Can the first lady convince Leno to eat his veggies?

Michelle Obama is going Hollywood is a big way to push her Let's Move program designed to solve the problem of childhood obesity within a generation.

The first lady is in California taping The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which is scheduled to air Tuesday night.

She taped an interview last week with celebrity chef Rachael Ray and The Ellen DeGeneres Show is teasing its upcoming interview with Mrs. Obama.

The chatter is leading up to the two year anniversary for Let's Move, the first lady's initiative designed to pave the way for a healthier generation of children by schooling parents in healthy eating habits and pressing schools and corporations to offer healthy eating options.

Mrs. Obama ramped up the rhetoric about her Tonight Show appearance when she tweeted this weekend: "@JayLeno says he never eats vegetables…we'll see about that! #LetsMove to get Jay to eat some veggies on #TheTonightShow on 1/31!"

The tweet was apparently in reference to Leno who was quoted in a magazine article a few years ago saying, "I don’t think I’ve ever had a salad, actually. And I don’t think I’ve had a vegetable since 1969. My mother gave up on trying to make me eat them."

In the 2006 Parade Magazine article titled, "What America Eats: We're Changing The Way We Eat" Leno talked about his preference for meat and potatoes and fast food, "I eat a lot of junk food like pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs."

We can only speculate Mrs. Obama might try to ply the comedian with vegetables from the White House kitchen garden when she talks about her upcoming book on the subject. This is Mrs. Obama’s second time on the late night talk show. She last dished with Leno in 2008 during her husband’s presidential campaign.

It’s seemingly becoming a family tradition. The president dropped in on Leno last fall during a swing in California.

This is a stupid story. Wonder how many vegetables she could pass out if she stopped spending our money on herself and family. She is not a nice woman and I know first hand.

The contributions of the super pacs–are these obligations owed by candidate after election? When you report that Mitt paid 5 mil with super PAC contributions adding up to 13 mil–what do you get for over 8 mill for Florida? Shouldn't that news make us run screaming?

jerry lax, I'm going to venture to stop insulting you but respond to you and yours with Dr. King's quote: Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. He had to be talking about people like you and the GOP/Tea Party faithful....wow, Martin was a true visionary. He saw you guys coming almost a half a century ago. You and others prove his statement every single day in your posts.

I doubt that any proof the WH might have provided would have changed your mind. That's because hatred causes blindness to the truth.

I still love you Mrs Obama, even if you don't get Jay to eat any veggies. You still are a wonderful First Lady. And look forward till 4 more years of having you as the First Lady. Oh, and by the way, this lingerie business is nothing but right wing crap. Jay Carny said it was a lie.

I guess with nothing and no one interested in your idiocy...the only thing to do is spread an obvious tabloid rumor to make yourself relevant in your very small mind....wait wait, I'm trying to insult you and the rest of the Clown lemmings that follow the GOP...Here's the MLK quote again: "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than
        sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity"

I think what that truly says if you sincerely believe some story that has no proof what so ever (Faux non-news reports for instance), you are ignorant, but its dangerous because you don't have any commons sense but to believe it. Moreover, to consciously believe a story without any proof is plain ole stupid.

That certainly sums you up, and Dr. King said that almost a half century ago. Amazing how he measured up you and your kind so long ago...Huh?

Who the hell wrote this? The first sentence is incoherent, the second has incorrect comma usage, and the third is a run on. There's plenty of other problems with the writing. Will your editors please stand up, CNN?

She's all over Obama for this, yet convieniently neglects to mention that the funding she won't take is for education, including .special needs kids Guess she figures since Trap or Trig has a wealthy family to help him, the rest of the kids in Alaska who might benefit from that funding are just shit out of luck.Memo to Sarah-piss off!Sincerely, the entire reality-based world
