Obama campaign: Romney, McDonnell and women voters

(CNN) - The Obama campaign renewed its focus on women voters Thursday with a stepped up attack on Mitt Romney.

A data-filled memo alleges the budget cuts, tax reform and social policy Mitt Romney supports will disproportionately hurt middle- and low-income women.

Along with the memo, the campaign links to a web tool called "The Life of Julia," which follows the character from the age 3 to 67, suggesting how one such woman would be impacted by the policies of the two Presidential candidates.

For example, under President Obama, Julia at age 23 can fight for a right to equal pay, because he signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, according to the web tool. But Julia doesn't know her fate under a President Romney because he hasn't said whether he would have signed the Lily Ledbetter Act. (read more at CNN Politics)

Another bias article from the Obama shills, but I will bite.
"Julia, at age 23, who works in the current White House makes 30% less money than her male counterpart, but she makes up that gap by selling condoms to high school children. She also is an expert on how to prepare bulldog and other such fine dining items which she often prepares for the presidents evening snack. Julia is 1/32nd American Indian, and , as luck would have it, she goes by the same Indian Name as the writer of this article – "Spreading Bull"...

As a citizen of This Great Country I strongly feel We should stop The ROMNEY RUBES RYAN ROVE voter Surpression act of 2012. They are using the Patriot Act to be NON- Patriotic. They fully know they dont have a snowballs chance in hells chance of winning come Nov without abiding by Bishop Romneys push for all Publican Governors to make it tough for the poor, the Elderly, the African Americans, The Hispanics & yes Even Vets, Especially disabled ones. As Romney picks up the phone & says Hi Rubes, How ya doin, Go Mittster, & I gotta tell you this is easier than I thought, These folks of lesser Class cant even get an ID withoout an ID. This is goona fly come Nov. You are the man RICHIE RICH ROMNEY!

obama is sinking in the polls and Mitt has not even began going after him. obama is so desperate he is bringing up the Usama mess...and looking like a cheap political hack in doing so...running over to sign a pact with the Afgahns that is an absolute joke, written so as to not bind anyone except American to pay billions to the Afgahns as we leave with our tails between our legs. All of this to distract voter from what is really going jobs, high oil prices, his failing at the supreme court....and much much more. You see with obama it is all about smoke and morally bankrupt empty shirt.

oh stealing an election is actually making voters prove they are Americans? NO, stealing an election is what whore-house-harry-ried did in nevada...trucking union workers to the polls and even paying for some of them to do so.... now old harry, the marxist, is one of the most corrupt politicians to come out of Nevada, and that is corrupt! And, you may know he is a Mormon too...but then I just know you would vote for him (you lefties)...

You realize you have to have a ID to get care at the VA?

        May 3, 2012 at 12:29 pm |
      • John

Steveo or another Vet out there. Does it make sense that a military person, differently-abled or otherwise, does not have or cannot get an ID easily?

        May 3, 2012 at 12:30 pm |
      • John

Thanks Steveo – I did not see your post before I posted mine...

        May 3, 2012 at 12:30 pm |
      • Steveo

You realize in order to become a vet, one has to serve and in order to serve, one has to have an ID? The military also issues ID! So your "disabled vet" scenerio, while a heart tugger is not quite accurate! Lost IDs can also be replaced Terry/d! You actually think the VA is going to despense medications to someone without an ID? That's a lawsuit waiting to happen!

        May 3, 2012 at 12:35 pm |
      • John

Ok Terry. We heard from a Vet and it seems your argument is all wet. The only reason I can see not to present ID is to allow people to vote multiple times or allow people to vote who should not be i.e. dead people, illegals, unregistered people, etc...

        May 3, 2012 at 12:39 pm |
      • Steveo

No problem! While Terry/d's example is possible, it has a very low probability! For any vet with lost IDs, the VA can help. The military took blood samples and finger prints! Even though some may fall through the cracks and get lost in the system, Terry/d's post is more alarmist that fact!

        @ Steveo
News Flash! Here is a great read for you....and so pertinent today.

Delivered in October 2002 when then Illinois State Senator Obama was still in the Illinois Senate his term as U. S. Senator didn't start until January 20, 2003.
Barack Obama's Stirring 2002 Speech Against the Iraq War.

@ Jean2009 thanks but I knew he gave speeches condemning folks who had to make a hard call, when he (President Obama ) was not eligble to do so! He even admitted those who saw the intel may have been justified in their yes vote (Biden, Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, etc).

Well now, lets just ask why the "Voter Suppression Act", as the Dems like to call it, is going to "suppress" them so much?

