Insert Donald Trump into those pics and it becomes a bad episode of Celebrity Apprentice.

This is why you elect the smartest person, who surrounds themselves with people just as smart or smarter. Don't elect another clown – the last one got you into this mess.

The last one that got us into this mess is the one that established the network of anti-terrorism and intelligence gathering that put the nail in OBL's coffin. If you pull the Kool aide out of your ears and listen to their own words and reports, this was a culmination of over ten years of intelligence gathering and information gleaned from a unified coalition of military and intelligence networks as established by GEORGE W. BUSH...Hats off to President Obama for having the sack to pull it off and complete the job but let's put credit where credit is due! I do agree that Trump is a chump and will not be the Republican pick but history will ultimately reveal the good work GW Bush did and what a bunch of dolts the left have degenerated into...smartest people, legends in their own minds...funny.

the 'one' that got us into this mess had his chance and he cried "STAND DOWN" when OBL was in his sights and let him go free – course this was before he decided to invade Iraq...

      • wARD

It's too bad that 'one' didn't have the courage to actually carry through on the hit. No Guts No Glory!

Monster Zero, you fail to understand that the trail to bin Laden had grown cold during the Bush administration and that the Bush administration did not put forth half the effort to catch bin Laden as the Obama administration has. Lets not forget that they were too busy trying to democratize Iraq. I give Bush the credit for forming JSOC and that is about it.
President Obama was the one who had to make it his policy to capture or kill bin Laden. Lets not forget President Obama is the current commander in chief who could have changed the focus and mission of the military whenever he chose.

What kool-aide induced dream world do you and ward live in? If Ward is talking of Tora Bora, our special Ops team was accompanied by the Afghan army regulars that when within 100yards of Osama refused to allow the Ops team any further effort in killing him. The Ops team requested to drop cluster land mines on the backside of Tora Bora to inhibit OBL's retreat, it was denied at the Pentagon level. If you don't think GW took out as many of these bad guys as possible you are either stupid or just plain blind. This happened from 10years of CIA and military intelligence, Obama provided the go, and more power to him for that, I am sure he put a big giant bulls eye on himself and his family with that responsibility. As far as the aftermath of the search, I am sure the very best of our nations intelligence forces have been hard at it, and I am also sure that the people we have been giving billions in aide to have been helping hide this SOB.

Funny how people still want to credit George Bush! He said, on tape, that 'he didn't really even think about Bin Laden anymore" . He was more interested in getting into the illegal war in Iraq so his cronies like Cheney 's Halliburton could make monstrous war profits. Barack Obama targeted Bin Laden from the first day of his presidency and he got him! Not George Bush, Not Dick Cheney, Not Donald Rumsfeld- they all let him go. Barack Obama and his good guys got Osama. Live with it !

Linda-Without the organization between military and intelligence gathering networks and GITMO that GW Bush created and Barrack Obama campaigned against...OBL would NEVER have been killed. You deal with it, no one ever knowingly let him walk, that is about as ludicrous as thinking our own Nation staged 9/11, wait let me guess...

NO. W Bush started a war in Iraq that had NOTHING to do with Bin Laden. Bush used the horror of what happened on 9/11 to push forward an agenda of war against a country that had nothing to do with what happened in New York.
The Iraq war did a lot to push us into a massive debt by using tax payer dollars to set up a huge military theater so that private war services providers, like Haliburton with a 285% increase in war arena profts, can get richer. These are friends of Bush and Cheney. Bush didn't go after Bin Laden. Bush used Bin Laden to create profit.

Monster Zero...you are correct, lets give credit where credit is due. So, Bush was responsible for the Economic Mess, Iraq, Afganistan, Failed Banks, Loss of Jobs, Poor Economy, TARP, Killing Osama Bin Laden, Trade Imbalance with China, etc., etc., etc. If want to give credit to Bush, don't pick and choose, give it all to him...he created it all!

Right On! You are correct! If it wasn't for George W. Bush putting his foot down after 9-11, there probably would have been MORE terrorist attacks against the U.S. I admired him for his guts, unlike Bill Clinton who would never want to follow through on an attack when he had the chance! I salute our awesome Navy Seals for their bravery and expertise! And for people like you who aren't afraid to tell the FACTS! Thank You!

Wow, where to begin if that is what you truly believe. Do you suppose that entitlement spending and non-sustainable pension legacies were created under the Bush Administration? Do you believe that the mission in Iraq and Libya differ other than perhaps level of involvement, it's not okay for Ghaddafi to kill his people but it is okay for Hussein? Have you heard of Fannie and Freddie tax funded mortgage banks that are the root of the derivative trading cooked up under Greenspan and Clinton? I no longer have the time or inclination to try to enlighten those that seem entranced by the never ending stream of liberal propaganda...the truth is that we got here with the assistance of ALL Parties in Washington stuffing their pockets and not taking care of what is good for the common citizen of the Nation. This quasi -socialism crap is NOT ever going to work in America and when people get sick enough of no jobs, high prices and stupid political moves and corruption, the pendulum will swing and swing hard. I think it is about at the peak and beginning it's downswing...look out!

"The last one that got us into this mess is the one that established the network of anti-terrorism and intelligence gathering that put the nail in OBL's coffin" ??REALLY?? Check the facts there Zero. GW actually DROPPED THE BALL on terrorist intelligence. When GW took over from Bill Clinton he was specifically warned about OBL and the first tower bombing. What did he to to prevent further terrorism attacks prior to 9/11. NOT A G** D***N Thing. I believe the 9/11 attacks rest on the shoulders of the GW administration and their lack of action during regime change from Bill Clinton and their chest beating machismo after defeating Al Gore. Furthermore before history clouds the truth too much, remember GW's first focus of his administration (prior to 9/11) was dismantlement of domestic regulatory agencies which the gulf coast paid for last year. GW was a TRAIN WRECK as president that stymied our nation for a DECADE

For god sakes – what are we in the 5th grade? Teacher, little Johnnie took my brownie!!! You whiny little teapublicans can't stand the fact that Obama, from day one, said Afghanistan was where we need to be focused to crush those who pulled off 9/11 – NOT getting daddy's nemesis by making up intel about WMD and invading Iraq. After Bush let 9/11 happen, he tramped on our Constitutional rights, left Afghanistan with ineffective troop levels to pursue Saddam, then pulled off all kinds of war crimes including torturing suspects. Nice! Bush was the one who actually stated he didn't care where bin Laden was. Sorry, Bush and his band of criminals deserve NO credit for any of this effort. If they did have the facts, they let them sit on Bush's desk, probably right next to the memo titled OSAMA BIN LADEN WANTS TO ATTACK AMERICAN!!! Obama took the intel, made it the CIA's number one priority and gave them the resources they needed! Nice try teapublicans but you FAILED to keep your eye on the ball where Obama nailed it out of the park.

As unemployed trailer park racist you're just jealous that Pres. Obama got OBL in less than or in a mere record time of 2-1/2 yrs. in office even with the massive huge weighty US problems over his shoulders created by the last mentally deficient Pres. GWB who reads at 1st Grade level even with a written prepared speech. In all your stupid racist posts all over the internet, you exhibit the same disdain hate for this Pres. Obama no matter what he does. Facts undisputed: The actions of imbecile GWB by dropping the ball has brought extreme hardships to every corner of this World. Not only that; you seemed to have your brains turned backwards just like the evil one aka, Osama Bin Laden. Your corrupt GOP imbecilic Pres. GWB intentionally allowed his former buddy OBL to escape so that he could extend the war only for the benefit of his greedy buddies whilst they cowardly hole themselves out in the comfort of bunkers.

Funny, you utilize the word "CREDIT" when discussing Obama's presidency...Credit has been the MAJOR (no, not MAJOR credit card, our country would be declined) cause for turmoil in Obama's "REIGN"...oh, how I wish it would "RAIN", like when the rain comes down and washes the spider out, you know, like the fast approaching storm we shall all have a hand in, come 2012? It looks like the storm clouds are already forming in the distance; oh wait, maybe it's just the cloud arising from a steaming TEAPOT?...I don't know, I can't tell from here, with all the flying accusations of being racist to cloud my vision! And, lastly, I would advise some of you to start working on your storm cellars NOW as it takes awhile to dig out of chunk of the Earth – oh, maybe that's what Obama meant by his shovel-ready projects!

PLS TAKE THIS POSTING AS INTENDED, as a HUMOUROUS OPINION. I recognize it takes great courage, intellect, and vigor to run for political office and I hope I shall be able to speak from personal experience one day (maybe when I grow up, right? HAHAHA!, see I can poke fun at myself too), and in the end we all have the same goals despite bipartisanship, WE WANT THE BEST FOR OUR CHILDREN, OUR COUNTRY AND BOTH OF THEIR FUTURES. And we shall embrace our differences, not become soooooooooooooooooooooooooo politically incorrect that we can't recognize nor revere those exceptional characteristics that make this country the greatest country in the world.

STAY SAFE THRU THE REAL STORM IN TODAY'S FORECAST & COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS SURVIVED A CATERGORY 5 HURRICANE, PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE; CHARGE ALL YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICES; & YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH A CAN OF ROTEL, VELVETTA & A BAG OF TOSTITO'S (VELVETTA MELTS MUCH EASIER ON A CAR BATTERY THAN CHEDDAR!) GOD BLESS!

Yes, let's give Bush some credit for giving vision to a strategic anti-terrorist program...but let's also giving him credit for convincing 80% of the public and 90% of congress that Iraq had something to do with 9/11...and the mess that has created for the USA in the eyes of the rest of the world...

Do you not think that Libya and Iraq are one in the same? Do you not think that overthrowing an oppressive dictator that slaughters his own people in an attempt to establish Democracy in the middle east a worthy attempt? Let us remember that unless you believe that GW Bush fabricated his own CIA intelligence reports he relied on the information provided. America had been attacked by fanatical Muslim terrorists, every American wanted some payback...I do not particularly care for the Iraq war but when you look at Iran and the disruption in the Middle east and think of the future and what may come of our intervention in Iraq, well, only time will tell...and please remember Congress voted to go to Iraq, they were provided the same information as the Bush Administration.

