE NEW LEADERSHIP IN CONGRESS IF NOTHING GETS DONE BEFORE THE END OF THIS YEAR.

STEVEO IS RIGHT HOWEVER THAT THE POSSIBILITY OF TERM LIMITS HAPPENING IS ABOUT AS LIKELY AS ME WINNING THE LOTTERY.

Term Limits = "feel free to fire yourselves!" Not gonna happen!

    OK what exactly changed?
Obama in the White House? Check
The Dems controls the Senate? Check
The GOP controls the Congress? Check

Does that mean four more years of the last four years with gridlock and nothing done? Does it mean otherwise? Does it mean a REAL multi faceted plan to address the economy or not?

Am I bitter? No! Am I disappointed? Yes! None the less, I am still an American who wants the best for my country! The people spoke last night! Now it is time to go to work! Fix the economy, heal the country, and reach across the aisle. This is what was promised! Let's see what happens!

We've all woke up the morning after and election and felt disappointed none so painful as when SCOTUS decides for everyone.....but then you pick yourself up and go on and hope that people can put away their bitterness and reach across the isle and do what they swore and oath to do which is serve the American people...not Grover Norquist

No doubt! Both parties are going to have to WORK because they are suppose to work for us! We sent folks to DC to work. It is time for BOTH parties to work. Even Robert Gibbs said, last night NOBODY gets all that they want! He is correct! We will see! This is still America and we know how to get it done! Now it is time!

First off, OBAMA WON! OBAMA WON! OBAMA WON! FOUR MORE YEARS! YEA!!! Had to get that out. Anyways, Pres. Obama's Victory was a victory for the middle and lower classes, and was a defeat for big money, neo-con's, racist, and the Tea Party. As a person, Romney actually seemed to be an ok guy, if he had been elected, on his own, would probably have been an OK President, but he would have been controlled by those far-right groups and that would have been really bad. However, with the right's defeat it gives Pres. Obama a chance to set an agenda that favors the middle/lower classes and progressives for years to come, kind of how Reagan did in the 1980's for Conservatives and the wealthy. In regards to House Republicans, they HAVE to work with the President now; any further obstruction from them will simply seal their political doom for 2014 and beyond. Huge victory for President Obama and Progressives! YEA!

Yes, it does make me smile to think of all the money the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Karl Rove, Donald Trump, and Citizens United spent only to prove ....that in the end the American people can decipher what is really important, and .that we can not be bamboozled. We can still do the one thing that corporations and vast riches cannot do we can VOTE. The afore mentioned should now know that the American working person is not a serf which can be enslved and wholely owned by big corporations.

Only half the story Jean! BOTH sides spent ridiculous amounts of money. At one time it was "for the people, by the people". Not so sure anymore! Not with all that money flying around!

We have to remember to hold congress and Senate accountable for doing there jobs. In two years there will be elections and please believe people are tired of them not doing there job we pay them to do. I think you will see some work done bc if if not America will vote them out. The President signs legislation into a bill. Congress and Senate have to first pass legislation. We are Watching Bohner, McConnell,

'America the beautiful' or did I hear someone say "Obama the beautiful". Congratulations Obama! Congratulations America the wonderful Country!!! I dedicate the Obama win to the American people in particular Obama himself, Mrs Obama the embodiment of the human struggle. I always remember Mrs Obama's speech at DNC convention that spur President Clinton to act. President Clinton could not have said all he said if not for Mrs Obama's speech. I hope President Clinton would retire in peace. I cannot imagine President Obama loosing in President Clinton's back yard. What a world. My special thanks go to Obama's campaign manager, special adviser, grassroots volunteers, the wonderful Vice President Biden and the Obama daughters. I would also add myself – Justina Ahme for my faith in the American system and so do all Americans. Bravo!!!

The leftists in America have been working for this dayfor decades and it finally came. They won! The country is bitterly divided and on one knee. Lets see what this 47% can do for America...see them bring in the jobs. The hope. The change. Who will they blame next?

    November 7, 2012 at 3:40 pm |
  36. JUSTINA AHME

As an economist I wish to advice the Romney's 47% victims of America. If you do not have a successful small business by 2016 when President Obama leaves office, please forget it. This is because Obama represents hope. If Obama can do it – we can!. So go and look at all existing opportunities in your neighborhood/community/State/nation and get up and go and go well. I think Obama in his second term should worry about promoting small business that includes effective policies and incentives, trainings, innovative education. Also, the Africa Continent is a problem. The problem with Africa is not more money but quality education. Most Africa leaders at the various levels of government are illiterates and therefore practice quasi – capitalism. Most Africa leaders cannot define capitalism for instance, so what are they practicing? Most members of the legislative arm of government in Africa are illiterates so what are they practicing? Not enough education, economics and technology in Africa. Apart from the the American economy, wars in Syria, etc, Obama should worry about Africa human rights, education and transfer of technology and related issues. Read a lot about the writings of Adam Smith and above all the Bible particularly the New Testament that teach us how to include the basic principles of morals, ethics as the foundational principles of capitalism. Wish you well Mr. President!!!

Africa is coming apart at the seams...the radicals have moved in there, obama handed them Libya and Egypt... time for us to pull out of there and build a good defense against attacks...they will come again for us. Israel is nuked up, war is on the horizon...and so is a global economic meltdown. good luck obama, you are going to need it. p.s. President Bush wishes you good luck too.

  37. TaxKill2014

Well now that we cannot count on the government to undo the unlawful and unfair obama heatlh care laws we must do it ourselves....fortunatly it will not be that difficult.

Here is the loophole in the whole thing...it is funded by the IRS by the biggest tax increase in history. the tax will be collected on a seperate tax form that will begin in 2014. Its easy...put that form right in the recycle box where it belongs and pay nothing. Tell everyone you know to do the same. Tell them to tell their friends and family. Spread the word. If a quarter of the population were to refuse to pay the program would die from lack of funds. Of course the IRS would be upset but seriously what are they going to do if millions participate?
