Morning Briefing: Obama heads to Boehner's territory

The 1600 Blog's daily roundup of what the White House is reading this morning online and in the papers:

You can bet Obama’s top aides in the White House and in Chicago’s campaign headquarters were watching last night’s CNN Republican/Tea Party debate closely as Texas Gov. Rick Perry appears to be surging ahead of a field that has remained in flux for months.  The raucous event no doubt gave aides fresh insight into the type of hard-nosed campaigner Perry might be should he win the nomination. And it's likely the Obama camp's TiVo was in full operation, storing clips that might come in handy for future campaign commercials.

Other headlines catching the White House’s eye this morning:

Go get them Mr Pres. The GOP/TP debate last night produced NO new answers to creating JOBS. Let the teapublicans shoot themselves in the foot again if they vote against your new JOBS bill. Americans will never forget the debt ceiling dabacle when the teapublicans said ' LET AMERICA DEFAULT ON ITS DEBTS"

A question for Chrisg510: Just what is a "dabacle"? Chrisg510 must be filling in for Jay Carney while Carney visits his optometrist for new glasses. Chrisg510? Whatta' load of repetitive rah-rah tripe! "Go get them Mr Pres" says Chrisg510 – "Take the OUT!" says Jimmy Hoffa Jr. There's no "Obama lovefest" waiting for the POTUS in Ohio and if we see a "lovefest", it will be staged by the DNC. Why do cheerleaders like Chrisg510 always (improperly) use UPPERCASE letters when they type simple words like "jobs". Do they actually thing putting some king of emphasis on that word will somehow make it more compelling? I've been driving coast-to-coast since early 2010 and I've seen those pristine orange "Putting America To Work" signs by the roadside – the one thing that is ALWAYS missing is ... ANYONE working! Jobs? Where? An open challenge to Chrisg510: President Obama hired GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt as on of his top economic advisors; his title? He heads up the "Council on Jobs and Competitiveness" yet he just moved GE's Med-Tech and Aviation divisions to ... CHINA! We're paying Immelt (who ran GE into the ground) to create jobs in the USA, meanwhile Immelt is exporting jobs to China. Let us hear how you defend THAT "jobs strategy" Chrisg510. Chrisg510 and the POTUS think Ohio is waiting with open arms? Sorry folks, Ohio "woke up"; they are no longer Demo-Lemmings. Yeah, (quoting Chrisg510): "Go get them Mr Pres" (then fly back to your temporary residence with your tail between your legs). If Americans would like "shovel ready jobs" simply grab a shovel, dig a hole to China, and you'll have your Obama job (wages: 3 bowls of rice per day). The POTUS spoke at Solyndra's production facility and touted all the "sustainable energy jobs" Solyndra would produce. The Federally backed, now bankrupt Solyndra which contributed $137,000.00 to Obama's '08 campaign is now under investigation by the FBI. GM never paid back their full bailout debt and neither did Chrysler. Both companies produce numerous vehicles in Canda and Mexico. It has already been stated that Fiat wil not have to pay back the remainder of Chrysler's debt, even though Fiat is buying Chrysler (from Obama). Attn: Chrisg510: Your cap/lock button is stuck down – must be a gummy-bear wedged in there. Okay Chris, time to go iron the pleats in your Obamunist moonie cheerleader skirt. LEMMING!

For the etiquette challenged: It is bad manners to comment on another person's spelling and grammar. Putting another person down by correcting them may inflate your ego, it is self-centered and rude. However, in line six of your rant did you not mean "think" instead of thing?

Chris is right. Perry has no jobs plan and minimum wage jobs are not the solution. As Rangel said his jobs are one step away from slavery...ouch! http://blogs.reuters.com/felix-salmon/2011/08/15/perrys-employment-record-in-texas/ Basically, Perry's plan is the fiasco Chris alluded to.

As a native Ohioan, I can speak about Ohio. John Kasich is not the answer, the teapotty is not the answer.
Watch and learn. Ohio will repeal SB 5 which Kasich wants to deal with unions about. He knows the numbers are there to defeat his union busting bill. No deal!

Ohio received $8.2 billion in stimulus money which not only retained jobs but created jobs. Frankly, money spent here at home on Americans and not lining the pockets of war profiteers is a blessing. Just think it did not buy single payer health care for Iraq. It actually went into the pockets of Americans.

Chrysler did repay its loan see: http://blogs.ajc.com/jay-bookman-blog/2011/05/25/a-revived-chrysler-pays-off-last-govt-loan/ . So where is your information for otherwise?

Regardless of Solyndra's bankruptcy we must still push ahead with funding for self-sustaining energy funding. We definitely must not be left behind in this race. It seems funding for the venture came from both sides of the political spectrum. As Walmart also had a big investment in Solyndra.

You best get over your moronic rants since our future relies on our getting achieving sustainable energy without relying on the greedy oil companies ...who obviously do not have their sights on what is the best interest of America.

I am sick of people, like you, who profess to be Americans while wishing us ill.

If you don't know what a debacle is maybe you should look up George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Yeah ... Obama ... continue to feverishly HARD sell your failing policies to Americans, instead of spending your time fulfilling your duties as president, from the last time your were elected. Your strategy of pandering to the free loaders, and malcontents could possibly work. After all, appealing to the lowest common denominator provides you with a huge audience ... even if the results of your self-serving efforts will be to transforming America into mediocrity .

Barry's plan to save the planet is to cut Social Security funding in half. From 6.2% to 3.1%. Some workers, and corporations will be exempt from contributing to the fund. Are recipients willing to accept half of the money?

Remember Liberals taught us that tax cuts = cost and that raiding the Social Security fund was evil. The question is will they hold this president to the same standards as other presidents?

Obama just another disaster waiting to prey on the simple minded Liberals who want all for nothing

  4. Liz Carter in Georgia

What do you mean we want all for nothing? Why do you keep repeating that lie over and over again? Are you saying that only conservatives own business and payrolls, only 'cons' are trying to hold on to their lives, only 'cons' had homes and cars that were repossessed and forclosed on? Only 'cons' lost money in pensions, stocks and 401Ks, etc.? Only 'cons' are working and paying taxes, buying groceries, gasoline, rent, insurances and utilities? If so..you're a simpleminded liar! Nobody's giving me a dime!