        Wouldn't it "suppress" Republicans too?

The problem is that Dems seem to have a much harder time finding their Birth Certificates than Republicans. And because Dems think that even people without Birth Certificates, like dead people and non-citizens can vote too.

And look what they did in 2008. They elected Barack Obama, who doesn't even have a Birth Certificate or ID, and may be a non-citizen himself!

        May 4, 2012 at 2:58 am |
      • Jules

I think that it will also surpress those elderly voters that tend to vote Republican, too. I personally believe it is wrong to surpress anyone from voting since voting is a constitutional right.

Nobody's going to pay it anyway ! Rome is burning to the ground but the Liberals don't care. When the end comes all the big spenders will be dead, leaving you to hold the bag.

Judy, I saw this conversation on MSDNC also.
Unlike Obama, Romney is not a Washington insider. You may have learned this watching Newt and Santorrum avoiding offering their support. Last I checked Romney didn't sign anything.

So the Republicans are going to settle on an east coast, elite, millionaire from an aristocratic family? What is his experience that will make him a successful Conservative President?
        1. He fires people, lays off employees, and outsources jobs while pocketing the pension funds of those same employees.
        2. He is comfortable in an upper class setting. After all, America IS the upper class, isn't it? The little people, like you and I, are not really very important. People of Romney's class and background see us as livestock that can understand English.
        3. He does not care if Americans suffer. He has made lots of them suffer so far in his life. He's made of tough stuff. No weepy compassion will ever cloud his judgment.
        4. He knows how to destroy corporations and sell off their assets. He could use those skills to destroy the federal government, a stated goal of Conservatism
        5. After the Romney Administration is over in 2016 or 2018, Conservatives will say, "Hey, you can't blame us for the disastrous Romney Administration. He wasn't a TRUE Conservative. What we need is a TRUE Conservative like Ron Paul or Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum … or maybe Senator Palin."

Did you notice when Romney spoke yesterday he had all women behind him even when he wasn't talking about women's issues. The GOP thinks women are so stupid that having all women in the background is going to make them more likely to support women's issues. SO NOT!

@jean 2009 please answer me some questions first off obama likes to claim that hes a christian,ok but how can you be christian and muslem at the same time? Now 2nd he was a very poor child growing up,with that said with that said being poor and the ivy league schools that he went to doesnt give out scholarships so who paid for his college? next you get great enjoyment calling romney a flip flop, well when Obama was running for prez he had said gitmo was going to close under his watch but not only did he not close but he took information that was obtained to kill bin laden. you see jean you want to resort to name calling which only shows how desporate your getting

    May 3, 2012 at 8:38 pm |
    • Jules

First and foremost, President Obama is not and never has been a muslim. He is a Christian and as a fellow Christian, I recognize a person of faith when I hear one speak. Perhaps you didn't hear the president when he said that he and his wife just finished paying off their college loans 8 years ago. As a personal question, gung hoe, how old are you? I am guessing that you are quite a young person by your writing. If so, good thing you are interested in our government.

