Obama visits Walter Reed

President Obama visited Walter Reed Army Medical Center Friday, during which he met with 21 wounded service members, according to the White House.

The president also awarded two purple hearts in the course of his visit, which was closed to reporters and cameras.

The White House did not release the names of any of the soldiers Obama visited but said 16 served in Afghanistan while 5 served in Iraq.

This is the third visit Obama has made to the army facility as president.

Why don't you stop by the cemetery and visit the 1500 soldiers that you killed in Afghanistan during the past 2 years. And while you are at it why not visit the families of the dead children in Libya.

Barry has killed more people in Libya than Gaddafi. He is a warmonger, he does not understand diplomacy, we had a Texas cowboy president now we have a Chicago gangsta president. Drive by shootings and tomahawks are all he understands.

Liberals don't give me that crap about President Bush. Your President, The Messiah of the Liberal World, continues to kill people. He is not 'cleaning up Bush's mess' he is kill people! In his Nobel Peace Prize, (oh the irony of that), he called Afghanistan a 'just war.' Where are the war protesters shouting to end the wars? Why are Liberals such hypocrites.

A total of 1623 US casualties in Afghanistan since 2001.
Since 2009, there have been 993 US casualties in Afghanistan.
The total number of coalition military fatalities since 2001 is 2529.

Until you decide to start using actual FACTS when posting your rants (you claimed "1500 soldiers that you killed in Afghanistan during the past 2 years" in regard to President Obama), why don't you just STFU?

YOU CAN'T ARGUE WITH IGNORANT REPUBLICAN RACISTS – JUST IGNORE THEM. IT'S LIKE EXPECTING MICHELE BACHMANN TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT AMERICAN HISTORY OR OUR CONSTITUTION – IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. SHE CARES NOTHING ABOUT FACTS NOR IS EMBARRASSED BY HER STUPIDITY.

If you want to see rants go over to the Palin article. There you will see the Zoo rants of caged animals that don't have sense to take out the pot in the morning. I am so tired of anythime Obama wants to campaign he starts showing up at military facilities like he is pro military. Everyone knows how he stands on that. HE WANTS TO DISARM AMERICA AND DOWNGRADE THE MILITARY WHERE WE CAN'T DEFEND ANYTHING. IF HE WAS INTERESTED IN SECURITY OF THE U.S. HE WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BORDER. THANKS GOD WE DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH HIM AND THE PORCH MONKEES BUT A FEW MORE MONTHS. SURLEY WE CAN KEEP HIM FROM DOING ANYMORE DAMAGE UNTIL WE GET THE PIG LOVER OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE. BY THE WAY HAVE YOU SEEN THE FIRST LADY LATELY AND HER FANTASTIC ATTIRE. BOY YOU TALK ABOUT COLORS THAT DON'T MATCH AND A FAT REAR END. WONDER WHY SHE DON'T EAT HER MENU PROPOSED FOR THE SCHOOL SYSTEM

        Go to iCasualties org

        Iraq war totals 2001-2008 – 4,221
        Afghanistan war totals 2001-2008 -1260

        Iraq war totals 2009-2011 – 242
        Afghanistan totals 2009-2011 – 993

Need I say more Jay, other than both of these conflicts started before this administration and one of them shouldn't have been started at all. How about those WMD?

Good for BO for doing this.

Bad for the stupid Dems who like to call people racists and other names. They don't even realize how blind they are and the fact that they are haters and let the hate lead their views. It was ok for them to call Bush all kinds of names (and they still do almost 3 years later). But in their mind nobody can question anything BO does. BTW, if you are going to slam me for my comments please include ONE thing you think BO was wrong about.

jean2009, I do not understand your point. Are you actually saying that 993 in Afganistan is acceptable? I am the one that gave the link to icasulties.com go look again, and you will see that the total for Coalition forces is 1480. This all reminds me of an All in the family episode where Gloria was complaining about people killed with guns. Archy said 'would it make you feel any better if they were pushed out of windows?'

Jean dead is dead, nothing to brag about. Barry has expanded and extended the war in Afghanistan. He is the one that continues to kill our troops. It is his responsibility.

        June 20, 2011 at 7:49 am |
      • jean2009

Jay, Unless you have missed, or wish to completely ignore, this bit of news, President Obama does not commit all coalition forces, he committed the 993 American forces. If you have a problem with the remaining 487 of the 1480 then I would suggest taking that up with the heads of the countries which committed them.

