Flint and Detroit on Forbes list of 20 most miserable cities.

    Detroit Democrat controlled from 1962.
    Detroit black Mayors from 1974.
Michigan Governor Democrat January 2003 – January 2011

I am sure the president will find a way to blame it on the Republicans.

Detroit is the most segregated racist city in America. I challenge white Liberals to walk the streets, or drive, around Detroit. You will experience true discrimination, hate, abuse, and threats to your property and your life.

The media is all over the white restaurant owner that does not allow kids (that happen to be black) to wear saggy pants, yet ignore black on white hate that dominates the city.

Wasn't that last Detroit Republican mayor (1962) Lois Miriani convicted for federal tax evasion and then spent 10 months in a Federal prison?
With the exception of Kwame Kilpatrick many of Detroit's recent mayors have been outstanding developer's of the city...such as Coleman Young and Dennis Archer. The city has went through a renaissance starting in the 1990's, and Jennifer Granholm has been an outstanding governor.

Unlike Jay, I am happy to see the prospects of Detroit's economy looking up. I really wonder where your head is Jay, that you wish working American's so much ill will?

I can always spot a teapotty person...they squeal like hogs when they think someone else is going to bump them from the trough.

Okay Jean2009 this is what was published in forbes ...

Crime, unemployment and foreclosures are among the many problems bedeviling Detroit. Motown has closed 59 schools the past two years, and a recent study suggested that the city will need to close half of the remaining 142 public schools over the next two years. The moves would lead to high school class sizes of 62 students

        How is this good?

Jean, it is easy to find examples of Detroit's failures. Maybe you should move there and enjoy the renaissance.

Obama's ONLY agenda is fundraising and campaigning. He has already stopped, being the chief executive.
