Obama to GOP in Congress: We cannot play games with unemployment insurance

President Obama warned Congressional Republicans Monday that it would hurt all Americans if the payroll tax cut set to expire at the end of this year is not extended. The president made a statement in the White House briefing room saying it would be a terrible "mistake" for Congress to leave for the holidays without extending the payroll tax cut.  (read more here)

POTUS' Day Ahead: Talking 'bout college affordability

President Obama spends the day largely behind closed doors Monday. After receiving the daily briefing in the Oval Office at 9:45 a.m. and meeting with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner at 10:15 a.m., Obama will meets with group of University presidents to discuss college affordability. That event, at 11:10 a.m., will not be open to cameras.