As for the 993 which are American, I assure you everyone would rather not have any American forces dead in any war ...at any time, and that I'm sure would include the President. Maybe someone should have thought before troops were initially sent to war. Removing troops from war is not as easy as it sounds, it means safely removing men and equipment in an orderly fashion which can involve continuing to make the area safe enough for that to happen.

Although the Vietnam War ended in March 1973, it took two more years until April 1975 for Saigon to fall, and from 1973 to 1998 another 1178 were recorded as having died in that war, even though most of them did not die from 1973 to 1975.

May I ask, where you complaining when Afghanistan and Iraq originally happened?

        June 20, 2011 at 5:32 pm |
      • Jay in NC

@ jean2009, I have complained about both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars from day one. Do a google search on this blog and you will see. I Do not care if the president if Republican or Democrat, I do not agree with the wars.

My complaint is that Barry expanded and extended the war. More troops have died under Barry than President Bush. It is his war, he asked for the job, said he would do a better job. He did not inherit this he asked for it. Again, in his Nobel speech he said it was a just war. He is the one that made the decision to continue. He is the one that is now responsible. If you did not agree with President Bush then you also have to disagree with Barry.

I have always taken this stand. It is the Liberals out here that are hypocrites. Not me.

        June 20, 2011 at 9:04 pm |
      • jean2009

No Jay... you do not get the dodge of repeating the lie that more troops have died under Obama. The numbers do not compute of troops actually committed by each.

        Bush=5481 (Iraq & Afghanistan)
        Obama=1236 (Iraq & Afghanistan)

However, I will bet this president will bring home more troops than Bush.

Why don't you hush, Jay? If he tried to go visit all of the graves and the families of the lost soldiers and marines, you'd be squealing about him flying all over the United States in Airforce One, trying to get to all of them; how much it would be costing the US taxpayers! Yes! He did say Aghanistan was a 'just war'; reason being, that was where the US focus should've been and stayed since it was 'alleged' we were looking for OBL! He actually gave your 'President' Bush a pass on that one by announcing it!

Your such an idiot. It's not expected of Obama but to visit the tomb of the Unknown soldier. He has this year one time. The rest of the time he was on vacation or off playing golf somewhere. He does not give a darn about the Military, it's customs are the U.S. If he did he'd salute the flag (Instead of grabbing his crotch) salute the National Antheum and salute the Soldiers who guard AF One when he boards and off Boards. Read his books so you can see what he likes and doesn't like. It's in his own words. See that his main preference of religion is Muslim. He wishes to disarm America and donwnsize the military. He has already donwsized it's budget twice and has a plan to decrease the soldiers pay. I wish you antil military people would just take a flying leap. No one asked your sons, kinfolks are anyone connected to you to be in the military. So if they think they should stay in Afghanistan or Iraq that is the ones who desire to be there. I was a career soldier with 30 years of service and both my sons are career soldiers. Take a look at Arlington Cemetary how it is nelected since Obama came into office the next time they show it. Better still go see it. It is overgrown. Tombstone markers leaning and in general a mess. This is enough to hang the scoundrel in the White House. Kiss his butt goodbye for he will not be reelected.

Furthermore, I'm Liberal; I'll continue to give you that crap about 'President' Bush you don't like to hear, nor really want to acknowledge, everytime I see you going off half-cocked at 'Barry', acting like you forgot. Yes! He IS cleaning up Bushs' mess! Bush put us into both, Afghanistan and Iraq. When OBAMA walked into office, those two 'messes' fell into his lap! Most Generals, including Powell have voiced to OBAMA and to us the importance of 'draw down' responsibility. OBAMA listens to them not YOU!

