Obama meets with Pakistani president

WASHINGTON (CNN) –President Obama met with President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan on Friday and stressed the importance of the relationship between the two countries.

In a late morning meeting in the Oval Office, their discussion focused on both countries efforts to fight terrorism and promote regional stability, which included the work to promote a peaceful and stable outcome in Afghanistan the White House said in a written statement.

Obama also told Zardari he is looking forward to visiting Paksitan later this year.

Zardari, who is also in Washington to attend a memorial service for Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, met with Vice President Biden earlier this week when Biden made a visit to Pakistan.

Did they discuss that Taseer was murdered because he supported an imprisoned Christian lady Asia Bibi accused of blasphemy, Presidential campaigner Bhutto was murdered because she wasn't behind a burqa like an islamic woman is expected to be, Sri Lanka's visiting cricket team was attacked simply because they were non-muslim "infidels". Taseer was highly educated from a remarkable family of achievers – his father Muhammad Din Taseer was the first person from the Indian subcontinent to obtain PhD in English literature in England. Bhutto was well educated and accomplished political lleader, Sri Lanka team are accomplished cricketers. Clearly, people with exceptional personal accomplishments will still be targeted by fundamentalists for expressing an opinion about blasphemy law, for being a woman out of burqa or being a non-muslim etc...etc..... This mindset will move Pakistan into the dark ages and rule by gun. This is worrying due to the fact that it has nukes.
