Star and football watching at the White House![]() WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Obamas are adding a bit of sparkle to their Super Bowl party this year. CNN has confirmed “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez and her Grammy award winning husband singer Marc Anthony will attend the football watching party at the White House. In an interview on "Extra" on Wednesday, Lopez said she "can't believe it." "I don't know, maybe that's why I don't want to talk about it. I don't even feel like it's real," Lopez said.Lopez and Anthony will add a bit of Hollywood glamour to the party that is usually made up of cabinet secretaries and members of Congress. This year D.C. luminaries will include Attorney General Eric Holder, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano. Steelers fans will include Democratic Sen. Robert Casey Jr. and Republican Sen. Pat Toomey. The Packers will be represented at the party by Green Bay’s GOP Rep. Reid Ribble. The menu won’t be released until Sunday but if it looks anything like last year’s, guests can expect hot dogs and cookies. President Obama will not only watch the championship game on TV but he will be part of the pre-game show. Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly will interview Obama live from the White House Sunday afternoon, but he'll save some portions of the interview to run on his show Monday. The pre-game interview is historically given to the network airing the Super Bowl game. |

Barry, how about a little less sparkle and more jobs. You can play with your Hollywood friends after the 2012 election.
OH, so the PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES isn't allowed to invite who he wants to the WHITEHOUSE, anymore? He isn't allowed to sit with friends; people who DO care about him as a human, who DO recognize the BIG MESS he was 'handed', and who DO understand that everything he's done and is attempting to do, is totally in behalf of rectifying the ILLS of this nation and the world. Are you SO JEALOUS, that you can't stand him, NOT TAKING AIRFORCE 1 to TEXAS; but sitting in the WHITEHOUSE and watching the game!?
A lot of us are worried about the deinlce of the independent press. Amidst declining ad revenues, it seems like market democracies across the board are losing an asset that new media types (bloggers, podcasters, etc.) just can't fill. After all, the new media types don't have the time, training, or resources to dig deep into the belly of a story or attain the same standards of objectivity. The best they can do is process journalism.
