Michelle Obama on Tonight Show

We might get a glimpse into what life is really like in the White House when First Lady Michelle Obama makes an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” later this month.  According to a NBC press release, the first lady is booked to talk about her “Let’s Move” campaign and also her soon to be released book on the White House kitchen garden.

This is Mrs. Obama’s second time on the late night talk show.  She last dished with Leno in 2008 during her husband’s presidential campaign.  It’s seemingly becoming a family tradition.  The president also dropped in on Leno last fall during a swing through California.  Mrs. Obama’s appearance on Tonight is set for January 31st.

American Idol watch out! POTUS sings

It was apparently irresistible.  Taking the stage at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem at a fundraiser Thursday night, President Obama broke into song–at least a couple bars of the 1972 classic hit "Let's Stay Together".

UPDATE: White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer tweets:

I have worked for President Obama for 5 years and until last night, I had no idea that he could sing
