Konnichiwa Yokohama!

We finally made it to Yokohama, which means our whirlwind Asian tour is drawing to a close. The President still has a busy schedule ahead as he attends the APEC Summit. He addresses the kickoff session in just a few hours as well as attending a number of working groups, cultural events and an official dinner. Before he leaves on Sunday he plans to visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, one of the most famous icons of Japan located at the Kotoku-in Temple in Kamakura.

In addition we plan to show you some of the sights and sounds of Yokohama, the second largest city in Japan. The prominent port city is located just south of Tokyo. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing the Yokohama Marine Tower, the tallest inland lighthouse in the world. There is also Yokohama’s Chinatown to check out – the largest Chinatown in Japan and one of the largest in the world!

As it’s after 4a our time in Japan, it’s time to grab some zzzs before another day starts. If you know of an attraction we just shouldn’t miss in Yokohama, share it with us. We will get to as many as possible!

Don't miss Aka Renga Soko (Red Brick Warehouse). The Yokohama Glass store is one of my favorites for souvenirs/gifts. Walking around at Yokohama station is an experience in itself and the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is fun if you like ramen.
