Hopefully, they can forge a genuine working relationship that will help move the country forward. I have no doubt that they all want to see the country succeed, but too often their political party and personal ambitions come before the country. The President is truly a considerate person, but he can not make any progress with the republicans against him on everything – including what they support.

Howard, your another leming who believes that Govt is out to control everything we do. The suggestion from the firstr lady is that there should be options for our food intake when we frequent an eating establishment and grocery stores. Stop throwing your brain in neutral and listeninig to all this nonsense and maybe just maybe you can learn something.

Thing is, is that if he offers an elegent meal, he'll be accused of being out of touch with the rest of America and wasting money better spent reducing the debt, if he offers a marginal menu he'll be accused of disrespect and not REALLY treating the republicans in a serious manner.

The president is in reelect mode. You can tell by how he is cleaning house bringing in more business friendly individuals. If republicans continue to stall then u can guarantee a successful reelection

I believe President is trying everything possible to be the President of every state and person regardless of whatever party...the Republicans have made it their #1 priority to try and stop progress for the American people in order to resurrect the dying Republican Party by whatever means necessary...but as history has it their plans won't work because greater is He that's within Obama. Example: the Healthcare bill and the Lume Duck session...

Barry called his fellow Americans enemies. In fact no other time in history has a president made a speech where he referred to citizens as his enemy. He hates and is willing to destroy half of American. Tells you a lot where this guys head is.

Unfortunately, there are lots of people like Howard in our beloved country – not intelligent enough to see value in engaging the opposition and in healthy living. Bigotry is a desease!

We have a President who is doing all that he can to work for the good of the country while on the other hand the GOP is interested in one thing, do what ever is necessary to make the President look bad. I must say this President is a better man than me because if I was in his position I'd tell the GOP to shub it where the sun don't shine. How anyone can vote Republican is a huge mistery to me. You're either rascist, noncaring or quite frankly ignorant.

This is such a waste of the President's time as no matter what he does , it will never be good enough for these "good ole boys", who act like they themselves gave Barack Obama this job. He won this election fair and square. Matter of fact, it wasn't even close, and every time you turn around he has to beg these "die-hards" to come to the table. They are so disrespectful and blatantly bias against the President. I am ready to see a tougher, meaner and unapologetic Obama in 2012.

Howard is not a bigot. If you look at what the basic principals it's that of "big government", thus a government that does have a smidgen of controll in everything (i.e Obamacare. I'll have health care IF and WHEN I want to) I do find it funny though, that right after you post about Howard being a bigot that one of your fellow dem's says something that truly is bigotesque. You want to fix this country? Don't pick a political party and swallow some hard pills. Cut govenment spending on benefits (i.e. social security, pell grants) and raise taxes to get us moving toward being out of debt

It is so unbelivable that many of you Republicans are with so short memories. 8 years of Bush destoried our country. Please note that Sept 11 was one attack on our country ground tooooo many. (Cheney did you hear that!!) Bush can't even get out of the US, for he is on the wanted list (Cheney included)

President Obama is only trying to the the clean up the mess for the last two years.

    Yes, we can again 2012

I agree with laci, the gop is so disrespectfull and bias towards the president that they are willing to do anything they can to try and obstruct what the president is trying to do to get this economy and country moving forward.
