Democratic Sources: Obama aides annoyed with Biden![]() Washington (CNN) – Multiple top Democrats said Thursday the president's senior aides are deeply annoyed with Vice President Joe Biden for forcing the conversation on same-sex marriage. One source said Biden has, in the past, counseled the president against announcing support for same-sex marriage – making the circumstances that much more frustrating. Although other sources said they have not heard Biden make that point in recent years. Biden made comments supporting such unions during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" that aired Sunday, seemingly forcing the issue to the forefront of public debate. Another source said the recent events gave renewed life to old jokes and flippant remarks like, "Hello? Does he know this is the Obama presidency not the Biden presidency?" None of these sources said they believed it would create a lasting rift between the West Wing and the vice president's office – because Biden has gone off script before and will do it again. The president's team said they were aware of the risk when they tapped Biden for the ticket. One source added that the president has a close personal relationship with the former senator and that trumps his advisers' frustrations. But there is a great deal of interest in keeping the vice president "on script." These top Democrats said they are not concerned that Biden will "get credit" for the same-sex marriage announcement. They said history will show it's the president who did this and they believe most people thought the president already supported same-sex marriage. Sources also said the vice president feels bad about putting the president in a tough position. As evidence he is not in the dog house, Biden hosted a student loan event at the White House Thursday and will make a two-day campaign swing in Ohio next week. |

Well,I'd rather have a VP that slips on his tongue than a VP that shoots people in the face while hunting. How bout that republicans,ya like that one!!
OH yeah Pete! Shooting someone is accidental (perhaps), HOWEVER, stepping on your own tongue over and over again is HABIT!
How do you like that?
Wow ... a quote uttered by our current veep is moderated ....LOL
this is a big effing deal.... ooops was that miic open????
You know Bill, sometimes comedy clubs will have what they call "Open Mic Night". Just sayin'!
Whatever ignited the fire, it led to an evolved, historic decision by Obama. lets continue to move forward while the bullies in the GOP whine, throw tantrums, and take their toys and wont play...grow up and evolve and stop standing in the way of progress.
Happy with both president and vp. They both made a good call this is really about human rights . Better than ol mitt being a bully homophobe in high scholl and cutting a guys hair off. His character has not changed. Once a rich bully always a reic bully. Obama 2012
I had to laugh at this story because the first thing I thought of when reading how Obama's aides are annoyed with Biden was...
Yeah, welcome to my world! But I'm not annoyed at the Veep! Just a funny thought
Biden was picked as VP because he is stupid. Obama always wants to be perceived as smart so he deliberately picked the stupidest person he could find, somebody who would never outshine him. As usual, for Obama it's always about himself.
No, Biden was picked as VP because he is male, white and had working class roots, something Obama has trouble with.
If you think that means "stupid" think again.
I think that Sponge-Bob your name suits you, you soak up all negative information and that's where it stays..soaked in your brain, and Fiscal 2020, President Obama has no problems with VP Biden. I think they get along well. I wish You people would stop always using race as a reason to open your mouths. If you have nothing positive to say ever, you should not say anything.
As an affable dope unburdened by deep thoughts, Joe Biden endears himself to s sizeable strata of the democrat base. Couple that with Obama's assurance of government free-stuff, and boom! Now we're talking electoral victory!
