Obama's Miami ATM

,

MIAMI  (CNN) –President Obama will tap into big money donors and small contributors when he headlines three DNC fundraisers in Miami, Florida Monday night.

He's expected to haul in an estimated $2.3-million based on CNN's tally of numbers provided by  a democratic official.

It breaks down like this:

The president will attend a $35,800 per person dinner at the home of J.P. and Maggie Austin, then a $10,000 per person reception at the home of Steven Green and his wife. Green is the former Ambassador to Singapore and former CEO of  Samsonite.

Other Democrats who won't be shelling out big bucks for intimate face time with the president will still get a chance to support his 2012 re-election efforts in a much larger setting.

About 900 people starting at $44 a pop are expected at the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts.

It's widely expected that the Obama campaign will raise $1 billion between now and election day.

Good to see Obama out doing what he does best; dining with the evil rich and asking them for donations for his re-election. This way Biden can stay in Washington and get some real work done on jobs and the budget.

Interesting take on this. Politico also has an article about this fundraiser. The headline on that one is "Obama Fundraiser Underwhelms"

$35,800 / $10,000 per person dinner, is this a way of getting around the Federal Election contribution limits?

Nothing wrong with Broadway...the Rethugs are bought by Wall Street.

Broadway? The article says three DNC fundraisers in Miami, Florida. Is that your way of spinning the story? The bottom line is Barry and his fat cat rich special interest are having a closed meeting. I grantee they want more than a side of fries with their order. Barry's making some back room deals.

No spin, Jay. Jean told the truth. I'll repeat it just as she said it: the Rethugs are bought by WALL STREET! Talk about following the money; and @Daveil, dining with the evil rich! That 'modus operandi's particularly sovereign to the GRAND OLD PARTY! Always has been. However, every incombent president has attended fund-raisers in the past, but it's a GREAT BIG PROBLEM when this one does! Why is that? As if I don't know! Oh, sorry, I'm a 'racist'. You all keep telling me it's not about his race! Rrright?!?

blaming republicans does not change the fact that Obama is preferring the rich over the middle class and poor. Accept it and be embarrassed./ angry/ashamed by it

How do you percieve that notion ANON? Who is it that had rather take food, jobs, housing and healthcare from the elderly, the poor and the middleclass in order to continue subsidizing wealthy oil barrons and their companies and to keep giving the wealthy income tax cuts?

Liz that is a tired old argument that has never had any warrant to it at all. Taking health care away from the elderly and the poor. The, so called poor can get on medical cards and get better treatment that I can and so can the elderly. It has been that way for years and way before Obamcare. If I could get the same healthcare our elitist politicians get I would be all for it. But your argument is worn out. That is like the argument that Republicans want us to breath dirty air and drink dirty water. Really! And what air are they going to breath. It is the same thing the Democrats spew every election because they have nothing else to spew. And I have yet to see any of them come to fruition.

Is Obama going to donate his $1 billion donations to the poor. No way!!!!!!!!!!! He is looking out for himself and just to be re-elected. This man is a hypocrite and he does not deserve to be president. Obama had 2 years with a majority in Congress and Senate and he did absolutely nothing so do not blame the republicans for his inadequacy. The man has no idea what he is doing and is incapable of leading this great nation of ours. He needs to go and that will happen in 2012!!!!!!!!!

Embarrassed, angry and ashamed by it yet? I believe intelligent, thinking GOP political watchers are; as they should be. Some may not always put a voice to it, but people know that this administrations efforts are being stunted by the stonewalling of the GOP! To Obama: 'We won't approve this, if you don't give us that'! 'No healthcare bill with 'public option'! 'No unemployment benefits unless we get our BUSH tax cuts, etc., and so on! It's a tit for tat and a Mexican Standoff on everything he tries to do.

Obama is telling us to watch how we spend our money and there he goes and wastefully wants to spend $1 billion in political donations towards his re-election. I find this totally hypocritical because people are hurting for money and he wants to waste this kind of money on a campaign. This money could feed thousands of people so why he does not do the right thing and donate the money to working class or unemployed people. This man is a fraud and he does not deserve to be re-elected. 2012...Obama has to go!!!!! Let's get someone who can do a good job rather than be just a bag of foul air.

Hypocritcal? Maggie, do you know one President who took his campaign donations and gave them to the poor? Every one that I've ever known, always used their donations for their re-election campaigns! This 'recession' was not a first! The poor have been with us in this country since this nation was established. Presidents have run for re-elections for years; used the funds they solicited for their campaigns! Why is this president expected to do any differently. Were the other 'two termer' presidents frauds?!?

Why does a sitting president need to raise money? They have free TV time, can travel the world and talk about their agenda. Greed that is the only reason, pure greed. He charged $38,500 a plate to meet and eat. I am sure those people were only doing that out of the goodness of their hearts. Rich greedy people, thats the Barry way.
