Obama, 'Da Bears' Super Bowl bound?Washington (CNN) - It was not quite a Joe Namath-style guarantee of victory, but President Obama came close on Wednesday when he declared that he's heading to the Super Bowl if his beloved Chicago Bears make it to the game. At the end of a quick media spray of his Oval Office meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Obama was asked by a journalist if he's planning to head to the big game on Feb. 6 in Dallas. "If the Bears win, I'm going no doubt," Obama said matter-of-factly. If nothing else, Obama perhaps put a little bit more pressure on "Da Bears" this weekend because they first have to beat their rival, Green Bay Packers, in the National Football Conference championship game. But there's also no doubt Ditka would be proud of the president, fitting in a little football tack in between diplomacy with the Chinese. |

Can he not come up with something Original. Maybe this is why he had to ask Bill Clinton to come in and help. He is incapable of being a President of a nation. Obama your health care bill stinkls to high heaven. I notice than none of the Congress or you are on it. Or will be on it. GREAT AHs.
Are you joking? The entire Congress and administration are on the Federal health care system. That includes the right-wingers who demagogue against it but refuse to give it up. The president wants everyone to have affordable health care, why are you against that? A single payer system would be the best option, or a public option after that, but it's better than the horrendous system we currently have, which is bad even for many people who have health insurance today. Go Bears, go Jets!

As a life-long Bears fan, the last thing I want to see is the girlish Barack Obama jumping on the bandwagon now. I've seen how he throws a baseball, I'm betting he hasn't the faintest idea how to even hold a football.

You realize Obama has been a Bears fan for a long time, right? I mean, he did an intro for MNF back in 2006 against the Rams and said the Bears were going to the Superbowl that season too.
Actually, hate to burst the bubble, but Obama is really a Steelers fan. He's a Bears fan only because he was an IL senator.

I, too, am a life long Chicago Bears fan. I think it is great that he is supporting the Bears. Many people do not know the correct way to throw a football but spend lots of money and time supporting the Chicago Bears.

So what does that cost the taxpayer. One more reason to back the Packers. Superbowl tickets are expensive enough without Air Force One and all the staff. Unless of course he's taking the rest of us.
I've never played football. I've never even attempted to throw a football. So by your definition, I should not be a fan? Screw that. Love the game and love the Bears! And just an FYI, the President plays a damn good game on the basketball court.

@Mark L; Why's OBAMA always the president that's expected to give up his personal choices, presidential perks, and whatever else you try to take from him, because the nation is in recovery from what would have been a complete depression; due to no fault of his own? I guess he knows WELL how it looks! It looks just like CLINTON, BUSH and any other president who's been seen sitting in stadiums watching games and pitching the first baseballs, while many AMERICANS had no shelter or couldn't buy a loaf of BREAD!