Under Bill Clinton and AL GORE, the biggest enviromentalist you can name, gas prices were $1.82/gal when Clinton left office.
When GWB took over, Gas prices skyrocketed to $3.86/gal. Oil industry profits SKYROCKETED. It should be no surprise, put an oil man in charge, and oil company profits skyrocket. Too bad for the middle class paying those gas prices... but then again the Republicans don't care about the middle class...
Under GWB, the worst terrorist attack in the history of the world took place.
Seven years later, the Republicans couldn't catch Osama. Bush started two multi-trillion dollar wars, which our childrens children will be paying for.
Three years under Obama, Osama Bin Laden is dead, and the wars are coming to an end.
Romney plans to INCREASE military spending, even though the military's budget is twice as much as it was in 2001, and the wars are ENDING. People wonder why we're spending so much... HERE IT IS FOLKS!
Romney plans on giving millionaires a massive tax cut. This is money we don't have.
Tax cuts are great, yes, they're fantastic. And if we were swimming in surplus, they'd be appropriate. But borrowing money to give tax cuts is nothing but buying votes of the wealthy.
Second, he plans to INCREASE military spending.
If Romney is going to boost spending and give away a trillion dollars, it's gotta come from somewhere. Social Security, anyone?
Hint: If you're paying the same SS tax as your parents, but getting less benefits, how is that not INCREASING taxes???
Pay me $1500 and I'll give you a giant TV! Oops, can't afford it, here's a 19" CRT for your $1500.... but at least I didn't raise your taxes!!!! Sad thing is, the GOP followers believe this!
THEIR TAXES WILL GO UP BY 50%!!!!!!
People making less than $1M will have their taxes go down by ONE PERCENT (whoopdeedoo!).
Millionaires, on the other hand, will get HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS in tax cuts.
Tell a republican that every person burning fossil fuels since the beginning of time is having an effect on the environment, and they laugh about how "arrogant" it is.
Tell them that a black man in charge 5% of the world population is spending us into a disaster, and they eat it up. Even more so when it's an economist on Faux New's payroll.
To paraphase the republicans: "Has anyone actually SEEN this debt? Or is this just a CONSERVATIVE CONSPIRACY? Maybe instead of destroying the economy on some "mythology" that Faux News Economists are crowing about, we should make sure there really is a problem first! This "debt limit" is a GOVERNMENT IMPOSED limit. The FREE MARKET is willing to let us keep borrowing. So now the government knows better?"
      Obama: A Christian
      Romney: A Mormon
Romney's dad is a Mexican and lived in a POLYGAMIST commune.
Mormons believe in Polygamy, but only gave it up because the FED made it illegal.
Now we're putting a Mormon in charge of the FED....
Rick Perry's pastor called Mormonism a cult... is that who we want in charge of the US?
Allows Corporations and FOREIGN CITIZENS to donate unlimited money to SuperPACs.
This means radical middle eastern countries with a LOT of money can now "buy" candidates.
Romney's the party of big oil... who does he represent, Americans or his new overseas masters?
Republicans want to make Birth control - all forms of it - illegal. They want Republicans at the Doctor's office, making sure you only get "approved" procedures.
They want to ban tests for birth defects, etc, because people who discover their child has major genetic problems / birth defects get ABORTIONS.
And "Severely conservative" republicans do not believe in abortions for rape, incest, or in cases where the mother's life is in danger.
And where do they get the ideas about gay marriage and abortion, no condoms, no sxx before marriage? That's right, the Bible. A book written in the middle east. By middle easterners. For some reason they all think Jesus was a white guy that spoke English. No, sorry, he wasn' born of "Mary" and "Joseph", it was more like "Mohammad and Malkaahrah Al Jbazjerra".
The fact is, the bible was TRANSLATED into English.
Guess what, the Bible also says to kill those who don't convert.
Do we really want more religious crazies in charge?
Thomas Jefferson said the Bible was filled with "Superstitious nonsense".
The founding fathers did NOT want a middle eastern religion in our government.

      May 3, 2012 at 9:43 pm |
      • Steveo

Give me book, chapter, and verse to show me where the Bible says to kill those who don't convert! While you're there show me the Biblical prohibition on condoms. I'm betting you can't!

Do you realize the US was also attacked under Clinton: USS Cole, US Embassies AND the first WORLD TRADE CENTER attack in 1993! You never explained what happened to the budgets of intelligence agencies under Clinton!

You don't think President Obama is currently spening money we don't have?

Gas prices recently hit over $4.00 in some areas. You failed to mention that! Why is that? Not sure where you have been hiding but we already established the fact a president does NOT control gas prices, so no Dem/GOP credit and NO Dem/GOP blame!

While you had some good points you bias ruined it! Sorry!

@ gung hoe, You really are young, I want to know what church you preach at because as a pastor myself and as a missionary we bring people to the the LOVE of christrian faith all the time. your name has nothing to do with being a christian, people around the world can take on a christian name if they so choose. But regardless i wonder what book do you preach from because my book preaches love and tolerance.Proverbs Those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. the interpretation is there is alot of evil in this world, and for you to spread hatred for one person is evil. Do not be so quick to judge someone else least ye be judged.

So it is his name you object to? What about all of the people from Iraq in this country that have Arabic names but are Christians? I suppose they are not really Christians either. You cannot identify a Christian by their name. Nor can you be a Christian and slander or hate your fellow man.

@jules ok you sound like a good christian man.How can you back a president that says we are no longer a christian nation, when our nation was founded on christianity. What is our nation then.As far as what I listen too or watch or read I weigh the facts then back who I feel is the better candidate. And as far as compareing the two we are talking about politicians here and most of them arnt real high on the morality scale.

    May 4, 2012 at 8:56 am |

First of all, I am a good Christian woman and a proud member of the Evangelical Christian Left. Secondly, this nation was not founded as a Christian nation but as a nation based on God the Creator. Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God, as I do, but the majority of the founders were Diests (believing in God) but there is no mention of Jesus.

