Obama: My Christian faith sustains meBy Dan Gilgoff, CNN Belief Blog Co-Editor (CNN) - President gave an unusually personal speech about his religious faith on Thursday, saying that "it is the biblical injunction to serve the least of these that keeps me going and keeps me from being overwhelmed," in an address to a prayer breakfast in Washington. The speech, delivered at the National Prayer Breakfast, comes on the heels of public opinion surveys that show only a minority of Americans know that Obama is a Christian and that a growing number believe he's a Muslim. "My Christian faith has been sustaining for me over the last couple of years and even more so when Michelle and I hear our faith questioned from time to time," the president said Thursday, referring to his wife. Who cares what religion our President is!? Why the debate!? Since when have we decided that his/her Religion is a criteria for being President? I personally do not care nor should any others who are solely interested in have the best man for the job of President! If we started to consider the candidates religion I think we should only consider atheists. Doing so, would keep the separation between church and state!!! Thus, politicians would vote solely what is in the best interest in the people and not cast their vote, on a particular issue like abortion, based in part or entirely on their religious belief!
I'm sure the PRESIDENT, as a CHRISTIAN, and one who has had to repeat over and over again to the WORLD, that he is one, has only been able to withstand the sticks and stones that have been hurled at him, ever since he even started running for the office, is because he has held on to his CHRISTIAN faith! I believe the BOOK of PROVERBS will continue to bless him with the strength he needs to journey on to GODs' will for this nation and the world. President OBAMA, meditate on chapters 25 through 29 right now!
I'm sure the FAKER, as a wishy-washy politician, and one who's had the opportunity over and over again to RETRACT the vile immoral laws he's pushed America into, has been able to withstand the Truth that's been put to him because he has been backed by Lefties who don't care if America goes to hell in a handbasket. I don't have to go to Proverbs to point out one little concept that he needs to do---REPENT and change his wicked ways. He should meditate on that. Otherwise, he will just keep on feeding on the liberal-minded people like you who think it's okay for him to twist the Bible into an unrecognizable mess and promote blasphemy in America.
Oh, shut up. America going to hell in a handbasket? Policies pushed onto Americans? Sounds like George Bush to me.
Obama is NOT a Christian. I don't care what he says. The bottom line is that he has an election coming in 2 years and he needs the Christian votes to win. No Christians – No win. The word of God says "By their fruits you shall know them", a fig tree can't bear oranges and an orange tree can't bear grapes! How can you have a relationship with God, read the bible, call yourself a Christian and be FOR gay marriages and abortion? This is not possible. We see his fruit and we know exactly who he is. He may have fooled a lot of Christians the first time around but I am afraid this time he has seriously failed.
So NOW he's not a Christian, but when he was criticized for being a member of Jeremiah Wright's church for 14 years, he was? The only people who are wishy washy are the people who constantly try to find ways to criticize the man.
He is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. That means EVERYBODY! He is obliged to 'render unto CAESAR the things that are CAESARS' and to GOD, the things that are GODS"! CAESAR is the government! The government is 'of the people, by the people and for the people'! His own personal relation with GOD has nothing to do with his obligation, as president of all AMERICANS to do what he is obligated to do! It seems you people are the ones who're so busy taking religion out of politics! So now what's the problem?
Furthermore, I've known many so-called CHRISTIANS who have twisted, and spinned the BIBLE to suit their own personal agendas, desires and choices! They weren't just presidents either; who have to be fair and balanced to ALL! They sit up and validate and justify their own whims, and faults by scrambling THE WORD to suit their decisions! JUST THEM! I know that's wrong! It's done everyday in AMERICA under the cloak of freedom. REPENT is the operative word and it doesn't start nor stop with BARACK OBAMA!
I'm just trying to figure out how a man who is in favor of abortion, even partial-birth infanticide, can say he is a "Christian" with a straight face. Does he not realize that God will not be mocked?
Being pro-choice does not mean you support, believe in, or agree with abortion. It means that you believe that every woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body. If a woman gets pregnant, and CHOOSES to keep the baby, then that is her choice to make. If a woman gets pregnant and CHOOSES not to keep it, that is the choice she makes. I, for one, thank him for keeping the government out of my womb. And I think it's funny how people want "less" government, but then want the government to tell women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. If that's the case, then start teaching PROPER sex education in middle schools, and start providing FREE birth control to kids. Oh yeah, pro-lifers don't believe in that either. That is so backwards.
