Presidential Op-ed

President Obama pens an op-ed in today's Financial Times laying out his goals for the G20 meeting taking place next week in France. It all seems to boil down to these four things:

– First, as the world’s largest economy, the US will continue to lead. The single most effective thing we can do to get the global economy growing faster is to get the US economy growing faster. That’s why my highest priority is putting Americans back to work. …

– Second, the crisis in Europe must be resolved as quickly as possible. …

– Third, each nation must do its part to ensure that global growth is balanced and sustainable so we avoid slipping into old imbalances. For some countries, this means confronting their own fiscal challenges. For countries with large surpluses, it means taking additional steps to support growth. …

– Finally, the G20 nations must deepen co-operation on the range of global challenges that affect our shared prosperity. We need to move ahead with our commitment to phase out subsidies for fossil fuels and transition to 21st-century clean-energy economies. As we promote the development that gives nations a path out of poverty, we can focus on the infrastructure, finance and good governance that unleash growth. Even as we work to save lives from the drought and famine in the Horn of Africa, we need to continue investing in the food security and agricultural productivity that make future famines less likely and communities more self-sufficient.

Obama's policies have resulted in Afghanistan siding with Pakistan against America ... creating a Libya that goes sharia (with thousands of missing stinger missles) ... an Iraq which will be taken over by Iran ... and, the rest of the middle east, who we depend on for oil, to line up against us ... while throwing our strongest mid-east ally, Israel, under the bus. In the mean time, Obama has diverted, blocked, or stopped all new oil drilling in the U.S.A., in favor of his impractical, inequitable, ineffective green pixie dust ... leaving America dependent on our adversaries for our energy ... and, all of this, while dramatically increasing our debt, and lowering our credit rating ...now, that's what I call terrible leadership. obama will say, or do anything to get reelected.
obama is a shameless, self-serving con man ...
the main stream media are his shills ...
and, the American people are his marks !!!

SAVE AMERICA ... DUMP obama as soon as possible !!!

Howard, how soon we forget. In January 2001, this country had a several hundred BILLION dollar budget surplus and we were actually paying down our debt. Bush, in a few short years, blew this with tax cuts for the wealthy and two wars, both unfunded. Bush led us into war with Iraq using a pack of lies. A war for which BUSH set the time line for withdrawal. He and his political team used the lives and service of American as political PR props (Can you say Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch?) . Who got Bin Laden and how many American lives were lost, and how much did it cost us? America's leadership role in the world was duly restored at high noon on January 20, 2009! I guess I should not be surprised by your rant as I am confident you are one lacking intellectual curiosity. Oh, and never let facts and truth get in your way!

You got that right! President Obama sure is in 'way over his head' in a cesspool of GOD-awful GOP/Teaparty hate, divisiveness, treason, obstruction, insubordination, disrespect, sabotage, and undermining systematic hopeful failure from 'THEM', and many political illiterates, bashing supremacists, along with dismissiveness from a few minorities, who REALLY believe they've 'overcome' among the American citizenry. He doesn't need firing...he needs more support from real Americans! We are ALL in this together!

Hi Jean and C-Lo; I'm glad to be back...I'm trying to get back up on the stick. My mother and brother are now resting with my father and I know they'd want me to keep paying attention and fighting the good fight, if at all possible and for whatever little measure of good it will do. Thankyou both!
