California golden for President Obama

(CNN) – Is California President Barack Obama's ATM?

The president heads to California Wednesday for four fund-raisers. It's his third fund-raising swing through the Golden State over the past month.

The president's raised over $44 million in California this cycle, according to data through the end of April from Political MoneyLine. That's nearly $16 million more than the amount Obama's raised in New York, which is second when it comes to contributions for president.

But the fact the Golden State is number one is no surprise.

Bush and Regan took more vacation time than any president so whats the point.

well deserved vacations. What's your point?

Obama has attended more personal fund-raisers than Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined — 154 vs. 94, and he still has 4 months to go........Well, least there's one thing he's good at!!

    June 6, 2012 at 12:36 pm |
    • Marc

He is also pretty good at authorizing missions that take out the world's highest level terrorists. Also, you may want to do a little fact checking–94 fundraisers by all those presidents combined is incorrect.

      • acdcguy

You got me info was from March…... “compiled statistics about presidential travel and fundraising going back to President Jimmy Carter in 1977, found that Obama had held 104 fundraisers by March 6th this year, compared to 94 held by Presidents Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined….. I tacked on a few but lost count...........sure it’s more than 154......... And who wouldn't give orders to take out terrorist? Any sitting president would, Dem or Repub........but Obama is only one that leaks the info for his own political gain…….

      • the anti-obama

Yeah...Ask the SEALS what they think about Obama - they can't stand him...all he did was put them at increased risk when he paraded the bin laden killing, and all for the hope of a few votes ....

Obama is a fools, wait, he's just a fool.

It is funny how ppl that can find one thing wrong will run a mile with it. First he gets in office with more problems then Jimmy, Regan, etc. and we say not good enough. He kill the number one terrorist. The hole reson why we got in debt, gave up our libertys and and spent 10yrs fight and over 5000 soilders dead and now it was easy. Like when bush and his vp could of killed him what happen there? Anyway its just interesting that when ppl hate something they will poke there eye to spite there face. Now i know why we have so many corrupt, out of touch, Congressman. Our goverment is just a reflexion of us. Remember that everyone. I dont agree with everything obama did but everything that goes wrong isnt just obama fought but everyone who decided to do nothing, the ones that thought it was better to gamble with wall street than to invest in this country and its ppl. Now see some of you want that to happen again. Some ppl will sell out there mom to feed there dog. OMG!!!!!

Hee Hee, What an incredibly Un Responsible Prez. in 2000, Hey Bro Jeb, Can you fix this & rig it & make me the Man, Sure Bro, No problem, We all no the History of our Country after that...

Imagine Clinton supporting the Bush tax cuts yesterday. What a nerve to say what is right and go against the lib leaders...

        June 6, 2012 at 2:10 pm |
      • John

BTW Tom, it is 2012. We elected a new president almost 4 years ago. This administration has failed so there is no wonder why you libs do not want to talk about the economy. And, to your point, it will take years to fix the damage from THIS ADMINISTRATION. The healthcare mess alone will take years to resolve, especially since the IRS has already hired thousands of "healthcare police officers" that will need to be dealt with. The fact that this administration hired thousands of people and did not wait for the court decision shows their arrogance.
I am not going to tell you libs what to do, but the election yesterday and the elections before that should be a message. Working America is telling you the direction you are taking is dead wrong. You can choose to ignore it, but it is what it is.

        June 6, 2012 at 2:25 pm |
      • Cynthia L.

Clinton was and is for tax breaks for ALL AMERICANS if the tax breaks are continued -not just for the wealthy ones. He said so himself. I heard the interview.

        June 6, 2012 at 7:41 pm |
      • Ray E. (Georgia)

        Careful there Tom,
We Republicians messed things up so you Liberals could clean up the mess. After you clean up the mess FDR left us and of course that big thinker Lyndon Baines Johnson. So ger a bucket and mop Tom. There is a lot of cleaning to do. Oh, I'm sorry I left out Wisconsin.

        June 7, 2012 at 9:25 am |
  3. John

Is Cali liberal? Of course they support Obama.

Given the headline on the front page – I am wondering – were black people insulted because the dems picked Obama? Just another stupid left leaning headline by CNN. What really makes me laugh are the posts from the left saying "yes, Hispanics would be insulted"..
You libs may want to take a break for a while. I also laugh at the talk about the "Repubs spent 7 to 1, that is why Walker won – WI doesn't mean anything". How much did Obama outspend McCain?

    June 6, 2012 at 12:54 pm |
    • Cynthia L.