I think you need to read a little history to find out about the founding fathers. Many, many people believe in God, not as many people believe is Jesus as the Son of God. That is just a fact. While you and I may believe that Jesus was God on earth, not everyone who believes in God believes that. To say it is not possible to believe in God and not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ is simply not an accurate statement – it does not reflect the world as it is or as it was at the time this country was founded and actually, even before that.

The following are the words of Jesus as recorded in John 14:6

        John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I don't know what you believe or not but NO one can be a Christian without believing in Christ!

You and I may agree with that, but not everyone does. For example, the Mormons on their website say that they believe that the Bible is the word of God "as far as it goes." They believe "the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." They believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three separate entities. They do not believe that Jesus was God the Son or that the Holy Spirit is God in spirit form. You can find out what the various religions believe by googling them and finding their official site. They usually have a lot of information there about what they believe. Many times there is also a place to ask questions and then someone from that religion will respond to you via email. There are many different beliefs in this world and in fact, in this country. Just keep following Jesus and you will be fine.

    In response to:

*** From JULIA with LOVE ***

    I feel so protected,
    And sheltered, and loved.
    Because you with me,
    Oh, my dearest Barack!
    You’ll save me from hunger,
    You’ll save me from cold.
    You’ll help me fight acne
    and cancer, and mold.
    You’ll give me, my future,
    You’ll give me The Pill!
    If I get abortion,
    You’ll handle the bill!
    You’ll pay my insurance,
    tuition and rent.
    And I don’t care
    how much will you spend.
    You’ll watch me from cradle
to the time I’ll be dead.
    You’ll be in The Office
    (as I understand)
    You’ll be in The Office
    till you hundred fifteen!
    I’ll be UNDER YOU,
    Oh, my dearest, my dream!
    I want your protection,
    your money, your HOPE!
    Of course, in exchange…
    I’ll be giving my vote!
    You like my Big Brother,
    so caring and nice!
    My dog barks for you,
    and even my mice!
    I pinned up your picture
    across from my bed.
    I’m sure, my dearest,
    that Michelle’ll understand.
    You’ll save me from drought.
    You’ll save me from flood.
    You’ll cool our Planet.
    You’ll fight in Iraq.
    You have chiseled pecs.
    And you have Nobel Prize.
    I think you are God.
    (Men can’t be so nice)
    I lie on my bed
    and I whisper your name:
“I love you, I love you,
    Barack my Hussein.”

@jules do us all a favor check with your minister and get back with me tomorow k

You check with your minister and if he tells you different than I told you, then that minister is not telling you the truth. Here is the question you ask him – do some people believe in God without believing in the Holy Trinity? The answer will be yes, such as those who practice the Jewish faith, the muslim faith, and many others. They all believe in God, but those two religions in particular believe that Jesus was a prophet and not the son of God, or God in human form.

Once again, you refuse to addesrs the basic fact that Weiner refuses to let the proper authorities handle this. Once again, the reply is let him file a report with the proper law enforcement authorities'.That is the quickest way to find out who did it. If a hacking was done then the perpetrator of the crime will be arrested and will hopefully be charged with MULTIPLE charges. That's what the police and the FBI actually get paid to do. And given the high profile of this event, it's a VERY safe bet it would be investigated. And once again, hiring a private investigator will do absolutely no good, because companies like Twitter aren't required to turn over information regarding login IPs' without a court order. And you won't see a court order happening without the Capitol Police or the FBI being involved. A private investigator has ZERO powers of arrest. ZERO powers to legally obtain the information, obtainable only by court order. You can bring up all you want about what if this' or maybe this happened', but it will do exactly zero good to bring the guilty parties to justice without law enforcement being involved. If an investigator does something dumb like illegally obtaining the IP trace, or illegally detaining a suspect, that suspect can and will get their case dismissed on Constitutional grounds. If a hacking was NOT done, then Weiner could be and should be charged with filing a false report.Think of this the NYPD was actually AT Weiner's office today. You had a perfect opportunity for the matter to become a criminal investigation and when an arrest is made, the perp does the perp walk, in handcuffs. Visualize it what if it WAS Breitbart or one of his people don't you WANT to see that? Yet you continue to defend Weiner's refusal to notify the proper authorities.I wore a badge for nine years I have some idea of what I'm talking about. Do you?

I think Bachmann will surprise alot of ppeloe coming out of the gate in Iowa and I also think she can raise enough money to sustain a campaign as long as she wants to be in the race. If she is top3 in Iowa watch out cause she will be bringing it the rest of the way.