What about a man's rights. Should he be able to choose to abort his relation ship with the child? It is his body and because of her decision he will have to use it to earn money for them for 18 -20 years. How can one human (woman) take an action that would enslave another (man). It is interesting how many women will argue the 'her body' point but are not willing to support a mans rights.
'Boast not of thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy? I've said before, I do study the WORD and am getting understanding and revelations from my older brother, who is a teacher of the WORD and has been since 1978. TRY IT!
Ultimately, God knows the heart, but does the President understand that his long-standing connection to what is, in essence, a liberal church in Chicago, has made him "appear" to be a convert to liberalism rather than to Christ Jesus? Oprah looks like a liberal unitarian and the President looks and feels very similar. True, I'm not the Judge; but I am a pastor and (hence) a fruit-inspector.
Two things: First, the Shepherd knows who are His sheep, "The sheep hear My voice and I know them," "Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord....." Second, test with a spirit of discernment, "by their fruits, you shall know them." Ultimately, everyone will have to make their own individual assessment and vote according to conscience tempered by regular season of prayers.
@David; thank you for your service to the LORD. However, you said you were 'a pastor and (hence) a fruit inspector. Would you please expound on that? I know the church that the PRESIDENT had a long time connection to in CHICAGO is of the denomination of THE CHURCH of CHRIST! THE CHURCH of CHRIST! You know JESUS 'CHRIST? I'm AME, who tries to follow the principles of the CHRISTIAN religion; and a LIBERAL! According to my study of the word, GOD says HE will separate the 'wheat' from the 'shaft'. HE inspects!

Barack H Obama sat in that CHRISTIAN CHURCH for 20 years and listened to Rev Jeremiah A Wright blast the TRUTH about the whiteman! Everything he said was the TRUTH! The trouble is, most whites hate the truth; and especially when it's being told on them, and points a finger to their virtual grandeur of superiority and schemes of bigotry, hatred, and unfairness towards blacks and other minorities in the USA! They keep thinking KILLING the truth messenger will finally KILL the truth message, but it WON'T!!
The only way the JEREMIAH A WRIGHT message will ever be completely anialated or killed in this country is when it is claimed and brought out of denial, reparated (if not financially) somehow, and resolved! It MUST be stamped out completely, PERIOD! TOKENS of progress isn't going to get it anymore! Therefore, you and the media will continue hearing a voice like JOHN THE BAPTIST, crying in the wilderness for a TRUE and JUST application of civil rights, justice, freedoms and opportunities for ALL AMERICANS!
I don't believe your claim that WRIGHT blasted JEWS. I listened to the propagandists excerpts of his sermons too; even listened to the full speech he gave at the PRESS CLUB! I never heard him denounce JEWS, but if he did, I think he was wrong on that note, because AFRICAN AMERICANS and JEWS have a common heritage, have experienced the same adversities, we essentially have the same adversary! The whites; especially white supremasts! If a JEW/BLACK slips through and gets rich, they're whitemans' 'buddy' then!
The constancy of how we AMERICANS have the audacity to continue to request that 'GOD BLESS AMERICA', after the way white AMERICANS mistreat, disenfranchise, continue to hurt, obstruct success, justice and even the so-called 'AMERICAN DREAM' from BLACKS and other AMERICANS; WRIGHT was only using his right to free speech as he gave his opinion! He wasn't blogging it; he spoke it outright 'GOD DAMN AMERICA' Most honest AMERICANS, black and white, understood exactly what he meant by that! KEEP BLESSING THIS?!?
REV JEREMIAH A WRIGHT couldn't have hated AMERICA to the extent that the media has successfully portrayed him to stupid people, and OBAMA-haters! He was born, raised and educated here; he literally signed his life over to AMERICA as he volunteered his services to the USMC to go fight for IT in the VIETNAM WAR! He knew what was going on when left it; RACISM at it's height! He could've kept going; he came back here like all AFRICAN AMERICAN VETERANS did, to business as usual. Not much had changed! 'CHANGE'!
And it still hasn't!
