Obama bounds on stage in N.C.

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (CNN) – After enthusiastically touring biotech classrooms at Forsyth Technical Community College, President Obama carried momentum to the stage where he gave a speech about education and innovation.  He weighed in on the debate over tax negotiations back in Washington saying that there are still "serious debates still taking place" over extending the Bush-era tax cuts.

"I believe we should keep in place tax cuts for workers and small businesses that are set to expire. We've got to make sure that's we're coming up with a solution, even if it's not 100-percent of what I want or what the Republicans want. There's no reason that ordinary Americans should see their taxes go up next year," Obama said.

Mr. President don't forget about the ones that have been unemployed since 09/2008 and been looking for work since. And have been cut off of unemployment in september and still applying for work and not getting hired because there is so many people applying with only 1 job offer available for every position being offered. Don't forget to extend the unemployment benefits for us until we can find work. This is the only income we can depend on wright now until we find work, thank you.

I am a liberal, and I voted for you. But your stance on tax cuts is naive and stupid. Grow a pair and fight for your principles. Americans don't care if you change the culture of Washington. They care about the economic abyss we are in and they are waiting for your leadership. It's time!

wake up people do yall even get the big picture. the democraratic congress could of been acted on this legislation but there sorry asses didnt. he is trying to help yall sorry asses out by not allowing taxes to be raised on any middle class or lower class americans. hello . yea it was messed up that the higher earners get to to keep there tax cuts but it shows who the republicans are really for. his heart was in the right place. if theses measures did not get done we would be getting the shit taxed out of us. time will show that it was very smart approach. It is like being in a marriage, im not gonna agree with everything, but some things you have to deal with.

cyrus- Sadly we have a president that is a spineless, inept leader. He has no experience in anything resembling leadership. He is paralyzed with fear and indecision. He is a wimp and will become even less popular in the months ahead.

He is in no way a great leader. He can talk the talk, but he can't walk the walk. Taxes should not be going up when the US is in a financial meltdown.

President Obama, is not cabable of fighting for what is rightl He all talk and without any spine. In 2011 the new elected Party of Hell No -GOPs will be in Washington and they are just going to join the party at blocking everything that needs to be done. For the President to state last week that he is going to continue to fight the Republicans on the tax debate is just another false promise. He has had two years and afraid to show that he has a spine and cable of not allowing the Republicans leadership from walking all over him. He could have and should have use his elective order tool to get things done that would have been right for the American people. He should have stood up to the Republicans instead of criticizing his base and supports for demanding that he stand up anf fight for his principles intead of always caving into the Party of Hell No. Now it appears that he is working with them and sending the message that he does not give a darm about adding to the nation's debt bill by extending the Bush Tax Cuts. The Party of Hell No are going to use this extending the Bush Tax Cut and adding to the debt in 2012 make sure that President Obama will not be re-elected heck he continue to give thme more stuff daily to use against him and the Democrats. I wonder just how many other deals he has promissed the GOP without even a discussion with the him Democrats leadership and members. I guess back room deals and board room deals are what we the poeple have to look forward to over the next 2 years.