@ monster zero fundamentally I see Lybia and Iraq as two different strategies and from the Lybian view I do not see it tied so much with Iran. The only thing that ties them is they are ME geographically. Have you noticed know Spring Awakening is taking place in Iran (yet)? Have you noticed Obama has repeated their will be "no boots on the ground" in Lybia? Have you noticed Obama in an effort to protect our tarnished image in the eyes of more moderate Muslim countries has "put NATO ie...France, UK" in to key leadership roles" regarding this action? Some will call it leading from the rear and it is in a sene. In this case President Obama is getting NATO to "man up" and carry out a limited mission and control the mission. America can do this NP but we really shouldn't, should we? Obama is against nation building Bush was for it. Sure they both share the same targets and wishes to up hold and secure American interests but the interests has changed from being the strong arm for World Oil corporations to being a defender of the right to protest and speak out against your own government and defend out numbered and poorly armed enemies of our enemies. Obama's strategy is cheaper and in the short term much more effective. IMO.

You don't give that Congress much credit. I don't recall anyone suggesting Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 except a bunch of libs trying to find a way to criticize Bush. Iraq was sold to the Congress on WMD which Hussein hd already used in Iran and his own country. Iraq was all about regime change, Lybua is the exact same mission today but with lib at the helm. You libs ought to be distraught that a liberal would behave just like the conservative you all hated with a passion.

Relax- You are missing my point, sending military into either Nation is based upon the exact same premise. Iraq was presented to us over and over as ruled by an oppressive dictator that brutally killed his own people, the same has been done with Libya. Iraq, we actually declared war and Congress approved for our ground troops to invade, Libya we have not quite followed the same route and so far we have not seen regular military in with the UN coalition troops. Iran is the primary player in the ME, they are actively seeking control of the Gulf and making strategic coalitions with Islamic Nations that control the other oil outflow choke points. Anyone that agrees with Libya yet opposes Iraq is completely off base and without reason, they are one and the same yet different in the way the war is waged. Libya does not export oil to the US, they export primarily to Europe, it is not our fight yet I believe we should back up our allies. You cannot LEAD from the rear, the mission is convoluted and has been an utter disaster without forethought of what the outcome is even desired other than killing the leader of a foreign Nation? At a time that our Nation is spending over $450 billion a year on interest alone, I do not think entering yet another conflict is in America's best interest. We shall see, we shall see...

You're not making sense. What about Obama are libs agreeing with, that is the same as Bush?
If you mean to say that torture gets you information, well it's unclear that any one piece of info led the team to BinLaden.
I am a liberal, and if Obama used information gotten through torture, then no way do I agree with that tactic.
Should Obama end the war in Iraq? YES. Should he have escalated the war in Afghanistan? NO. Seems neither of these wars helped get Bin Laden anyway. So, it's been a big waste of tax dollars, and great profit for war monger profiteers. The libs are different in that we don't swallow all the BS from the person we elected. We like to think for ourselves and if we disagree with our leaders, then we'll disagree even if they are on the same "side". Conservatives tend to accept whatever the party serves up be it right or wrong. That is a major difference between supporters of either party. I will say that it is one reason why conservatives are more successful in elections. But, when the conservative supporters don't have to think for themselves, but only accept the party line, it's easier to lead them and appear more unified. The liberal party tends to lose votes when things get more complex and the general public has to start thinking more. Well, the general public tends to then take the easy road, pick the proverbial black of white position and tow the company line, as it's easier for most to follow and not be bothered with individual thought. In tough times the more simplistic "black/white" positions of the conservative party is more appealing to the masses.

Mike, these dolts will never get it, how many Al Qaeda linked terrorists did Bush wipe out during the Iraq war? With troops being killed daily in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and Osama on the run, where do you think a President is to position his primary attention? Bush put the heat on Osama so hard that SOB knew if he revealed himself he would be toast. This goes hand in hand with their inability to acknowledge that waterboarding, GITMO and the entire network set up specifically to deal with these douche bags works like a charm! Accolades for getting the killer President Obama, and brickbats for the economy, securing our borders, gasoline prices, inflation, etc., etc. etc. If they wish to throw up sound bites, I believe there are thousands out there with Obama and a size 10 in his mouth...

If it wasn't for the INTEL from the Bush term, Obama would not have found bin Ladin. That INTEL came from GITMO, you know, the place Obama wanted to close. That INTEL resluted from interrogations ... you know the interograions Obama wanted to stop.

Obama is an shameful opportunist and narcissist, who will gladly take all the credit, regardles of contributions by anyone else ... while conveniently avoiding responsibility, by blaming problems and defeats on everybody else. I doubt if Obama will concede to the fact that Bush's actions contributed to the bin Laden killing. Like the story of the scorpion and the frog, It's simply Obama's nature to feed his huge ego at all costs. So, I can only assume that George Bush will continue to be Obama's favorite whipping boy ... and the excuse for all Obama's short comings.

Obama probably did not release photos and video at this time, so when he releases them later, so he can string out this story, continue getting more credit, and milk it for every last drop of media coverage he can.

You must be a Tea Partier- they all rewrite history with made up facts that have no basis in truth. Barack Obama is a Christian president, an honest American, who cares for regular people. Don't you guys see that the only thing the Tea Party and the Republican party work for are the huge corporations who pay for their campaigns? How can anyone be against cleaning up our magnificent planet? Yet they are, because it would impede corporate profits. Its called hegemony- when the ruling class controls the message so well that the working class and lower classes buy into the message EVEN if it goes against their own personal self- interest. Don't continue to be fooled by them. Think about what is good for your and your family, not what is good for General Electric or Halliburton

If Bush has this intel, then he should have acted on it. The truth is that he didn't, so your premise is incorrect.

Also, you never read Obama's book so why then used a falsified quote and attribute it to him?
I know. Because you use internet Obama bashing with all of it's fabricated lies by which to get your "information".
Here is something to help you, and others.

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."-Fiction!
This is a corruption of a quote from Obama's book The Audacity of Hope. It is from a section that talks about the concerns of immigrants who are American citizens.

Here is the accurate and more complete quote: "Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

That is another reason why I don't trust him and his motives. He IS Muslim and again to quote the KENYAN BORN Barrack Obama........

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." – Barack Obama

Wake up America! Instead of trying praise him and blame everything on Bush, just stop, open your eyes and look beyond the wool over your eyes this man has placed on you! Yeah he does a few good things here and there, to keep you happy and deter you from seeing him the real person he is. GEORGE BUSH TACTICS? You mean the ones that the Japs used on OUR troops in WWll? And I recall that we hung all the Japs that did that to our troops. And we got a tim about that 8 YEARS AGO! If the evidence was that significant we would have had him 8 years ago. God Bless Our troops. If only Bush had cared about getting Osama way back after 9/11, eh? But then, we tried it your way and it didn’t work so the President decided to use intelligence and look where that got us. Shocking, I know! Would you prefer we keep giving Bush credit for things he didn’t do, just to make you feel better, sort of like oh, gee, I dunno, an handicap or reparations for Bush’s failures? Oh, and by the way, Obama got Osama.

With his busy schedule, wives, kids soccer practice, etc. where did he find time to build a sic mansion. And a beautiful mansion it is. I'd like the plans for my retirement house in Palm Springs. BTW, the reorganisation that the children of dope-crazed parents are getting all riled up about created task forces within JSOC, that collaborated with Delta, and the Teams, to make this happen – if you care.

You have to remember that Bin Laden didn't just go to a bank to sign papers to get approved for a mortgage to build a compound. There were others involved to where the property was in their name and secured and built, then after completeion, I am sure a little time went by to make sure the coast was clear then they slipped Bin Laden and his family in under the dead of night and he never waled putside the doors for any measure. He had to trust only a few people and no one else, so yes it was entirely possible that the majority of Pakistan never noticed. I can tell you making this liveable was no easy task, it was planned to the fullest and it almost worked completely thanks to the obvious courier.

Funny that you dog Bush for lack of intellectual capacity. His IQ is listed as 134, while Obama's is listed as 129. Hmmmmmm. Anyone that holds that office must be fairly intelligent in order to be elected by the majority of Americans, whether you agree with their policies or not. Those that continually denigrate either individual for "lack of intelligence," is really showing their own lack.

For those who want to shamelessly denigrate George Bush as if he has done absolutely nothing for the United States, should do some research. I am and have always been an Obama supporter, but not blindly so. What Obama accomplished cannot be ignored and should be readily commended. However, Former President Bush got the wheels rolling.

      • A Mom

Bush deserves the lion's share of the credit if you are comparing Obama/Bush. Bush has fortitude. He was a leader after 9/11 who was not afraid to call evil, evil. Very few of us knew the name of either al qaeda or Osama bin Laden before 9/11. Obama has shown himself to be an appeaser more than a leader. But the guy sure does have political saavy. I would admire him more if he would not only have praised the Navy Seals but also gave former President Bush his due. As I recall the only time he mentioned Bush's name during his announcement was when he reminded us that our fight is not against muslims.

        May 3, 2011 at 11:39 am |
      • @A Mom

You're right about Bush deserving a lion's share. Obama didn't take all the presidential credit. He has iterated that the gathering of information was over a course of many years, which would mean that this has been ongoing long before he took office. And I'm certain he would not have mentioned making a call to George Bush if he is intent on taking the full executive credit.

        May 3, 2011 at 11:56 am |
      • Bet

@Mom Most of us had heard of Bin Laden and al Qaeda long before 9/11. Bill Clinton authorized the capture or killing of him in 1998, after the US Embassy bombings in Africa, and he was on the FBI's most wanted list in 1999. GWB read some speeches. GWB authorized the torture of POWs in US custody, a violation of the Geneva Convention. GWB lied to the American people about WMDs in Iraq. Get your information from real journalists, instead of letting Fox news and Geraldo tell you what to think.