You Liz Carter are one more dumb animal. Who do you think has been in charge of the Congress for the last seven years. Who do you think sets budgets., establishs employment and funds the Military. Your wrong on both ACCOUNTS ON THE WARS IN AFGHanistan and Iraq. First place WMD were in iraq because Clinton gave them to them to GUARD THEIR BORDERS AGAINST iRAN. BUT HUSSAIN WITHIN TWO MONTHS WIPED OUT OVER THREE THOUSANDK, IN THREE VILLAGES JUST TO SEE HOW THEY WORKED. LOOK IT UP IT'S IN THE HISTORY BOOKS AND CAN BE FOUND ON THE INTERNET. AFGHANISTAN WAS A HOT BED FOR AL QUAIDO WITH THE TALIBAN PROTECTING THEM KILLING ANYONE WHO OPPOSED THEIR RULE. YES BY ALL MEANS ANY PRESIDENT WORTH A DAMN WHOULD HAVE US THERE AND WE WOULD STAY TO ENSURE TRANSITION OF GOVERNMENT WAS COMPLETE. IF NOT THEN IT WILL BE A THING TO DO ALL OVER AGAIN. THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU PUT LOW MENTALITY PEOPLE IN POSITIONS OF POWER. THEY HAVE NO IDEAL WHAT THE BIG PICTURE REALLY IS. IF YOUR A BIBLE SCHOLAR THEN READ YOUR BIBLE IT PLAINLY TELLS YOU IN THE bOOK OF REVELATIONS WHAT IS GOING TO TO HAPPEN AND WHILE YOUR AT IT READ MOSES AND THE BOOK OF JOSHUA SO YOU WILL KNOW WHY WE MUST SUPPORT ISRAEL. BUT OF COURSE THIS DOES NOT FIT IN THE ISLAM WORLD AND OBAMA'S. HE WILL CAUSE AMERICA TO COME NEAR TO FALLING BECAUSE OF HIS EMBARRASSING NON-SUPPORT OF ISRAEL. GOD WILL NOT LIKE AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN AMERICA DO NOT LIKE IT. SAY GOODBYE TO OBAMA THE FRAUD, TRAITOR AND LIAR.

Ignorance is bliss and you Liz Carter have plently of bliss. What was Bush to do since 9/11 happened. Set around on his butt like Obama waiting for another attack. Yes Iraq had WMDs because Clinton and the Democrats gave them to them. Look it up. Hussain, immediately in the next month went and wiped out three Kurd Villages with them to see how they worked. (Look that one up) This Iraq business has been the Democrats all the way. Only the Republicans have tried to do something with them. Let's test your IQ. Who destroyed Social Security and is tryingto further destroy it now? They did start it under Roosevelt, but since then they have steadilty been tearing away at it. I have an ideal you rely on Social Security and welfare to make it. Under Obama you will soon kiss that goodbye. The Presidents can only suggest laws he can not just sign piece of paper like Obamacare into law without Congressional approval. He did so that is a breech of the Constitution. An impeachable offense. It's just that we have a Democrat Congress so no one can do aything about it. House vote on Health Care Reform – 219 to 216 a majority
Senate vote on Health Care Reform – 60 to 39 a majority.
The last I checked for any piece of legislation all it takes is a majority.

Basically, the Republicans are upset that President Obama helped pass the Nixon/Kennedy Health Care Legislation, and they didn't get bragging rights, and they didn't get to sell out the parts to the insurance companies, and medical providers that would allow them to discriminate, deny coverage, or provide cost controls.

Contd: it seems to me that when you all remind us that the DEMS were in charge or in the majority in congress under BUSH and they sat there an let BUSH and his posse just run us into the dirt like they did, I look at it like this; as far as those wars, I say DEMS did try to go along with their 'leader' and the rest of the REPUBS on what he thought needed to be done at that time, even though they came to find out later on along with most of us that at least one of them was unsubstantiated! Neither funded!

Contd: what I'm saying is it that even when it looked 'questionable', some of the decisions this 'decider' made the DEMS seemed to have had enough patriotism and Americanism to take the leap with him! Either that or they were railroaded by the REPUBS! Just plain scared to seem like they weren't getting along with 'status quo'. Whatever the reasons were, we let it go and hoped for the best. Its strange OBAMA can't seem to get the same support and respect from the REBUBS, and a few scary 'conservative' DEMS!

They all often said we would have to stay there to ensure transfer of power and to make sure that their new governments were set up. Bush did not cut back on his golfing because of the 2 wars he 'SET OFF'! Where'd you get that idea? He even hung out MORE in Crawford, Texas riding around in his truck on the ranch, with 'Barney' in tow! If my memory serves me right, he even made a commercial out there! When he wasn't there, he was 'laid back' up in Camp David! President Obama has visited a golf course only sixty times since his presidency! There are 52 weeks in a year. Some golfers go out at least once a week to practice or play. The man has been in Whitehouse two and a half years. Minimally, you can count 104 weeks! So what? 60 times out of a hundred and four weeks? My goodness!
