Middle East peace meeting gets low billing at the White House

WASHINGTON (CNN) – While the budget talks were high on President Obama’s agenda Tuesday, he had another relatively important meeting on his schedule at the White House.

Remember Middle East peace?

The president met with Israeli President Shimon Peres in the Oval Office followed by a working lunch in the Old Family Dining Room. Both events were out of the view of television cameras but that didn't keep the leaders from speaking to the press in other forums.