Yeah, and that little Robo call to voters in Wisconsin that said if you signed the recall petition you didn't need to vote? I'll be looking forward to the Justice Dept. getting to the bottom of that little lyiing thing the Republicans have going.
Walker needed outside money to get 'er done. A hands down schmuck.

      June 6, 2012 at 7:47 pm |
      • John

Sure, let us follow up on the robo calls and ignore the death threats to Walker. Liberal priorities are messed up.
The union started this fight in WI and they lost BIG. I don't understand it – after all you libs had drums and all those OWS look-a-likes. What you didn't have was every-day working people. Any group would look in the mirror after a bad loss like the one that just happened in WI. But not the dems, we hear from people like O'Donnel on MSDNC how Obama was the big winner in the WI election. LOL!!! Talk about being totally out of touch...

        June 7, 2012 at 11:21 am |
      • Cynthia L.

And, the death threats to Obama should be investigated, as well. It is horrible that anyone threaten anyone's life. Even, little man Walker.

        June 6, 2012 at 7:53 pm |
      • John

Tom, I am right and you just proved it. Every day we get an ignorant poster that talks Fox down WITH NOTHING TO BACK UP WHAT THEY ARE SAYING – just like you. I challenge you and you put up two posts WITH NOTHING TO BACK UP WHAT YOU ARE SAYING..
BTW, MSDNC, your station, was trying to defend the Times this morning. They basically said "we know they are totally bias, but we love them".

        June 7, 2012 at 6:45 am |
      • John

Cyn, I think that is an old talking point. Why would Romney want to be interviewed by people who openly state they want the other guy? If I were him, I would not only avoid the press that openly supports Obama now, I would avoid them after I was in office.

        June 7, 2012 at 11:27 am |
      • Cynthia L.

When you narrow your viewing of news to one channel and one source you miss out on a lot of other viewpoints that are just a valid, better, worse, a fuller picture than what you could imagine. Information and variety of ideas and views should not be shunned, it should be embraced as necessary to a free thinking country such as ours. If Mitt can't handle tough questions instead of softballs with hugs and kisses, how will he fair when confronting Mr. Putin? Will you be okay if all is done behind closed doors so Mr. Mitt won't look like a whimp?? I'm not buying his ducking the press. If he is proud of his views, he'll should stand up and say so and why. He doesn't want cross the TeaPartyPubs. 'Cause good-golly-don't-cha-know-they are scary. Mitt should man up and so should you want him to, John.

Tom, you are a joke. Now it is the pollsters fault? You libs just spin around and point to assign blame on anything and everything.. Pollsters are pollsters... Why don't you read about fast and furious or Solindra or massave fund raisers, or wars on the church, or wars on big oil, or wars on the rich or something real this administration is actually doing to see what you are actually supporting.. You are on the side of SHarpton, Schultz, Wasserman-Schultz, Reid, Pelosi and their gang. Seeing what you post, you belong with them. Good luck to you.
Rasmussen Reports and Gallup are the only two firms that produce daily tracking polls. Both measure the President’s Job Approval on a daily basis. Gallup measures the Approval among all adults while Rasmussen measures it among Likely Voters. Generally, polls of all adults produce results that are more favorable to Democrats than polls of Likely Voters[7]. However, the ratings produced by both firms are quite similar and show the same trends[citation needed].

John, sounds like you have an issue with all the campaign spending allowed under the Supreme Courts decision called Citizens United. I think it stinks, too.. All this money drowns out ALL of our voices. WE need to reverse Ciltizens United that now allows 'Big Money' to spend millions upon millions to influence our elections.

        June 7, 2012 at 10:40 pm |

And CA will have alot more fund raisers for President Obama . Thanks to Karl Roves citizens united, It will not take a BILLION dollars to win an election.

The A S S has decided to, once again, land in LA during rush hour, so he can drive his motorcade down the 405 freeway (a parking lot on a good day). He does this so he can have dinner, oblivious to the people who will not get home to their dinner for 4-5 hours now...all because of him. Selfish jerk!!

    June 6, 2012 at 7:38 pm |
    • Cynthia L.

You live in Malibu and are complaining about the traffic on the 405?? You aren't even picking up plastic on the beach or anything constructive, as if you care, because you are stuck in traffic that the President has nothing to do with on Pacific Coast Highway? What a laugh..

      June 6, 2012 at 9:36 pm |
    • Cynthia L.

Oh, and by the way, the President is taking a helicopter to his events to prevent impacting the traffic in Los Angeles. I would think if you are so-oooo concerned about the traffic on the 405, you would be thankful for the Stimulus Money being poured into the 405's expansion and repair. Too bad, chickie, the rest of us love it.

We need jobs and the Republicans block it like the blockheads they've become. Why I am no longer Republican. They have lost their way and are determined to pull everyone down with them.

