Your commander in chief has your back

(CNN) – President Barack Obama said Thursday that theU.S. military withdrawal fromAfghanistan will not be done "precipitously."

It will be done in a steady way to ensure recent gains "will be sustained," he said.

"Areas likeKandahar are more secure than they've been in years," Obama said during a visit toFort Drum,New York.

TheU.S.military and its allies are "taking the fight" to the Taliban, he said. As a result, there are signs the Taliban are more interested in a political settlement.

As for al Qaeda, we have "decimated their ranks," he said. But "our job is not finished."

"Your commander in chief has your back," he said.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

You should be ashamed of yourself for furthering such blatant lies. First, no politician would ever be caught saying that. Second, the choice of words belies an uneducated idiot – something our president is most certainly not. You sir are a troll. It is people like you that make me lose faith in the democratic system because it allows idiots to maintain false positions and biased beliefs which have the potential to spillover at a national/global level.

You're a loser and a liar. While I don't agree with all he has done, Obama simply never said such a thing. Coward.

Howard, are you stuck on stupid? When are you going to stop posting that lie? It has been debunked by two or three posters a week or two ago!Or is it that you think if you just keep posting anyway, some sick fool will believe it?

You out the part of the speech where he "misspoke" about the Congressional Medal of Honor winner. If Bush had done this you would have been all over him as an idiot whereas Obama just misspoke. With out his teleprompter he can't get anything straight.
