White House "monitoring the situation closely." After reports that an American service member allegedly shot more than a dozen Afghan civilians in Kandahar province, Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, said, “We are deeply concerned by the initial reports of this incident, and are monitoring the situation closely." Administration officials confirmed that President Obama had been briefed on the situation. |

This is bad news, no other way to describe it.
This incident surely will put another nail in our coffin there with the population and the leadership. It's time we seriously called it "mission accomplished" and that "we've done all we can do", and so on...just smarten up and begin the pullout with a minimum of fanfare and details. That's a hopeless situation much like the others we bungled and wasted $ and lives/limbs on! These folks simply don't want us in their business and we need to get that message and get out of that place...period.
These events are yet another example why we need to get out of Afghanistan ASAP.
These same kind of inevitable instances always happen in these protracted Wars. Similar things happened in Viet Nam that generated hatred for the US and destroyed the original mission.

@B...that maybe true, we certainly can't control the idiots here nor there!! It is a very bad thing to dishonor anybodys' HOLY BOOK! But if you ask me...America dishonors its' Holy Bible on a daily basis! We throw it out on its' face anytime we get ready to justify our selfish decisions!! We have just about thrown it out of the courts, already thrown it out of our schools, and most homes!! They are just a smidgeon away from being burned anyway. Americans have BEEN put them on the highest shelf, in the back, in the corner, in the dark!! Never to even be mentioned unless it's being used to play on some true God-fearing Americans spirituality and their consciousness of their relationship with God. Hypocrites!!

OK – he's 'winding down the war' how? He brings a few home then sends another "surge" of 40,000 to take their place?
The fact is he PROMISED to bring ALL the troops home in one year. THAT was part of his electoral manifesto. He brought the troops home from Iraq THREE years late – right at the beginning of the election campaign?????? AND at Christmas for maximum effect!

The longer young people are left in deadly situations with IEDs, snipers and bombs from so-called Afghan friends AND seeing their own friends suffer and die 24/7- the more likely they are to snap. After 10 years we're seeing peeing on dead enemies, burning Korans and shooting sprees – which proves my point. And the LONGER Obama leaves them there the MORE of this we'll see.
This young man is just as wounded metally as if he'd stepped on an IED physically. We just can't SEE the effects.
But Obama is CERTAINLY not 'on top of it' – HE is responsible.

Some even claimed it was a Bush accomplishment because he made the contract up on IRAQ...entrance and exit dates!!! So what are you talking about. If I remember correctly...Obama had to adjust the dates a little bit due to what the generals on the ground said needed to be done...but all in all it was still on and about the same time that was contracturally depicted!! 'Part of his electoral manisfesto'...AND? Obama has come as close to accomplishing his 'electoral manifesto' as any other former President has before him! With NO HELP from his constituents! If anything they have blocked and delayed him on most everything he's tried to do!! From day one, that has been the GOP goal...make him a 'one term President'!! The way to do it is to block, stop, delay, just say no, and anything else that could possibly shadow any good thing he's done with negativity or inefficiency, thereby he would be percieved by the stupid to be a 'bad' President; and needs to go!! That in itself, along with the biggotry of racism can certainly put him in a bad position..but I trust we still have some REAL INTELLIGENT AMERICAN PATRIOTS left who do believe in what he's done and is endeavoring to do!! They also realize the compromizing position he has been put in and are not in denial as to the bottomline of WHY!! Oh, he'll go back in alright! Who does he have to run against?? If you condone what takes place by your illegal commander n chief.. then you deserve everything that comes your way. Bush could not be impeached because he didn't break any laws. He asked congress to declare war on terror, not on any particular country or group. Don;t forget FDR had congress declare war on Japan and then sent the majority of the troops to Europe, he should have been impeached as well.