Without the groundwork and the 10 years it took to build up NSW and coordinate DEVGRU and all other aspects of JSOC, this successful mission would never have happened. Who cares who was in the white house when it happened? And Bush gets credit for building up the NSA, CIA and military special forces commands into what they are today. Sounds like you are scared about the fact that you are becoming a minority in your opinion, and things are naturally gravitating towards the Republican side of the house, WHERE THEY BELONG, HA HA! If the President is a Republican, we need a Democrat Senate. If the President is a Democrat, we need a Republican Senate.

Seriously, how can I take anybody's post seriously when they display the intellectual wit of kids engaging in schoolyard teasing. Both liberals and conservatives are guilty. If you want the vote of independent thinkers, grow up and stop using petty ad hominem attacks. I'm sure there is a well thought out argument waiting to escape somewhere in that brain.

No Mike you're not alone in your assesment. The name-calling you witness is a result of giving access to a lot of immature people. When people can no longer come-up with an original, intelligent argument, they usually resort to name-calling. When they start their discussion with name-calling, that indicates they have no intelligence to begin-with. Do as I do. Take comfort in knowing that with so many unintelligent-sounding people out there, the competition for my job is seriously reduced.

Really? Really? Nation destroying Republicans? Get your facts straight. Even with the terrible even of September 11, 2001 our economy survived, it survived the biggest terrorist attack in History, with President Bush and the Republicans in charge of both the House and Senate. Fast forward to 2006 when all the BS lies about President Bush cost the Republicans both the House and Senate, shortly thereafter the ECONOMY Started to TANK and continues to Tank because of who? Come on, you know the real answer? Say it with me, everyone knows who caused it. It was the Democrats. President Bush tried to get control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but the Democrats felt that it was wrong to deny people who couldn't afford multi-million dollar house to have them anyway and told those two institutions to front the loans. Who was Literally in bed with a high level Freddie Mac exec? Barny Frank. No conflict of interest there huh?

Which party pushed through the biggest and costliest overhaul of the health care system in history, one that 75% of US Citizens didn't want? The Democrats. (BTW THAT is the reason they lost the House) Oh yeah they pushed it through illegally by only requiring a simple majority.

So don't lecture us on who is destroying this country. President Obama and the Democrats are the real villains here.

With that being said, I applaud President Obama on making the decision to assassinate UBL, but lets not forget who started the hunt and rebuilt the intelligence community that was decimated by President Clinton.

As a side note. Did anybody notice that this past April, more US soldiers were killed in Iraq than since 2009? I thought that war was over? Isn't that what President Obama said? Our soldiers are no longer taking an active role in the protection of Iraqi citizens. Didn't see that bit of news on CNN, ABC, MSNBC, NBC, CBS or any other liberal network. Every day President Bush was in office the nightly news opened with how many of our Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines were killed but since President Obama took office you here little if anything about them. So don't anyone tell me the Media isn't biased.

Bush followed the same intelligence agency about WMDs in Iraq that Obama followed about OBL in Pakistan. Both made decisions based on that intelligence. One was right, one was wrong. Obama gets credit for giving the go ahead on this mission. Bush gets credit for Gitmo and the policies he put in place to lead up to this decision. Instead of bashing eachother, Libs & Conservatives should come together on this one issue, have a beer and celebrate. At the end of the day, the radical islamists want to kill all of us. The United States has been tracking UBL since the Clinton administration. What happened over the weekend culminated a man hunt that was severly escalated after the 1994 WTC bombing. UBL and his cohorts attempted to bring down the towers 7 years before they actually succeeded. Ten years ago, the tracking became a downright manhunt. This has nothing to do with what Pres Obama could do in 2 years vs what Pres Bush could do in 8, or any of that nonsense. The lead they followed to finally find UBL and take him out was one they were following for the past 4 years, and then some. Things like this don't just happen over night. This is not a discredit to one president, or a credit to another, it's a credit to the teamwork, between parties, to put aside their differences and serve the greater good of the American people. I served my country proudly, and I have a feeling that I'll be going back shortly, because this is far from over.

Wow, are that ignorant to think that Obama did this in two years?? Hello assclowns, this took a little over 8 years to gather the intel, comfirm the information and accomplish. The Obama just happened to be the one in office when it happened! Had Bush not started this, it never would have been completed. This was a victory for the Free world and not Just Obama. Obama called Bush and Bill Clinton to tell them BEFORE he addressed the nation, so good on him for recognizing who should be the first to know, those that got it all started. If you go read other media (besides CNN) you might know this. Besides, Obama is trying to bring the US to a Marxists society, and if you think that is a bad thing, look what happened to Russia..Open your eyes people. Obama may appear to be doing right, but it is for his gains, NOT the American people. Not president or politician is perfect. But some are more criminal than others. I would continue on but I need to go to Hawaii to pick up my freshly replicated birth certificate that took two years and a few million dollars to get.. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! Thank the gods for the U.S. Military!!!! Thanks for getting him SEALS!!

Bush started the process, the information on the WMD's was a judgement call and he took it. Bin Laden for years kept moving and hiding which caused the different agencies to lose him. It just happened that they got lucky and got a strong lead and they followed it. Obama was lucky to be in office when they finally got him. I've seen intelligence teams work in Iraq, and those guys work their butts off trying to seperate the BS from the real facts. So those who really don't know what goes into finding the necessary information really need to sit back and look into it. Yes we didn't find OBL during Bush's term, Yes we went into Iraq for WMD's and didn't find any that intel said was there. Lets not forget though, it is the soldiers on the ground who have done the work, who have completed the mission, not the Presidents.

        No we can't 2012

Obama didn't do this in 2 yrs. It took intelligence gathering of over 10yrs too get this info. The ONLY thing Obama should be credited with is just issuing the go ahead order. NO president deserves to be called COMMANDER -IN-CHIEF unless he had served in ACTIVE duty. Political affiliation should have nothing to do with who's rich, who's poor, EVERY politician should be striving for the same thing, to SUPPORT & defend our constitution & PEOPLE! Now adys you have to vote for the one you think is lying the least.

What do you think, Nation Defense is a partisan effort. I've never seen such stupidity and ignorance and because of this stupidity our Nation could possibly get stuck with Obama again and another four years of economic stalemate, European style governance and further destruction of our middle class.

I didn't vote for either president but it's hilarious to me that you sit there and claim the "obama lovers" see no wrong in him. What about all of you dubya lovers. This man lied to congress, mislead an entire nation, the entire world into a war we had no part in being in. Afghanistan, fine I understand it, but what the hell did Iraq have to do with anything. They even stated they had nothing to do with 9/11. Our initial was was to avenge the deaths on 9/11 and then we were duped due to our nationalism, into another war. So don't come on these forums and spew your bs about obama lovers seeing no wrong in him. You're just as bad if not worse. Oh and also, GWB did say that osama was NOT a priority:

"We haven't heard much from him. And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know where he is," Bush said during the 2002 news conference. "I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run.

"I was concerned about him when he had taken over a country," Bush continued. "I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban. But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became - we shoved him out more and more on the margins. He has no place to train his Al Qaeda killers anymore."

Do tell me then, why was the guy who master minded the worst attack on this beautiful nation of ours, no longer a concern?

Once again....stop looking at all these issues in black and white and venture over to the grey area a little bit....it's a bit more refreshing...this goes for the extreme obama supporters as well.

bush had his chance. TORA BORA, lets say that again, TORA BORA, bin laden was widely acknowledged to have been at that battle. but our special forces were called back.

      May 2, 2011 at 10:14 pm |
      • Monster Zero

Our forces were not "called back' at Tora Bora, I saw the interview with the Special Ops team leader. He stated that they were within 100 yard of the summit and could actually see a tall thin man resembling Osama. They were accompanied by a Afghan army regulars and those regulars actually threatened to turn their weapons on the Ops team if they proceeded. OBL was an icon to every ME Muslim, they worship him as a hero against the Evil America. The Ops team requested that cluster style land mines be dropped on the back slope exit of Tora Bora and the request was denied reportedly at the Pentagon level. If you think GW Bush would not have ripped off his head and crapped down his neck given the chance you are all out of your kool-aide drinking minds!

It is sad sad sad that there are so many either ignorant or just plain stupid people in America. Bush didn't finish anything other than his second term. He didn't finish Afghanistan, he didn't finish Iraq. He didn't catch Bin Laden. Good job catching Saddam. He did start the policies that lead to information via a Gitmo detainee about Bin Laden's courier – so good job there too, GWB. And frankly, I am disappointed that Gitmo was closed. Anyone who was in there either had committed atrocities against humanity or was going to, so who cares if waterboarding someone 9 million times got us the info we need to finally put a bullet in Bin Laden's head? Seems like a small price for someone who was all about killing people to pay. Just sayin'.

      May 2, 2011 at 11:22 pm |
      • Mike

        Gitmo is still open

        May 3, 2011 at 12:44 am |
      • Keith in Texas

DDAP, Gitmo is still open. In fact, in was announced that is will stay open. And waterboarding did not produce the information used for this operation, it was extracted in a "regular" interrogation. Get your facts straight. Gosh, this stuff is endless.

        May 3, 2011 at 1:14 am |
      • Hojo

Clearly you haven't been paying attention to the new and just posting your absurd opinions all over CNN. Water boarding didn't lead to the person giving up the information, it wasn't until after the water boarding the information came out, the water boarding slowed the process down.

        May 3, 2011 at 8:22 am |
      • Kevin

I put in two years at Gitmo during my service time, and I'll only say this: you can't treat inhumane people humanely. We never would've got the answers we needed to save countless American lives through foiled terror plots and tips to capturing/erasing some of the world's highest ranking terrorists if we had just asked nicely. Trust me also on this: anything that was done to these animals pales in comparison to what they have done to our own POW's. As American people, we are unable to truly hate something or someone the way that these people hate Americans. We can't help but have at least some sort of compassion, it's what makes us great as a people, but these terrorists have a level of hate that goes above and beyond anything we are capable of. Just imagine how much someone must truly hate to be capable of suicide bombings, etc.

Gaylon, nothing you say is correct. The President is not perfect, far from it, but no one is. He is a great President though. Bush, on the other hand, was among the worse, along with his father, Raygun and Tricky Dick.

Only a Gaylon prick head would make the statement you just post. Not only have you demonstrated your high level of ignorance, but you have also displayed the type of knowledge you lack, which is education. You live in the past Gaylon prick instead of moving forward in life. Bush is no longer president, McCain did not win, and Sara Palin herself needs to further her understanding of politics and get a little more education and experience under her belt before she decides to walk with the big dogs and those who hold Harvard and Yale degrees.

People such as yourself who live in what did not occur, but salivate over what they wish would have happend depicts a person who probably walks through life with a low self-esteem, insecure, a lack of courage, and one who craves attention and communication anyway they can get it. You are an over sized baby Gaylon still nursing on mommy's boobie and should truly consider finding another way to become a hot topic in the blog world.

I too am Proud of my current President and would have been proud of the others if they achieved the same results with Bin Laden. Unfortunately they did not, so you give credit where credit is due.

Gaylon, you are one sick individual. Bush was a total failure and only won election by cheating. He should never have been allowed anywhere near the White House. He was as dumb as dumb can be. President Obama did a masterful job of finding and killing bin Laden and it wasn't just luck! He called on the same team that took out the Somolian pirates and saved the Captain's life. You need to give credit where credit is due and it has nothing to do with the loser Bush who said he didn't really care about bin Laden and had no idea where he was at, could care less, not relevant.

You're response is the typicial Republican resonse. Can't you come up with anything on your own? If I'm not mistakened, but wasn't it the Mighty Bush who's administration was on watch when the whole 9/11 event happened? There was some good CIA and "intelligence" work done there! Is it taboo to criticize that administration, at that time in history, that basically left the "side door" open to allow that event to take place? I think not....just a plain fact.

      May 3, 2011 at 7:56 am |

Bush was president for only 8 months when we were attacked. If you want to blame someone, try blaming Clinton. He was president through multiple attacks on the US – on our soil and abroad. What did Clinton do? Bush had his flaws, but he was by no means an idiot. Obama couldnt have done this in 2 years if it weren't for the 7 1/2 years of intelligence collected during the Bush administration.

      May 3, 2011 at 9:44 am |
    • Venkat

We should have done this about 8 years earlier. Mr. Bush wasted national energy and attention on an unwanted war for 6 years. The by-product of that war is growth of support to fanatical Islamic ideas of Bin Laden. The whole world was behind us in condemning 9/11 including some courtesy remarks by Sadam Hussein. But, we lost the momentum and sent the whole war-on-terror on a tail-spin. Although it may not have merit, to most it looked like US using the opportunity to grab more oil. He did not give his 100% to either of the fronts. He and his team were blinded by ideology and to some extent greed to support their oil baron friends, did not see things clearly. I think, Obama is doing a great job, pulled back the economy which according to most of economists was about to go over the cliff sending world on a tumble. In addition he got most of the TARP and GM money back. In fact the government made money in that deal. He handled Egypt in a subtle way, without interfering at the same time nudging the Military. He and Hillary are doing a good job in Libya. The dragged NATO and others who have a stake in seeing Gaddafi go to take due responsibility, while, giving time for the home grown moment to grow and learn. Suppose the world goes in and removes Gaddafi what next? Libya which does not have any sort of institution what so ever, would be as chaotic as Afghan after Soviet, in which Pak created Taliban took over. If a movement however rugged it is today will form some basis. In a way, the longer it takes in Libya is better for their future, as long as we continue to support them. So, stop looking with your myopic vision or limited understanding. May be you stop watching Fox (and coming to CNN just to bash Obama) and read international journals.

      May 3, 2011 at 10:11 am |
      • Monster Zero

So let me get this straight, interference for European oil in Libya is okay under Obama and is justified while interference in Iraq under Bush was bad and for US oil interests...sorry you're an idiot. This one is almost as tasty as another post on here proclaiming Obama's giving the order to kill OBL as a morsel of substance for his receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, you can't make this crap up...please continue, I have become an addict.

You have implicated the current President of the United States of America and used your twisted logic to somehow connect him with the holocaust all because George Soros contributes money to Liberal causes. As an American Jew I would resent your words instead I merely feel sorry for you. George Soros was 13 YEARS OLD in 1944 and was forced to deliver eviction notices to Jews at the point of Nazi guns–when he delivered the notices he wrned the Jews that they were eviction notices and to run for thier lives. Further, somehow this poor waif survived the war and went to live with his ORTHODOX JEWISH uncle. Soros made something of himself and daily makes significant contributions to Jewish causes and to other in need. You are part of the "conservative wackos" that believe somehow that if you repeat a lie long enough it will become fact. Remind you of anyone else? (Hint: he ran Germany from '33-45).

I can answer that one. Special Ops personnel identities are classified. Unless you have a need to know, you hear about them but you never see them.

    • KimberlyT

"why no photos of the Valiant Hero's" - oh gee, lets think about that one for a minute. Lets release the photos of the men who carried out this mission so that UBL's followers can hunt them down and kill them.

      May 3, 2011 at 1:46 am |
    • Mea Walker

US Special Forces personnel are never publicly identified. This policy protects them and their families from threats and physical harm that may be brought on due to their work in counterterrorism. If their names and photos were posted for all the world to see, al-Qaeda operatives would target them first in revenge. Is that what you want for these men?

      May 3, 2011 at 5:00 am |
    • Clacky

That would be Admiral (because he is US Navy) Mike Mullen. He is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and former Chief of Naval Operations – you know, the branch that has SEALS, like the ones who shot bin Laden.

      May 3, 2011 at 5:23 am |
    • Ann

We will never know the identity of the hero's that completed this mission.

      May 3, 2011 at 7:31 am |
    • Gary

Because they are special forces who do covert operations. Showing their pictures would make them and their families targets for reprisal.

      May 3, 2011 at 9:33 am |
    • kmoore

Raven – I'm pretty sure the identities of the brave americans who carried out this mission will be kept secret for the protection of their lives, as well as their families. Congratulations to President Obama for keeping his focus and catching his man. Within 5 months of taking office HE directed the CIA to get him a tag on Bin Laden within 30 days (Leadership), He continued to ask for progress , and didn't let anyone falter in the process (Focus). He kept a special survelience team to monitor movements and built a replica compound for our troops to train specifically for the ambush (Direction). HE made a decison to move on the target, while others around him were skeptical, and wanted more details (Courage). A true Commander in Chief! Obama 2012!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine the danger that those individuals (and their families) would be in if their identities were revealed? I would love to know who they are but for their safety, the safety of their families and their careers I have a feeling we might not know who they were for a very long time – unless some money loving, speck of a human being leaks the info!

What a "tool"...................they're not going to parade these Seals around in front of the media. That's not why they sign up. I hope we never learn who the team consisted of or who the trigger man was. It's not important and they would be torn apart by media from all over the world or worse yet........be threatened (their families as well) by the whack jobs that still support Osama and his sick a@@!

      May 3, 2011 at 10:45 am |
    • KJ

As others have already explained, it's because their identities are classified, and must be protected for their safety, the safety of their families, and for national security. But, to expound upon what's already been explained– One of the reasons that President Obama used phrases such as "I ordered" etc... is a lesson in behavioral analysis. It keeps the focus on him as the responsible party, for our enemies who might try to, for example, put a bounty on the heads of those operatives to performed the kill (quite common in terror circles). The President has effectively taken on that burden

We don't need to "entertain" our children with these photos or provoke extremist responses. We abhor it when enemies of America show dead Americans and gloat. We should be smart enough not to behave in kind. If published they will be everywhere in minutes. The appropriate action would be to display them in a secure room in the capital building of every state and allow adults only to view them, if they choose, without any cameras or phones

      May 3, 2011 at 1:10 pm |
    • KJ

It'd be a grave error, indeed, for images of this terrorist, after his demise, to be published and circulated as mass media. Civilized society, no matter how injured & offended by the precipitating dishonorable act (9-11) would get no joy, or satisfaction out of seeing a dead body, and certainly wouldn't facilitate any behavior that would make us appear to be as irrational, and uncivilized as those who seek to harm us, for the sake of idle curiosity or entertainment. A provocation to our enemies that would be iladvised, and unnecessary, especially in light of the fact that we have troops abroad who would very likely be a 'little' put out with unnecessarily introducing the element of increased anger and resentment towards them.

I like to believe that my United States is better than those who resort to vile acts of cruelty, and dishonor. Not because Osama bin Laden or his ilk was in any way deserving of honorable treatement, but because my fellow law abiding and upstanding human being ARE. For better or for worse, we've elected a President to lead the Executive branch of our government, and to be the leader of our armed forces. I will leave the responsibility of capturing or killing, and identifying the global villains to him. I don't need to "see proof", nor do my children. And, those who believe they have good reason to hate us, definitely don't need to see the worst of our society doing what they do best... circulating garbage & doctored photos with hate speech, claiming to represent "us", and "our" ideals. No thank you.

From the Afghan people, who were and are victims of terrorism sponsored by our neighbors we thank those who made the decision to eliminate the founder of terrorism. While things won't change for Afghanistan, Afghans are very comforted by the death of a terrorist who brought destruction to Afghanistan. Mr. President Obama you have a moral obligation towards Afghanistan instead of pressuring the government of Afghanistan who receive 1% of the aid directly- help us build the institutions and a pluralistic army with sincerety. We Afghans are not beggars so we will not ask for dollars like Pakistan, we request support and help to eliminate not just figures but terrorism from the region. If publicly US says Haqqani network is in N Waziristan along with Al qaeda and confirms Haqaani is supported by ISI and Pakistan army than why US pushes the truth under the rug while it gives them 5 billion a year.Afghans have repeatedly said that "Osama and Taliban are far from Islam but very close to Islamabad"...finding top terrorists in military cities like Rawalpindi and Abottabad or Business city like Karachi should be a clue..Again, we ask you carry out night raid against Pakistani generals homes not Afghan villages. Afghans have been victims from every side. Countries cannot sponsor terrorism against other countries and claim sovereignty at the same time. We wish humanity safety and prosperity...and for the long life of Afghanistan and US relationship.

I know this is a strange question-- but in PHOTO # 3 - WHAT IS THE GIANT CAPE-LIKE THINGY that Obama is ' hiding' behind?

It's not his coat [ or wind-breaker jacket] –as that can CLEARLY be seen in many of the other photos.

This thing is SUPER WIDE....and covers up OTHER ITEMS [as can be seen several 'sharp angular points' sticking out of the fabric on the right side.... and something else on the left side] It has 'seams' and comes up to his neck.......yet is longer than the photo, too.

HECK- THIS CAPE OR CLOAK IS AS WIDE AS THE WHOLE TABLE !!! And COVERS the WHOLE Table!!!

    Any thoughts, folks? ....
    What is it.... and WHY?

President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Panetta, pure intelligence! Military forces, pure intelligence! Genius, brilliant type of intelligence!
Does anyone here think for ½ a moment this would have happened without Obama! We knew, all of us, we knew if anyone was capable of this Obama was. When he was elected we knew he was the one to get this done and they did! Voted for him or not you knew he could do it. Makes some of you mad. I know.
If you can ever find any reason or excuse that our leader Barack Obama with Panetta and Hillary were handed this information years before you’re NUTS. Intelligence…spell it. This group is made of smart brilliant people and figured it out before throwing 8 years of empty Testosterone filled bombs into deserted hills. This took only 8 months.
Pakistan did not participate, did not provide intelligence, but gladly took 7 billion dollars from the foolish previous administration which most likely built Bin Laden’s compound!

If you’re foolish enough to write nonsense here or are trying to convince someone stupider than you like you’re family, coworkers or someone else of anything other that what’s in front of you then you’re you're misinformed by another fool and happily believe them or are angry, lying or JEALOUS! You all know better!

L Graham…dip your self in a glass of milk, your opinion is foolish.
We, the U.S.A. respect all humans, all religions, all colors, and now we know you and Sarah, and Trump to name a few do NOT have respect for others, other than yourselves! Go to bed!

I hope many of you are just playing super dumb, Every second is recorded for the intelligent to view with pleasure and you know better and are just being argumentative.

Bin laden had a proper Muslim funeral and burial. Amen.

If you disagree with this… well you’re opinion is a waste of time. Go to bed!!!

Is there ANY actual proof of this yet? How about this, i just killed Gaddafi, i have no pictures to prove it and i dumped his body in the ocean, BUT dont worry i have DNA evidence that you have no way of verifying or obtaining. There is no honest reason to believe me any more or less then you believe the gov't on Bin Laden. I'm not saying hes not dead, im just saying they literally have done nothing to prove it

Change comes slow. Too many stubborn idiots. A lot has changed, and will continue to change, under the great President. The best Presidents have all had much opposition to overcome. The worst had many supporters, too locked into failed policies. When this country was founded most of Congress was looking to make nice with King George. Only a select few saw the way things should be.

      May 3, 2011 at 12:08 am |
    • Coy

Gays being married is a state issue, not national, marriage licenses are issued by the state but just like desegregating the military helped pave the way for civil rights, getting rid of don't ask don't tell is a start. You can't close the nuke plants until you create the alternative fuel source, that is an issue that lobbyist and special interest groups will fight tooth and nail b/c it hurts somebodies bottemline. Offshore drilling going strong???.....Google Shell drilling operations and read how after they invested $4B towards drilling, they were denied and how the EPA has also denied drilling in the Gulf. Gitmo was supposed to be shut down and the prisoners moved to New York, but the Right Wing conservatives got all pissy and that was shut down, now other countries won't take them.(They don't believe in death penalty) Imagine if they did come state side...American Jurisdiction + American Trial + American Judge + American Jury = Death Row (African Americans have been rail roaded in the same system since it's inception, just ask the ones who were recently freed from death row for being falsely accused, and the judge in Illinois who is in jail now for taking bribes to put "people" on Death Row....Google it.

You want a working Government, first accept we are a Republic, not a Democracy, fire the politicians with labels (Democrats, Republicans), remove special interest groups (their not interested in the people of this country, just the bottem line), and vote for peolpe who have an allegiance to the people and not the parties.

      Just a thought.

You can thank the idiot Republicans for crumbling nuclear plants and oil spills. Republicans are corporate-run and do as they are told by corporations. Republicans just tried to get rid of the EPA (told to by the Oil Billionaire Koch Brothers so they would no longer have to follow any clean air regulations or take responsibility for oil spills), get rid of the Nuclear Regulatory agency because 80% of our nuclear plants are at the end of or past their intended life cycle. They need to be shut down or totally renovated. NONE of the owners of these dangerous nuclear plants want to spend the money to bring their dangerous facilites within compliance.
It's called GREED and Republicans are KINGS OF GREED and hatred for the American People. They have not done ONE SINGLE THING for the American PEOPLE in years. They destroyed our economy, brought down the stock market, let banks run wild with no regulations and they cheated and lied to people on mortgages leading to the destruction of our housing market. Bush LIED about IRAQ intentionally so he and Cheney could go steal their oil for Cheney's oil company.
In 2002 Bush announced he was not interested in finding Osama because he was irrelelvant and stopped all efforts to find him. It was during an address to the nation.
Bush and the Republicans DESTROYED this country, KILLED our soldiers for a fraudulent war to steal oil for Cheney's benefit, committed international war crimes on TORTURE which the CIA says gave them NOTHING to work with in terms of information. Bush was a moron who barely graduated from Yale and only got in because his Daddy went there and paid them a ton of money in donations.
Republicans are HATEFUL, RACIST LIARS WHO CANNOT ACCEPT THE FACT WE HAVE A BRILLIANT BLACK PRESIDENT WHO KNOWS HOW TO LEAD, RESTORE THE ECONOMY, HANDLE FOREIGN POLICY, AND COORDINATE COVERT OPERATIONS TO FIND AND KILL OSAMA BIN LADEN. HE IS OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF AND HE MADE THE DECISION WHICH OPTION WOULD BE USED TO GO AFTER HIM – DIRECT ASSAULT SO THEY COULD ALSO GATHER IMPORTANT INTELLIGENCE DATA IN OSAMA'S HOUSE. THE GENERALS JUST WANTED TO BOMB THE HOUSE BUT PRESIDENT OBAMA WANTED A SPECIAL FORCES ACTIONS SO THEY DID NOT LOSE ALL THE INTELLIGENCE DATA IN THE HOUSE. IT WAS A BRILLIANT MOVE BECAUSE THE NAVY SEALS FOUND A TON OF USABLE DATA ON AL QAEDA PLANS.
REPUBLICANS ARE SO IGNORANT, NASTY, AND JUVENILE THEY WILL NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THIS GREAT JUSTICE THE NATION REAPED FROM THE KILLING OF OSAMA.
FOR YOU IDIOTS TOO – THEY DUMPED HIS BODY IN THE OCEAN SO HIS FOLLOWERS COULD NOT MAKE A SHRINE OF WHERE HE WAS BURIED AND THEY FOLLOWED ISLAM BURIAL TIMING TO NOT UPSET MUSLIM NATIONS WHO WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO BUILD POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS FOR THE SECURITY OF OUR COUNTRY.
YOU REPUBLICANS ARE JUST TOO STUPID TO THINK BEYOND YOUR OWN SELFISH, UNEDUCATED TINY WORLD.

Democrats have a heart, Republicans have a brain. America was founded and has thrived as a cut-throat capitalist free-market country. I am an American, so it is my natural birthright to be as successful as I can be in life. If you don't like being sucessfull, and want to work in a factory all of your life and have everything equal, then move to france. It sounds like you are bitter that you are at the bottom half of the food chain, yet you have taken no steps to improve your situation other than look to the government for handouts. It is not the government's job to provide for you; that is your job to do for yourself. America simply gives you the freedom to pursue these asperations. The beauty of America is that we allow people to both FAIL and SUCCEED. This is how we weed out the mediocrity and provide only the best. And it sounds alot like you are the one who is full of hatred and bitter resentment. One thing in this world is certian – if you cannot provide for yourself, then you will never make it. Grab some ambition, stop blaming the government for your problems, and grow up and contribute something productive to life.

      • Knight

Why are you the only one on here referring to him as a "Black President" instead of "The President?" That sounds racist! As for Rebulicans being greedy and not doing anything for the American people.. I disagree. Ok who is not greedy? Look at Obama, he is trying to have complete control of everything so American's have to go to the government for everything. Russia tried that and it failed and they collasped. It is call Marxism, you should read about and it would scare you and every other Obama supporter at how VERY close he is following that line. But you won't. You will just accuse me of being a racist, greedy, ignorant Republican. Your call.. But as for Republican's never doing anything for Americans...WOW, that is way off.. Let's look at the pay raises given to the military during the Bush administration (and Clinton for that matter) and compare them to what Obama gave?! Still want to say the Republicans don't give? Still think Obama is doing better than them in that aspect? I think not. What Obama gave was the lowest pay raise since the Korean War.
As for the Oil issue...did you go to Berkley? Stop hugging a tree or do you enjoy paying $4.00 a gallon? At least Bush tried to lower gas prices and pass legislation so we could drill into US oil reserves. But Like Obama, the tree huggers said no. Well enjoy the continued rising cost of gas then, at least Bush and Cheany tried to reduce the cost to Americans...something Obama I don't think will ever do, unless of course he has complete control, again called Marxism.
Well if Bush killed our country, I guess we all died and went to hell and met Satan, better known as Obama becasue he is not not helping us one bit. Only kicking us down farther.
There is a reason Bush "claimed" he did not care about "Bin Sleeping in the Arabian Sea"...it is called tactics. But since you are so anti Bush (republican), you would never stop to think about that. We have not stopped looking for him for one second. Why do you think we finally got him? I did not spend 6 months in Afghanistan mining Lapis so you could have some nice jewelry to wear while you sit in Starbucks, sipping coffee and bitching about things you are not educated on. Obama has you fooled, right where he wants you and the rest of the US. We Rublicans are not selfish. I did not give 20 years of my life to protect your freedoms and right to voice your thoughts just to be called selfish. Quite the opposite of selfish I think, and you and your family and friends are very welcome. I would glady do it again...enjoy your week!

Now that I'm done with my overwrought sarcasm, I'd like you to kindly refrain from taking a position in public relations for Obama. Our blessed President already has that taken care of and is not taking any applications.

Hey Beverly, those crumbling nuclear plants were built using organized Union labor and Government specified materials, the very best our tax dollars could fund. If you haven't been able to ascertain the effect of EPA over regulation from your Government funded job perhaps you should look at Florida as an example with the abuse of the Safe Drinking Water Act, seeing as most of the public is on private supply water anyway, EPA has mandated enhanced treatment regulations for Stormwater treatment to the point that it is so cost prohibitive to develop anything that growth and development has nearly ceased. If you want to build a parking lot, when the new rules go into effect, you will lose approximately 30% of your upland site to stormwater treatment, remember you can't impact wetlands so you just lost most of your developable property...sheer stupidity and utter bureaucratic malfeasance with regard to private property rights...but of course this is what progressive liberalism stands for. Kool-Aide FREE of charge!

        May 3, 2011 at 9:54 pm |
      • Monster Zero

        Kman-
If you are referring to TARP initiated under GW Bush, I think that money has been repaid fairly consistently with interest. If you are talking of the billions given away to special interests like Wall Street on the Right and political activists for cash such as Unions and community organizing groups such as ACORN, I call that fraud and abuse of taxpayer monies to buy an election, that is what I call it. I think Dodd. Franks, Geithner and Bernanke should all be held personally accountable for what they have done to the US economy, this never would have occurred without their meddling and we would have been through this had they let it sink, they've prolonged this and the debt incurred will haunt us for years to come. Isn't funny that the only one's truly left unscathed by the economy are the government employee's and the politicians, they haven't missed a taxpayer funded meal!

    May 3, 2011 at 12:58 am |

Liz, I just read his comment, I really did not know what he meant by this. 3 million dead Jews? I did not think he was talking about the holocaust. I think there were many more killed than that. But I do not know.

I looked up George Soros and found that he said “America Should Be Replaced By a World Government With a Global Currency Under UN Rule” That he is a Hungarian Jew who has been described as anti-God, anti-family and anti-American. By his own admission he even helped confiscate the homes of fellow Jews in Hungary in 1944. These are all things that look bad for George Soros not Gaylon. I think even you would not like someone that took homes from Jews.

I think Gaylon is just mad because Barry associates him self with this guy.If so I can understand his point. If you find something racist about Gaylon's comment please point it out more specifically. If it is true I will side with you and call him out on it. I just do not see it at this time.

Was this the first time such a critical US mission was watched by the White House in "real time"?

I smell the "Prize", for White House photographer Pete Souza ......

To be able to see and feel the intensity of our White House "Seat Of Power Brokers", chronicled, has to rank with other of the most powerful photos of the century.

Hats off to White House photographer Pete Souza for masterly capturing for posterity, what has never been seen by the full public..

I am curious as to why was the burial carried out in the sea, when he was killed on land? I am not an expert in Islamic beliefs, but it seems that their first preference is burial on land unless the person is killed at sea (Thank you Wikipedia).

I'm just guessing, but from what I've read, there was a question as to whether or not any country would accept the body. And then what kind of shrine would be built around his grave? By burial at sea, they get rid of the body and impossible to "pilgrimage" to the site.

  52. Joe

John Boehner on the killing of Osama Bin-Laden.. Where are the jobs you promised mr. president? Excuse me, my bad! Where is the body you promised mr.president? Let's face it, the reality is that the racist southern confederate republican party and the racist mainstream media are dying with envy because President Obama has been successful is eradicating Bin-Laden. My suggestion to the republicabn party is that if they cannot handle what the Obama administration has just accomplished, then they can all come together and commit mass suicide and do America a well deserved favor. Let's face it when President Obama completes his second term I believe that historians will declare that President Obama was the greatest President in U.S. history. For example, President Obama did not take office on a clean slate as he inherited an economic crisis, the worst since the Great Depression, an unemployment epidemic spreading across America like the Bubonic plague, and two wars overseas. Then if you felt that was enough, the President also has had to deal with these daunting task while facing constant roadblocks and unjust scrutiny and racist and bigoted attacks by the confederate rednecks in congress and in the mainstream media. And yet, with all these obstacles, President Obama has accomplished more in two years for America than any previous eighy year administration in American history. That's leadership we can count on. Hence, that's leadership worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize. Hence, President Obama is the greatest F--ng President in U.S. history.

I am a proud Democrate, but I strongly believe this mission was a joint effort on many levels. Obama picked the best troops we have, our intellgence was amazing and Obama used the past presidents knowledge to make an amazing call. I am so Proud to say I am an American. A huge thank you the the American Troops, President Bush, President Clint, and President Obama as well as our intellgence group. Yesterday we showed the rest of the world why America is a great country.

Lets stop the insults regarding Bush and Obama. They are 2 great men who have led our country in challenging times. I am not a Bush fan by nature, but we must rally behind our leaders and show support. Together we suceed apart we will fail.

Remember Bin-Laden saying on one of his tapes a few years ago that while the west is afraid to die, muslims on the other hand like to die? People, people, people...let us not denegrate those who are staunch defenders of America's last Republican president. Bear in mind that Mr. Bush spoke with feeling to the hearts & minds of those who would understand him and be of the same ilk. Let us hope that sometime in the near future the ridding of the world of bin Laden will allow our armed forces in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and elsewhere to come home. The drain of dollars to the Defense Dept. can be lifted and spent in areas more in need of funds – re-education of Bush lovers to what a true patriotic American President is supposed to be.

Those of you that keep dogging Bush for lack of intellectual capacity are truly funny. His IQ is listed as 134, while Obama's is listed as 129. Hmmmmmm. Anyone that holds that office must be fairly intelligent in order to be elected by the majority of Americans, whether you agree with their policies or not. Those that continually denigrate either individual (Obama or Bush) for "lack of intelligence," is really showing their own lack.

it's so hypocritical of you to praise Obama's use of deadly force, but hated Bush doing the same thing. Obama has continued the Bush policies and opened up a 3rd front against Muslims in Libya, kept Gitmo open, used intel gathered by CIA, doubled down in Afghanistan. When Bush did this, it was war crimes, when Obama does the same things, he's a great American? Give me a break! You guys are total Kool Aid drinkers!

Jerry, Obama still has troops there in Iraq. Gitmo is STILL open, doubled down in Afghanistan. The intel Bush used was the same logic Clinton and many other demarcates cited.

Actually, Bush got Congressional approval and unanimous UN security council approval for the brave action he took in Iraq. Brought down a brutal dictator, who actually murdered more then bin Laden, and was brought to justice. Obama didn't get congress approval and didn't get unanimous UN SC approval for Libya.

Thought you libtards were against war/killing? Go weep for a tree or something really important like that. Leave the real world stuff to real men.

Does anyone think for ½ a moment this would have happened without Obama! We knew, all of us, we knew if anyone was capable of running this country Obama was. When he was elected and chose Hillary we knew he was capable of great decisions. The power was building.

Now we will see the wicked tongues of jealousy, prejudice and manipulation from those who cannot bare the magnitude of the power of this administration.

If you’re foolish enough to try convincing someone stupider than you like your audience or listeners, that Barack Obama with Panetta and Hillary were handed this information years before by the Bush Admin then you will be embarrassing yourself with no answer to Why didn't Bush do this? That's all, why didn't Bush do this instead of Obama if he had the info that you claim.

Pakistan did not participate, did not provide intelligence, but gladly took 7 billion dollars from the Bush administration which most likely helped build Bin Laden’s compound! Then covered up their incompetence by claiming a loss of interest. Are you saying Bush lost interest when he had the information all along? Is that what I'm hearing so many jealous manipulators say here?

Will Obama admit Bush's stance on terror was right? HUH? Fox news...you think Bush was right? He lost interest!

Obama is not alone out there. This administration happened from the collective efforts of the American people and our foresight that B. Obama was a truly competent, intelligent, caring man and necessary for our country. He was brought into this administration by a very intelligent country of people thru a process called VOTING!

Bin laden had a proper Muslim funeral and burial. Amen
Everything that has happened in Pakistan is recorded, photographed, documented in LONG FORM.
Patience is a virtue. In time it will be releasded.

So the current administration figured this all out by themselves
    Really? Really,.

And you believe this to be a mission they did on their own?? ..
Maybe develop in Hollywood. Not the current WH administration.

Why are there all a sudden so many pictures available and it is so well organized??

Then how fake was this, everyone watching a raid that we know was going to be a success.

I do not doubt that Osama is Dead.
However I do not think that we had anything to do with his death.

We have been monitoring his whereabouts since 2007.
Everybody knows that Osama was in poor health due to Kidney failure.

The current administration probably picked up a transmission that Osama was dying.

So what better way to look good and get reelected then stage a FAKE raid that we knew was going to be a success.

Then get the body, burn the place to the ground to get of evidence that Osama was dying.
Most important get rid of the body by a burial at sea so there would be no proof that he died of Kidney failure .

One of the commanders even stated that Osama did not have a gun or did not try to reach for one.
So then why shoot him in the head 2 times??

Do you really believe everything that you read and they show you on TV ??

Why twice in the head you ask?? It is called double tap! You got to make sure the bastard is dead! LOL

But I have to agree.. things seem a bit staged, but you never know. Of course it is a re-election stunt to have all the pics etc... He knows he is losing the confidence of most Americans (for obvious reasons like gas prices, unemployment, etc that he promised to fix, I guess this is our "Change!"). Some Americans, especially members of the Republican Right have not taken time to know Obama. Their prejudice has blinded them to the fact that we have a very brilliant and well educated leader who is perceptive and clear thinking. He is not proud or rude or envious of others' success. He is able to give credit where it is due and has assembled around him a team of capable people who help him lead this nation. People need to get to know Obama, to appreciate his leadership skills and support him. Considering the mess he inherited from the previous administration, me thinks the fellow is doing a great job as president. Good radiance Mr. President!

Why must everything be a competition?? Bush lost track of Osama years ago, 2002 he said himself he didn't know where he was and they lost him when they had the opportunity to get him soo............Good intelligence is not worth much if you don't act on it and think through a cohesive plan before acting. President Obama put together a good team and they worked TOGETHER and accomplished what the Bush administration could not because of big egos like Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld. Bush had a horrible REPUBLICAN national security team! Since they could not get Osama they went after Saddam Hussein, guess 1 out of 2 aint bad.

You should all be ashamed of yourself. Go a step further and don't even give credit. Just come together as a country and unite.

Don't kill me but I believe the Miracle on Ice to be the last time this country felt a true sense of unity among one another. 9/11 no doubt was a time for that too. But on 9/11 there existed the interntet, 400 news outlets jockeying for ratings, politicians looking to use it to their own advantage, and another several thousand people looking to "get in on the action" any way they could just so they could be famous, make money, and million other things that just convoluted the entire situation into people's own personal gains. And then of course GWB completely botching the entire thing for us. Call me crazy but in trying to feel a sense of unity, it became hard when people complained about things like being late because they had to wait to get into their buidling because of security check etc.....and the once 9/11 died out, they went back to being their own selfish selves.

The Miracle on Ice represented the resilliancy of the USA. USA vs. Russia in such a time of intense conflict between the two countries where the slightest slip-up could've resulted in who knows what. It was like Americans were their own spieces and were invaded by the Soviets on their home soil – when we sent them packing with a sliver medal, there was not a moment more sweet for this country's pride (in my lifetime anyway) – that was the last time I can remember truly feeling it. Forget giving credit and insulting each other and rejoice. Hug your brothers and sisters and just forget for once that you are strangers. Stop exercising your rights and just shut up for once and unite.

Wow! You so called conservatives will believe anything that is said about G.W. Bush. The videos were posted yesterday of Bush saying he really was not giving any thought to where OBL was and that he was not a priority. How can he not be a priority. He put together the attack on this country and our embassies in Africa. They also showed the video of President Obama during the campaign that this would be a top priority once in office and he did. Bush closed the office that was assigned to finding intelligence on the whereabouts of OBL. I wonder why? Oh he was to busy jerking the American people around with Iraq and Saddam Hussien, and Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Left our efforts in Afghanistan to falter. President Obama reasserted our efforts in Afghanistan and got results. You all will never give the man credit for anything and this is well known. But as for those who really care about this great country. Great Job Mr. President, and your intelligence team and especially our armed forces for finally "KEEPING US SAFE".

At this point, forget about the Bush era. What has happened and what will continue to happen is a culmination of experience, expertise, knowledge, street smarts, whatever it takes mentality, etc. People elected the commander and chief to make tough decisions, and he did it. I've been a life-long republican but party affiliation means nothing when it comes down to the life or death decisions, it boils down to intelligence, and the ability to think clearly in a time of unspeakable pressures. The President did what he was supposed to do, he made a decision with the best information he had available to him, and whether it be from information that was gathered 4 years ago when then President Bush was the president or from a meeting with a clandestine agent a week ago is beside the point. This bickering back and forth as to who did what and when and under what president is a joke, and just when we as Americans do something good we act like children bickering about Bush and Obama and who did what, and then we wonder why the world thinks we're a joke. Show the picture of Osama Bin Laden dead and then lets move on......I mean move on, that job was done, now we need once again to focus on the further threats from around the world, our economy, and $5 a gallon gas. Osama is dead, lets get going again!!

It think it took a team effort of folks who worked for both adminstrations. And who knows maybe some long timers that might go all the way back to Clinton. The constant was the military. They are the true keepers of the faith. They did thier job and took thier orders from the "Current" commader in chief. They system worked the way it was supposed to. Both Admins have made mistakes. But in the end it took this joint effort to get it done. Job well done by one and all !! Great day for OUR country.

Oh, right, all along the GOP has been screaming at Obama to stop blaming Bush for our current problems, but now, of course, they want to praise Bush for being the one who made it possible to capture Osama. Obama got Osama, face it.

Wow, you can sure tell who the racist liberals are on here, with all their name calling, lack of facts and Obama worship. Whew, I don't think this country could survive another 4 years of this president. We already have a falsly inflated/supported stock exchange, while in real America the recession is going strong with housing prices still falling, unemployment through the roof. I have never seen such playing with the numbers going on in my entire life. Proof positive that what my statistics instructor back in college said was true, "you can make the numbers say anything you want them to say."

Every one of the problems facing the US started with the Bush administration as they had a SURPLUS when they took office and they gave it all to their wealthy friends and war profiteers – Halliburton earned 40 cents of every dollar we have spent in Iraq – you blame Obama for the economy- that was the Repbulicans making. You blame him for unemployment- that is due to the Bush era's tax breaks for the wealthiest who export all of their jobs oversees so they can make even more profits! You need to read history rather than blame Obama – he saved us from total economic destruction which the Bush years caused . Try the truth for a change.

to shadowbox... Hilary Clinton will not run again. She is still trying to pay off the debts during her campaign. While I do think that she is doing a good job as Secretary of State, she reports to President Obama, she cannot make a decision or a speech with out his approval. The decision to "go" with this plan was the Presidents. From other posts that I have read this morning, the President is coming out well ahead of Donald Trump and he will be re elected. I encourage the GOP to hold off and look for a possible candidate in 2016. Although, I would really like to see Susan Rice run for the office. I don't sign on to any of you comments claiming GWB should get credit for the assassination of Bin Laden. Even he had the good sense enough not to try to deflate the balloon joy and glory of yet another decision or directive of PRESIDENT OBAMA'S! One of you asked did liberals watch the newsmedia; well yes! I've missed many of my favorite shows trying to flip back and forth. I keep up with all the cable news outlets, because that's where I'm able to discern what may be closer to the truth of a thing.

    May 3, 2011 at 6:09 pm |
  96. Linda

GWBush walked away from his chance to get Bin Laden- he held hands with the Saudis and made sure that the Bin Laden family members in the US got planes out of here when the rest of us could not fly anywhere. He started an illegal and unnecessary war with Iraq and literally told us that he rarely ever thought of Bin Laden anymore so to say he should get credit fro Obama triumph is ridiculous. Bush lost – he couldn't even win a war against a small country like Iraq. he declared Mission Accomplished years ago with out ever even trying really to get Bin Laden. This is Barack Obama's victory!

    May 3, 2011 at 6:28 pm |
    • Jack Pearl

First off, the Mission Accomplished speech, ill advised as it was, refered to the overthrow of the Baath party in Iraq. No one ever said that the war on terror was over, and you're the first person I've ever heard imply that Bush was saying that.

Secondly, agents had already been on the tail of the courier for more than a year before Oboma took office. Of course Obama gets credit for continuing the hunt and ordering the hit. But it's not like he started from scratch or made a major change in stratagy. Saying that Oboma succeed where Bush ignores all the intel gathered over the previous seven years.

Watching the news is when I saw Bush standing up there on a podium talking to the press; saying he was no longer interested in BIN LADEN; that Bin Laden's just one man; he alluded to the fact that he was not AL QUAEDA all by himself; saying AL QUAEDA was spreaded out all over and Bin Laden wasn't the only terrorist! BUSH literally said, he wasn't really interested in Bin Laden anymore; he was no longer on his mind! Was he really ever on his mind? BUSH could've caught him in Afghanistan, but he went to IRAQ!

    May 3, 2011 at 6:30 pm |
    • Notfooled

Exactly-–And he should get the credit? All he was interested in was clearing brush on his land in Texas. That's why the trail for Osama went cold till President Obama made it a top priority again. Bush gave up long ago.( in his own words -he was not concerned about him)

Kinda funny how everyone forgot just a couple weeks ago the OBAMA ADMIN. Was debating on whether or not to pay the military. The same military that he is commander in chief of.... but make no mistake about it A SOLDIER IN THE ARMED FORCES KILLED BIN LADEN NOT OBAMA!

    May 3, 2011 at 6:49 pm |
  99. Liz Carter in Georgia

Personally, the only credit I see BUSH being awarded, thanks to Cheney and Rumsfeld, is 'setting off' this whole seemingly everlasting, lingering firestorm that was still brewing and burning when PRESIDENT OBAMA took office! OBAMA had to go in open up the question of OSAMA BIN LADEN again, since it was by his own mouth, closed or no longer a main concern of GWB's in MARCH, 2003! OBAMA and the 'war room', through study and restrategizing the operation were able to kill Bin Laden. Now Bush get's the credit??

    May 3, 2011 at 6:57 pm |
  100. Liz Carter in Georgia

The only other people who should get accolades and 'props' would be everyone who was in that room, i.e. HILLARY, BIDEN, GATES that GENERAL, and the others; the US NAVY SEALS and SPECIAL OPS UNITS for bravely and tactfully recieving the PRESIDENT'S directive and carrying out that mission to a 'T'! They brought it to a successful end. This should've happened years ago! Either Bush took his eyes off the prize, or they really didn't want BIN LADEN! BTW, I sign on to JESSE VENTURA'S views of this whole mess!!

Liz-are you serious, Jesse Ventura? The truther...demolition expert Navy Seal wannabe Ventura...I am telling you that a few thousand gallons of jet fuel burning at the right temperature will result in a catastrophic failure of a structure due to fatigue of the steel caused by excessive heat, let alone structural damage from impact. and what service do you perform? Have you served? Barack Obama made the decision to get OSAMA and he worked closely with his military to do it and do it well! No other civilians were killed, no Americans wounded at all. He is a hero! Bush let Osama go – he stopped searching for him because it was too hard – so he just attacked an innocent small country and like a kid at a video console, yelled out Shock and Awe! How any of you can somehow support him and claim that he got Osama is just like Bush claiming Mission Accomplished years ago when nothing was happening but pure chaos caused by his pre emptive war and profiteering.

      May 4, 2011 at 11:54 am |
      • Monster Zero

When you say he just attacked a small country instead, do you mean Obama and Libya or do you mean Bush and Iraq? By the way, I don't think it was the Bush Administration that hung the "Mission Accomplished" banner on the Aircraft carrier, I believe it may have been done by the Commander and crew of the carrier as that stood behind their Commander in Chief. Here is another newsflash, it was Tina Fey in an SNL skit that stated she could see Russia from her back porch...

        May 4, 2011 at 12:39 pm |
      • Jack Pearl

No-one in either administration "let Osama go" or "stopped looking." Osama escaped from Tora Bora because the border with Pakistan wasn't fully secured. The Army had to stop its offensive at the border, the Pakistanis wouldn't have taken it too well if we had rolled our tanks into their country.

But despite the downright puzzling comments in the YouTube clip, our intell services never stopped looking for him. The trail went cold for awhile, but from what's been released so far, it would appear that the chain of clues leading to Osama began about five or six years ago. Oboma derserves credit for continuing the hunt, and for ordering the kill, but saying that Bush let Osama go when he could have killed him is not supported by the evidence.

Lisa, there never has been a surplus. Not a budget surplus anyway. If you check the facts, you'll find that every congress since Reagan was president have been raiding the "trust" funds. All 143 of them. Not just Social Security. These 'borrowed' funds are not counted in the regular budget. Let's see, they borrowed 115 billion from the trust fund, only spend 70 billion of it and when the have 45 billion left, they call it a "budget surplus'. That's exactly the shell game they've played. It wasn't Clinton, it wasn't Bush 1 or Bush 2, it isn't Obama. The president doesn't have the ability to spend one single dime of tax payer money, only the Congress. Reagan reformed Social Security in 1984 and the increased revenue pulled us back from 18% interest rates. It led to the expansion of the 80's/90's. Now we've gone through that and more. Everyone says Social Security is safe but my question is, how is Uncle Sam going to put the 2.7 trillion back in the "trust" fund? Where is it going to come from and if its from the tax payer, isn't that like us paying twice? Osama being taken out was good, but on the list of priorities, it was pretty low. Oil, debt, violence, inflation, these are problems that threaten us a lot more than bin laden.

I'm not a physicist, engineer nor a scientist, but I've seen a few implosions, Monster Zero! Those buildings looked just like they were imploded! Oh yeah, the planes did crash into them; they went in on the sides and not all the way through. Just using the little common sense I have, it seems illogical to me that those three buildings could just drop down to the grownd in broken up chunks of rocks and acidious cement powder, inside of 1 or 2 hours, and it's still peculiar to me! I'm just sayin'!

    May 3, 2011 at 10:47 pm |

Liz, The jet liners hold several thousand pounds of jet fuel, kerosene..when the aircraft slammed into the building it disintegrated the interior and I would be sure took out or damaged various members of the structural framework. That coupled with the heat from a jet fuel fed fire created enough heat to result in metal fatigue. There is a video I saw of a fuel truck that caught fire underneath a steel beam overpass, it burned and the overpass eventually collapsed as the intense heat damaged the structural integrity of the steel. Concrete weighs about 125lbs per cubic foot, as the structure fails it collapses in on itself and the weight of the debris and gravity do the rest. Trust me, I do have a well based working knowledge of the dynamics involved with the structural failure, Jesse Ventura is an idiot...he was a wrestler and body builder and pretty much of a goof.

Fact number one Iraq had wmd, how do we know this, because Saddam used them on the Kurds killing millions of people. Fact two, Bin Laden would not have been killed if Bush had done what Obama wanted and stopped the waterboaring of terrorists. Fact three, Bush tried to get bin laden in tora bora but bin laden was tipped off by pakistani's, as a result we missed him by less than a hour. Fact four this has been an ongoing operation for 5 years by the CIA. Fact five, after being informed about his whereabouts Obama did the right thing, the same thing Bush or any other President would have done and ordered him to be killed. End of story.

So here's what I've gathered from all these posts...Apparently, the fact that Obama is in office when Osama was killed is luck, but the economy not being great while Obama is in office....is his own doing? Why can't we decide on one or the other? Either way, he's signing off on plans or legislation. So pick: is it luck (good or bad) or is it his decision-making skills? Personally, I disagree with many of his policies, but I do think he's a genuinely nice and funny man who makes great calls when it comes to the military. (Strange, when elections came around weren't one of the arguments against Obama that he couldn't handle the military because of no prior military service?) Just some thoughts.

They have NO F+++IN CLUE what they were doing and seeing until it became painfully clear. For this reason I DO believe Osama is dead. Look at the fright on Clinton's face. No one said it would be easy or quick. Right after 9/11 Bush said on TV that this "War on Terror may take years to finish but we will finish it." Looks like he was right. Nobody hid the deficit. It was a major issue on both sides during the 2008 campaign. Yes, Oboma did inherit a large deficit from Bush. But the deficit has only grown, and at a faster rate, since he took office. To be honest though, a lot of this is being driven by manditory progams dating back to before either President was born.

Mr Barrow: A 50 year Democrat, who voted for Obama, a 30 year retired military veteran of two tours in VIETNAM, who got along with 'the blacks', but thinks blacks owe a debt to the Republicans for freeing our 'dumb rears'! We will let you thank them for us, Mr 50 year Democrat; you seem to be able to 'thank' sooo well! You all killed the REPUBLICAN we wish we could've thanked. Now all we have is GOD to thank.

Nobody abandoned Afghanistan or the hunt for Bin Laden. Even while the Iraq war was raging, the hunt continued, albiet with less publicity. To adress the racial issue, no race or ethnic group owes any debt to either party. Votes should be based on who you think will do the best today, not on whose party issued the Emancipation Proclamation or the Civil Rights Act (both of which had bipartisan support across the North and West)

Also, who is the 'Republican you wish you could have thanked' and who are you accusing of the murdur?

Besides Liar-in-Chief, is President NObama a murderer; particularly in order to score political points?

    Just asking!

The killing of Bin Ladan does not make Oboma a murderer. The president has the authority to order the assassination of enemy leaders during times of war. I don't agree with most of his policies, but he made the right call here.

@sadstateusa; great responses! Good idea; if they want the credit give it all to them! Talk about cherry-picking! BTW, @Monster Zero; another one of your Republican Commander-in-Chiefs was in charge when the US MARINE barracks was blown up in LEBANON, OK? None other than the 'great orator', RONALD REAGAN.

At least Ronnie could give a speech without a teleprompter...at least Ronnie broke the Iron curtain....at least Ronnie corrected the Carter economy...at least Ronnie pulled the Marines out of Beirut without bombing the piss out of the goat herders....At least Ronnie had leadership qualities and experience...and I guess the debt since 2006 when Democrats controlled Congress until now is somehow GW Bush's fault, all 14.3 trillion dollars of it?

Liz once said that she does not care about facts. That her opinion was more important. So, warning, don't quote any numbers, dates, names or give links to government websites to back up your statements. She will only accuse you of plagiarism.

Ok everyone just tone it down. Despite the disagreements about Iraq, Gitmo, public trials vs military tribunals, and the like, the overall stratagy in pursuing Al-Quada has remained virtually changed in the last 10 years. Fight and kill the terrorists wherever they show themselves, aid local governments against Al-Quada supported groups, offer rewards to for the bad guys' capture or death, and pursue leads from any source we can get: informers, interigations, tapped phone and internet lines, satalite photos, rumaging through trash bins, whatever.

Throughout all the public debate and controversy, the military and intelligence communitty have been doing their thing, both in, and mainly out, of the public eye.

    Sorry Liz-
Sorry, I meant to say half white...you should probably try just checking American, we are all in the same sinking boat. I believe that President Obama would check whatever met his need for the day depending on the campaign wind, whether pandering to the lobbyists, Unions or Wall Street bankers, he is above all 100% politician. This diversification of our society by race and wealth simply plays to their needs, wake up. You seem like a good person and I truly mean no ill to you, this is just my opinion and I am voicing it just the same as you are.

You got that right. It's 'Cos of their Racist disdain hate for smart and the most intelligent Pres. Obama; due solely for the color of his skin and nothing else. These racists just can’t stand the sight and thought of a competent Black man as President of US. These racists will vote against their own interests. These are the same people who appear on TV's creaming on top of their lungs claiming that they don't need the Fed. Gov't or Pres. Obama yet; when they are hit by storms, floods or tornadoes they same idiots will crying like cry babies on TV’s accusing Pres. Obama for not paying them a visit or provide assistance for them. You can’t just understand these racist idiotic Americans and their backward primitive mindset no matter how hard you try to reason with them. They go bed with hate filled hearts towards Pres. Obama and his family. To all Racists trailer park folks; hate is toooooooooo much of a burden to bear. You will enter the gates of HELL with your racist filled hearts in eternity.

OK I added the last 'racist' just to make a point. But seriously Che-3 gives a hate filed rant about hate. Just a little hypocritical don't you think? To quote, one of Barry's biggest supporters, "Drop the hate it is too much of a burden to bear."

    Hi,
Lot of global tensions is going on at this time. Japan is expected to pull out its money from the global market as they want to revamp their country now. In current scenario anything can happen in the Share market Investors are advised not to panic and stay invested only safe traders and investors should exit their long positions on every high and one can use every decline as an opportunity to enter market again.
    Regards

I didn't care about FACTS, Jay? They have their place sometimes. PEOPLE! what I said was, I liked the TRUTH better! The truth stands alone and can't be spinned as easily; past, present, and future! I said 'facts' are easily manipulated often, because they can be changed from min-to-min, hour-to-hour, day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month, year-to-year by whomever is in charge of 'the books', so to speak. They're changed whenever it's necessary to gain a desired perception from the people! Media is bad!
