POTUS' Day Ahead: Talking small business and bestowing the Medal of Honor

President Obama kicks off the day with a visit to an as-yet unidentified small business in Washington, DC where he will hold a roundtable on job creation with Small Business Administrator Karen Mills.

Back at the White House, the president will meet with congressional leaders to push his so-called “to do list” – five separate proposals the president unveiled earlier this month that have little hope of passing Congress.

Later, the president will award the Medal of Honor posthumously to Army Specialist Leslie H. Sabo, Jr. who was killed in action in Cambodia on May 10, 1970.

"One last comment: chdilren can't mention the name of God in the classroom or utter a prayer, but they can recite and sing what is essentially a song of "praise" to "Barack Hussein Obama?" What's wrong with this picture?"Children are allowed to pray in school and can talk about God all they want. Where does it say that a public school will admonish chdilren for uttering a prayer or mentioning God? Public schools are allowed to teach religion. Religion is part of culture and culture is a part of the curriculum. Public schools have nondenominational clubs for students who wish to participate. English classes read the Bible to talk about it as a piece of literature. Choirs sing and orchestras play pieces that are clearly religious. It's part of our culture and public schools cannot and will not deny students the opportunity to gain perspectives. I thank God everyday for Barack Obama. He is the Messiah who will relieve our country and stop the downward spiral that the republican party so graciously brought upon our country. Thank you God for a strong leader, Barack Hussein Obama! -B.R.M.

Queno one thing that hasn't gotten a lot of play is that byenod all the negatives due to Bush and the 12 years of Republican held congress there was a problem of being too successful. Look at the two successful Democratic Presidential candidates. Both ran on economic conservative principles. No one is pushing to go back to the 1970 s. Reagan won to such an extent that his views are now standard. Likewise the prior Republican strength, defense, was in a way successful and is less an issue. As bad as terrorism is it simply isn't the same scenario as the cold war. This gives Democrats more power. So the strengths of Republicans aren't as strong simply because they succeeded in changing government so people don't notice the problems. (If Obama governs as a liberal rather than a centrist they may come back and revitalize the Republicans but I don't think one could count on that) The problem is that there needs to be some new thought about what Republicanism stands for. New coalitions need to come together. Right now the Reagan coalitions are breaking (or have broken down). What will emerge just isn't clear at all. And probably won't until we've had a year or two of Obama governance so there is something to react to. A lot of people are saying Jindal is the new hope of the Republican party. Maybe, I'm not sure though. There are things about Jindal I really don't like but that are demanded in Louisiana. (Like opposition to evolution)

there are a lot of guys in war who earned the MOH...who never got one. The few who do get them wear them for the rest. So you don't have to hate your country...you just need an education.

have a great time obama, you narcissist. We made a mistake voting for you... you are what you are..a radical black man with hatred for America and Americans...first black president who had a chance to unite America and chose to divide for your own evil intents... we are learning. Now it is time for a president with an American brain who actually has demonstrated success as a leader who loves America...good riddance.

@jerry,if you were intelligent, you'd vote for him again. You republicans and your spin on everything,he doesn't make it all rosey overnight and you're bitchin,he has the lowest taxes on citizens in years including your Bush, you're still bitchin and ya know what,if ya had Romney,ya still be bitchin!!!There's just nothing he does that apeases you does it,were you like this as a kid,get everything ya want, but still bitched for more, till maybe ya got your ass beat by your parents,if ya had any!!The incumbent could walk on water, cure cancer ,make everyone rich and you'd still bitch,he's also maloto, not 100% African American, there again, get your facts straight.Ya know what Jerry,I don't think you had the guts or intelligence to mark in that little bubble with the name Obama for president at the polls,ya just want to be one of us who are proud of what he really is doin as our first black president.Especially against those racist congressmen on Capital Hill,ya think that Romney, the leper of the republican party would do better,I certainly know he wouldn't,but you republicans are only dreaming because it'll be 4 more for Pres.Obama and you all know it,bye bye!!!