Cynthia – Everyone admits that we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. How many years in a row has California raised taxes? And yet the debt continues to increase because they spend more than they take in. Businesses, especially technology, has been moving to states like Texas for years now because of the ridiculous taxes in CA. Please get a clue

        June 7, 2012 at 11:30 am |
      • Cynthia L.

If you are talking about austerity policies, look to Europe. They refused to tax the rich and still slash away. Failure. They are sinking because of it. PUT AMERICANS TO WORK and watch the money flow. The middle class will always be the ones to float this boat.

Going backward is an option? What, to Bush's two unpaid for wars (kept of the books until Obama put them on) and Medicare Part D never funded? Tax breaks for the rich while all this was happening? No thanks. Then there is the Military Contractors making more money than our soldiers but, making lots for Cheney's buds at Halliburton. That is depravity. So easy to forget if you are a Republican? We are ALL AMERICANS and should care.
I'm perfectly happy with the idea that Osama Bin-Laden ain't around anymore. Aren't you?

For this nation to prosper WE ALL have to WORK TOGETHER!! To stop oversight of any bank, lending organization and investment/hedge fund firms is insanity. FIX what is broken and encourage that which works without hanging the taxpayers out to dry when people engage in risky behaviours. All of us, Independents, Republicans and Dems can make this country work if we do it together and not for some slimey few who are in it for themselves only.

        June 7, 2012 at 2:58 pm |
      • Steveo

        @Cynthia L.,

Fully agree but, The last time left and right did ANYTHING together was to sing "God Bless America" on the steps of the US Congress just afer 911. We can blame politicians all day long but WE keep sending the same ones back up there and then guys who turn a $3 Billion dollar deficit into a $150 Million surplus gets hammered! Go figure! While I agree with your sentiments, the problem is not enough Americans do!

        June 7, 2012 at 3:05 pm |
      • Cynthia L.

Vote for the people who have the best interests of US ALL. 2010 sent alot of know-nothing, obstructionists whose idea of No Compromise is somehow governing. Statesmanship is lacking. All parties must give and take. That is DEMOCRACY. I have been attacking the Republicans lately because I think they have allowed and encouraged the most disruptive elements of that party (which is the far-right minority) to obscure the fleecing of America by the ultra-relligious nutjobs who are out to control your morals and belief systems and the destructive finiancial wizards who blow up the economy and get away with it. Talk about Big Oil? Exxon Mobile is the richest, and I mean, RICHEST company on this planet and the Republicans still want to give them money from taxpayers, called SUBSIDIES, and they still rip us off at the pump. WE MADE EXXON OIL!! WE pay for exploration, drilling, delivery -EVERYTHING. I am mad as-hell. This planet is fuel by the sun. It is responsible for all life on Earth. It's free. To find away to cut out the middle man eventually, will set this world free. Reason enough for energy companies to work against that future – they won't be able fill their pockets with your money anymore. Let's work together and find common ground that benefits the MOST people. WE are Americans and WE can do it!!

Biggest difference between Bush & Obama:

Bush's response to someone disagreeing with him: "isn't is great to live in a free country where people have freedom of speech?"

Obama's response to someone disagreeing with him: "Fire him!"

    June 7, 2012 at 2:55 pm |
    • Cynthia L.

You are thinking of Romney, who likes to fire people, saying so in front of a lot of people and Trump the Rump, who is a Romney supporter and who has a flailing show in the ratings department.

Bush's response the day an Iraqi threw his shoes at him for trashing his country with war and destruction over Weapons of Mass Destruction that were never found was, "Isn't it great to live in a free country where people have freedom of speech?" It's okay the country was left in chaos, no electricity, no running water, though. Freedom of speech cost the man dearly, as he was arrested and sent to jail.

I dont agree with the war or why we went there but i do mind the billions of dollars wasted on rebuild and blowing up the same country. When we wont let our own kids get a education or go to college. We will rebuild a road there 10 time but we wont rebuild a highway that 100s and thousands ppl use everyday. Lke the guy in ohio i think who soild his highway for 50yrs and now charge toll. Why do china or india or watever overseas country corporation that bought it instead of us building our own roads, but we need to rebuild iraqi forget that they got more black gold than all of us so they got money to build and start bussiness thats there gov they need to take control of we need to look in the mirror and clean our own face. But Bush left alot of decsion to make.

Lets all take a good look in the mirror – no make-up- pimples and all. I'm for honesty and yeah, it hurts sometimes. We are so much more together than we are divided. ANYONE whose agenda is "DIVIDE AND CONQUER!" is a scab.
