Obama to GOP in Congress: We cannot play games with unemployment insurance President Obama warned Congressional Republicans Monday that it would hurt all Americans if the payroll tax cut set to expire at the end of this year is not extended. The president made a statement in the White House briefing room saying it would be a terrible "mistake" for Congress to leave for the holidays without extending the payroll tax cut. (read more here)
