Obama's Indonesia trip hinges on volcano mood

NEW DELHI, India (CNN) - Amid speculation and at least one report that the White House is considering canceling the Jakarta leg of President Obama's Asia tour due to volcanic ash, a senior administration official suggested no final decision had been made.
"We are proceeding with plans to depart for Indonesia tomorrow," the official said. But as a dangerous mix of ash and clouds continues to be released from the Indonesian volcano, the official cautioned "we are continuing to monitor."

President Obama has made two previous attempts to visit Indonesia where he spent time as a boy. The first trip was scrapped so Obama could deal with health care reform. The next visit was postponed due to the Gulf oil spill.
