Obama bus tour

A campaign official confirms the President will be doing a 2 day bus trip next week in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The trip will begin on Thursday July 5 and is expected to hit northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

The campaign will start to include a wider variety of public events which will give the president more expsoure to voters but fundraisers will still be a key part of the schedule as Team Obama has to fight to stay even financially with the Republicans.

Jota,You don't seem to realize how afaird you guys sound by continually attempting to tie Barack Obama to the monster of the week. This week it is Hugo Chaves. Next week it will be Ahmadinejad. And so it goes. You use the liberal label as if it is a cuss word, a curse upon a candidate. Frankly, that's pretty pathetic. You call him a socialist, though I am impressed that conservatives have finally retired the communist label, realizing that communism is a dead horse. These labels and these attempts to tie particular candidates to this or that bad guy are quite childish and do nothing to add to a real debate on the issues at hand. Stop being afaird of those who will do things differently in this nation. Liberals aren't afaird of conservatives ruling this nation. Why are conservatives afaird of liberals ruling this nation?Cast out your fear boys. It is time to be men.

Tons of lies? Who is lying? I think GOP is amazing, they always turn the lies and hypocrisy that they have against the dems.
Mitt Romney is the flip flopper and a big liar. He said he would voted for Dream Act, he said he wanted illegal immigrant to self deport, and now, it is just the opposite?? You are a hypocrite, and a liar, just like Romney.

@ Sarah – Today, July 2, 2012, Mitt Romney spokesman stated that the mandate IS NOT A TAX – he even repeated that. Imagine that?

        July 2, 2012 at 8:42 pm |
      • Sarah

It is a tax and the American people remember Obamas words that is NOT a tax, what a liar.

        July 2, 2012 at 8:44 pm |
      • Cynthia L.

Oops, Sarah, YOUR candidate is saying it is NOT a tax because then, he will have to say that the Individual Mandate in Mass. was and is a tax. He has no choice but, to say that. Roberts called it a tax. Which was a surprised to many people because Mass. never billed it that way – only as a penalty.

Sarah, those that HAVE insurance will not have to pay the tax. Those that can't afford health insurance will be given help to purchase it AND the tax is charge those folks WHO CAN AFFORD BUT DO NOT BUY INSURANCE.

There are those on the right who are smart and have made money off the "not so smart" conservatives. The "not so smart" just follow the other "not so smart" right; and the whole time they don't even know what they're talking about or why they're following. That's why Democratic Presidents have created many more jobs and surpluses for our country; they're just obviously smarter! Amen, do I hear a hallelujah? Obama/Biden 2012!

The only sad news is Rush Limbah still hasn't moved to Costa Rico....that was so funny. Costa Rico has mandated single payer health care plus some of the best hospitals in the world....something Rush didn't point out to his Ditto Heads when he was threatening to move there. Every time you buy a China made product, you are outsourcing an American job.

So, with that knowledge you will be supporting Obama's Jobs Bill, and GET YOUR SHOVEL READY, 'cause I can bet that just about everything you own was NOT made in this country. Not even your shovel.

        June 27, 2012 at 8:39 pm |
      • jean2009

When Romney was at Bain Capital he was known as the "Outsourcer in Chief" due to all those jobs he shipped to China and India...

Romney is an empty suit that wants to make you believe he didn't outsource jobs....that he now doesn't like his much touted Romneycare....etc. but his true record doesn't enforce the historical facts.

So this is how the auto bailout will work. American taxpayers pump tens of billions into rescuing General Motors from bankruptcy. Then GM pays us back by shipping more jobs overseas–the equivalent of four assembly plants. The federal money will directly subsidize more imports from abroad, enabling GM to double its car production in Mexico, South Korea and China and selling the cars into the US market.

Can someone explain how this is in our national interest? If that is the best deal Obama’s auto czars can come up with, then this angry taxpayer says: laissez-faire–let GM go down. Better to settle for bankruptcy court than provide public financing to further the destruction of US manufacturing.

    June 27, 2012 at 3:42 pm |
    • Jay Dee

But it is ok to bail out the banks that lend money to companies such as the auto makers so they can send work overseas? Obama saved scres of jobs by saving the automakers....here in the USA. The automakers repad the loan with interest, unlike the banks that raped the economy along with pension monies that literally put people into the streets. If Obama were to put restrictions on automakers about how to conduct their business, the republicans would claim he nationalized the auto industry. Since he didn't, they say he helped in outsourcing. Nothing he does or tries to do can be construed as good by the right, no matter how right it may be. Obama raises the debt ceiling less than any other president (4 times) since Reagan (17 times) and he is no good, while reagan can raise it 17 times without a word from the right. The last republican president to balance a budget was Eisenhower. That speaks accolades!

