POTUS schedule March 4, 2011

President Obama will be welcoming back one of his most loyal former senior advisers on Friday.  Newly-elected Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will pay a visit to the Oval Office at 10:45 a.m.

Obama will then head to Miami to kick off his focus on education as part of his administration’s plan to “out-educate, out-innovate” the global competition. He’ll visit Miami’s Central High School, which was an underachieving school but received federal grant money and has turned the school around. The school was recommended to the White House by former Gov. Jeb Bush as a success story when it fired the principal and half the faculty and made reforms with a new staff by focusing on after-school sessions, community engagement, and creative learning programs. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and former Gov. Bush will accompany the president on the tour. His education remarks will be at 4pm.

After his education event, Obama will attend a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee at a posh hotel on South Beach. He’ll raise more money for the DSCC at a private residence before returning to the White House late Friday evening.  Schedule provided by the White House:
