Americans want Congress to invoke War Powers

The CNN Political Unit reports a majority of Americans want Congress to invoke the War Powers Act, believing that President Obama should not have the have the final authority for deciding whether the U.S. should continue its military mission in Libya.  The findings come in a new CNN/Opinion Research Poll.

CNN Polling Director Keating Holland breaks it down:

"That's a common reaction from the American public," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "Although Congress as an institution is held in fairly low regard, over the past two decades Americans have typically told pollsters that Congress should be the branch of government to make these kinds of decisions – from Iraq to Haiti to Kosovo to Somalia, and regardless of the president's party."

Americans want Congress to invoke the War Powers Act. 'A majority of Americans'? Well, until it becomes 'THE majority of Americans', this whole announcement is a non-issue. It's just another attempt to limit THIS President's powers with more media-coersioned questioning of a few! According to this same media outlet, CNN and others were out polling 'A' majority of Americans who were kicking and screaming that he should've gone to Libya even sooner; without UNs approval! It took too long. 'LIBYANS ARE DYING'!

Liz, even this president is not above the law. Last week Barry killed 12 children in Afghanistan then played golf. This guy is out of control, should be impeached for war crimes.

Was BUSH out of control when he put us into two unfunded wars, one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan? The one in Iraq built under a 'lie', WMDs, and the other one in Afghanistan supposedly, from many people's understanding, was based on the 'alleged' claim of running down OBL and capturing Al Quaeda strongholds. Who's been out of control? Who seems so far to be above the law? At least OBAMA's militaristic executions were and have been due to the world's requests for humanitarian defense, need, and 'CHANGE'!

The way I see it, if Bush/Cheney weren't impeached, to whom and when will we ever be able to use that word again?!?
