Some Auto manufacturer, college, university or auto shop should figure out just how much pure hydrogen gas is needed, or mix of hydrogen and oxygen, to double the gas mpg of the average car, or truck, using a hydrogen on demand generator...either DC with the hydrogen(negative post), and oxygen, (positive post), are already separated..or an AC where the two are mixed...Once you know a volume of gas per liter of engine size and charted on RPM and vehicle speeds...
You could set the hydrogen generator in a shop outside the vehicle an use a dynamo to test run the vehicle or an engine in a stand in a normal engine testing station..outside the vehicle...
you could install a separate electric alternator, or DC generator in a vehicle and the water tanks and hydrogen generators and backfire protection systems to really increase the mpg of gasoline needed for our cars....Trucks would be easier to convert..using some of the cargo box area or the many spaces under the trucks...If we needed less gasoline or diesel then we would be much better off...
Remember how Enron ordered electric power plants to shut down just to create shortages and drive up the price of electricity...and just how many oil speculators are buying up oil they can not even use..just to bring up the price..get the speculators out of the oil markets...
WE need a permanent solution for our oil and energy needs, not keep patching up a dead end system we know will run out and lead to wars..In the two years it would take to build this cash cow of tax free export only for the big Texas oil men..we could build a new system for oil from Algae..
High gas prices...just one more reason to build up our other energy sources..and move to cellulose from switch grass in a non-patented two step process...first grow the little bug that is inside a termite that actually eats the woody material and turns it into sugar for the termite and then process the stuff...I know all those companies trying to get a patent for a new bio-engineered bug they can patent would be mad but we need to get start now...so figure something out quick... switch grass would be better than corn for ethanol...uses little or no chemicals...little water and grows in poor soil..leave the good farmland for food crops...
And protect our ground water..Iowa is already a mess from nitrates from fertilizers and the problem is getting worse..
build wind and solar farms...use electricity for making pure hydrogen...mix with our dirty CO2 exhaust from our Coal and Natural gas power plants and make methane gas..safer to pipe around ...and What we call natural gas is 90% methane....
Grown algae – green oil...Continental Air Lines first flight tested Jet fuel from algae in 2009...first passenger flight was Nov 11th 2010....We can grown algae in clear glass tubes or metal tanks with built in grow light..flood lights..more expensive with the metal tanks though...anyway.algae feeds off CO2..so we can run that sameCO2 rich power plant exhaust through bubbles in these tanks and clean out the CO2 and other stuff and make oil...We could use our vast deserts for shallow reservoirs for growing Algae and harvest them like cranberries every 6 weeks..leaving some algae behind to regrow...just put in a air bubble system to supply air with it's natural CO2...
We can use flywheels to store or convert electricity on our power grids..factories...save that electricity from sunny or windy days for other times...Or even run air compressors and use water tanks with airbags to power water turbines when we need electricity on demand...run the pressures air into the tanks air bags..pressurize the water at ground level ...run through the water turbines..to aunpressurized receiver water tank...then release the air bag pressure and let gravity refill the original water tank.with a different pipe...you could use several large tanks to run for longer times...It's a way to store that wind and solar energy for later use...You could just use two pistons in two cylnders connected by a steel shaft in one small cylinder you put air..in the other larger cylinder is the water..by forcing in the air in the small cylinder you pressurize the big water cylinder... Of course you could use and oil..instead of water to drive the turbines...but in the event of a leak in the system, a water leak is cleaner, safer..
We can use the strong ocean currents off Florida for underwater sea current electric or water closed system pressure pumps to generate electricity, run the water lines down to the generators and place the water turbines and electric generators up on land...those currents run all the time...
Posting to this story 2 months after my original posts..so I'm probably crazy to think anybody will ever read this...anyway here goes...
I have wondered why we have small engines that can drive a electric generator...and that electricity either AC or DC can drive a electric motor to drive the vehicles wheels, you can use an override after the electric motor for highway speeds, because electric motors are high torque motors...and thereby reduce the amps needed....the load required on the whole system...
So I have to wonder, why not run the high amp AC or DC current between the electric generator to the electric motor through a hydrogen generator..when using the DC current method,..making either pure hydrogen,(negative post) and pure oxygen, (positive post), or with AC current method a mix of the two...then run that into the gas or diesel engine the powers the whole system...Yes I know you have to deal with the computer reading the engine oxygen sensor...
Sorry if you have trouble reading my style of writting...It matches my crazy brain and thought flow..which is running all the time and ususally branches off into many different directions with each sentence.....I just have to follow the flow of thoughts the best I can...anyway I just wanted to add this to the rest...there is much more I could say, there always is...
I'm doing it again..but to show anybody that actually might read this..just how my brian works these days..
There is a danger to making a super effecient vehicle...and I hate to point it out, but I going to anyway...The US dollar's value is tied to the price of oil on the world market...if we suddenly make a super effecient vehicle ...and the demand for oil dropped..what would happen to the US dollars value?...what would happen to all the countries that reley on the export of their oil...could we handle that..even help the oil producing countries if we had to..we will still need oil..but we also need a cheap transportation system..that would be far better for the world right?...This country is big we ship so much by rail and semi trucks and we use our cars so much..And China and India are growing, buying cars..so a super effecient vehicle would be a good thing for everyone right?
Well just in case anybody is reading I find myself posting again, and I am reminded why I drove some engineers a little crazy...My post here is a good example...I liked to throw out questions to a group of engineers that knew more about the subject than me, That meant I said dumb things some times..and they would roll their eyes and pretend not to know me..as someone else explained to me how wrong I was...
So It turns out salt water is really better to do electrolysis with then pure water, in fact pure water is highly resistant to an electrical current...maxed at 18.2 M ohms per centi meter at 25 degrees C.... In Industrial electrolysis a 20-40% sodium hydroxide, or potassium hydroxide aqueous solution is used....and low voltages 1.8-2.2 volts and current density is low maybe 400 mA/cm squared....extra voltage and current is just turned into heat..wasted energy...but it still leaves my question above intact, even makes me ask..Why can't every user of electricty be running some of that current through a salt water solution mix and generating a hydrogen/oxygen mixed gas..to say heat they home in the winter??...Anyway you can see why I drove some engineers crazy....

No fear my friend! I have read your posts! Understanding them is a different matter! I know several engineers and they are a different breed of animal! Sounds like you are an engineer! Needless to say, they think on different level! Yet their cubicals and offices are a resounding mess! Not sure how they find anything, but they do!
