It wasn't quite a beer summit, but President Obama did share some brew time with Dakota Meyer Wednesday afternoon, the day before Meyer is to be awarded the Medal of Honor:
From the CNN Political Ticker:
Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama enjoyed a beer with Dakota Meyer on the patio outside the Oval Office Wednesday. The president will present Meyer with the Medal of Honor Thursday during a ceremony at the White House.
According to a series of tweets by White House spokesman Jay Carney, when a member of the president's staff called Meyer over the weekend to prepare, Meyer made a special request.

ONCE AGAIN ... OBAMA USES PHOTO OPS WITH ADMIRABLE PEOPLE, HOPING IT WILL GIVE HIM THE APPEARANCE OF BEING ADMIRABLE. He's found that it's a lot easier than actually doing something worthy of admiration. It's time to get this loser out of our White House !!!
@ Howard
Please, He is not as bad as Bush. He was dealt ont of the worst hands when he started as President.
Yes, how dare he stop and chat with a Marine who did something extraordinary in the service of his country. He should be busy trying to come up with a way to sell his jobs plan to a bunch of idiotic Teahadis and their leadership whose only vocabulary appears to be 'no.'
Get over yourself.

OK, but what exactly were they drinking? Was it a beer from a foreign-owned brewery (Bud/Miller/Coors) or was it a real American beer, like Victory Prima Pils?
I love President Obama!!! What a blessing it is to have OBAMA in the HOUSE.
Color me skeptical, I wonder if he'd done this if his poll #'s weren't so low (I would hope he would). But I do appreciate the fact he honored this American Hero's request.
Usually i prefer to be one of the ones being reported to the Attack Watch website. However, in this case, the commander-in-chief will receive only positive words from me. As a former Marine, thank you, Mr. President, for honoring this fellow Devil Dog and hero. Just for one moment, I pause to salute you both.
I would like to buy Meyer a beer or 20.
Thankyou for your service Josh, and thankyou for your post. Sincerely, from the wife of a Parris Island, Leatherneck 'Devil Dog', US MARINE VETERAN. (VIETNAM) SEMPER FIDELIS!
