Obama: 'Plenty of time to campaign in 2012'

(CNN)-  President Obama said early Tuesday that he hopes Republican leaders "realize that there will be plenty of time to campaign for 2012 in 2012."

During a surprise visit to the press cabin aboard Air Force One on his way back from his vacation in Hawaii, Obama said he hopes to build on the progress made during last month's lame-duck session.

"My hope is that John Boehner and Mitch McConnell will realize that there will be plenty of time to campaign for 2012 in 2012. And that our job this year is to make sure that we build on recovery," Obama said.

On Monday, House Republicans announced that they plan to address one of their top campaign issues- repealing the health care reform law- immediately after taking control of the House, and that a final vote on a repeal will likely take place next Wednesday.

Obama did not specifically address the GOP's plans but acknowledged, "there's gonna be politics, that's what happens in Washington" when asked if he expects a chilly reception from the new Republican majority.

"They are going to play to their base for a certain period of time. But I'm pretty confident that they're going to recognize that our job is to govern and make sure that we are delivering jobs for the American people and that we are creating a competitive economy for the 21st Century," Obama said.

What would you call Obama's move to lower taxes to the tune of $900 billion if not campaigning after his shellacking last November? He's been campaigning to reinvent himself as a moderate ever since!

The Liberal trolls are out in force today ... They are schooled in Alinsky smear tactics, just like when they were accusing everybody of racism. These brain washed Obamatons lash out with vile insults whenever they loose ground, or whenever barack, nancy, or harry get exposed for the traitors they are.

Strange Obama says there is plenty of time to campaign in 2012. He has done nothing but campaign since he ran for the IL Senate. He campaigned two years for US Senate (while employed as IL State Senator), campaigned two years for president (while employed as US Senator) and campaigned close to two years for his friend Harry Reid and other buddies). When is this man ever stopped campaigning? Better yet, when is he going to stay in Washington and do his job????

@Glory; thank you for you gracious comment to PRESIDENT OBAMA! I hope he knows that there are a few of us out here, who still love him, respect him, and above all, respect his position as PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES; and we know that you are doing everything you can do to 'SAVE' this nation; and not to finish 'TEARING IT DOWN'! Glory, you are right! May GOD bless him and his family. I continue to pray for GODS' covering of protection over him! VAYA CON DIOS! President Obama, GO WITH GOD!