Sorry Jerry, you got it wrong. Like all republicans you either 1) don't know any better like those in Louisiana and other hick states or 2) only care about your tax cut, i.e. it's all about the $$. I'm guessing you are the former more than the later, based on your comment about his foreign policy. I lived abroad for 5 years and have lots of friends from around the world – Obama has improved our image worldwide more than all republican presidents combined. But let me guess what your response to this is: I must be a Marxist because I care what other nations feel about the USA (like I said, a back woods country bumpkin who doesn't know any better...

that he has relatively llttie policy difference from Clinton. He does have a significant difference from her the will and ability to restore integrity, ethics, and bipartisan cooperation to washington. I see alot of wailing and nashing of teeth by conservatives they talk about things like not wanting to have bipartisanship its their way or the highway. They think everyone who support a non-conservative candidate must just be ignorant when the truth is, people are just moving away from conservatism. People want better healthcare, a lot of people want universal healthcare. People want there to be a timetable to get out of Iraq. People want our President to be willing to talk to our enemies. People want a president who wants to protect civil liberties and uphold the constitution. People want a president who wants to do his business out in the open. People want to have their leaders want them to be involved in the political process. And there is something to be said for having a leader who can effectively communicate his ideas and ideals, who can motivate and uplift a country, and who can improve our standing in the world. The best thing is people get to choose who they want to lead and where they want the country to go, whether or not someone like you thinks it is lame.

I have never seen such a disjointed muffed foreign policy...or domestic policy either. We have got to get rid of these inept marxist morons and install real adult leadership. I am glad President Obama is getting out of DC and bringing out the new bus "The Beast" on tour to continue to fight for the poor and middle class.

Romney is only thinking about sending jobs overseas and keeping his money in swiss accounts and doing what his billionaires tell him to do. There is no diversity in his audience at all when he speaks and he says he wants to be the President of US and continue to bash China while sending jobs to them.

        June 28, 2012 at 6:37 pm |
      • C-Lo

And I guess the dems should have given some thought before choosing their mascot. BTW something occurred to me about this whole Obamacare fiasco...you idiots (and i use the term with utmost respect to the idots out there) call people against big govt "facist" when this law and its supporters are the very definition thereof, forcibly suppressing opposition, regimenting industry, govt forcing participation in an otherwise open marketplace. Of course they are using these Nazi style tactics as a means to an end of an eventual socialist communist state.

...and it is the leftist in power who are the true racist and why they scream it so loud...they believe minorities and women don't have the knowledge or skills to compete and have to "provide" jobs for them. They couch their arguments in doublespeak and pseudo-laws that suppress growth and opportunity by creating a system of govt reliance rather

        June 30, 2012 at 12:59 pm |
      • C-Lo

Continued...rather than self reliance. Of course by doing so it keeps those in power there because they have created a system whereby individuals have come to believe they are incapable of surviving witout govt assistance...it's almost like Stockholm syndrome on a grand scale. The same tactics are used by union bosses who make more off their legions' dues for doing less, but again creating a reliance on them to "Survive." Organized labour is fine, but like in politics the corruptness at the top and mind numbing brainwashing tactics by those in power to create a false sense of reliance has got to end!!!

My goodness Jean, these simpletons are still on their Repugnant Trolling jobs huh?? I just thought I'd drop in tonight to see how everthing was going. I see nothing has changed!! They are still sitting in their musty basements, at their old Apple Computers talking sh*t!! You're a good one Jean; you have my sympathies with this KLAN!! I'm just so sick of the "poor-mouthed" trolls, I have to stay away from here!! You are a trooper and I know you need to be rewarded a 'medal' or something!! These clowns make me sick!! If Jesus Christ came back here from "Heaven", cured cancer and then gave them the pass-key to Heaven, instead of saying thank you Lord, they'd stand there in HIS warm face and ask HIM what took him so long!!!

    June 28, 2012 at 12:37 am |
  15. Name*Liz Carter

.....Thank you always Jean. donnie, OBAMA2012, Dee, LA, Cynthia, and Lionel, I thank you for being troopers for the cause. Just so you know, with this bunch, you will find that they are the perfect examples of what Dr Martin Luther King Jr said once; paraphrasing, he said "the most dangerous enemy that one could have to encounter in this life is one who's INTENTIONALLY IGNORANT"!! So thanks again and keep up the good work, oooops I meant 'worshipping' and please don't forget to drink your Kool-Aid! This is a good batch; the last bad batch was the one Jim Jones fed those "Christians" down in Guyana, May they rest in peace. I bet you that kool-aid company was run out of business!! Romney and his cohorts fired those employees and shut down that company!! LOL!!! They've started up a new company that processes this sort of 'witches brew for the stupid and the gullible. They call it "TEA"!! It's doing the same thing to the "INTENTIONALLY IGNORANT" as Jim Jones' kool-aid did to those folks in Guyana,...it's poisoning their minds. These clowns will vote against their own interests to try to throw this intelligent man of wisdom, and thoughtfulness out of the Whitehouse!!! Bottomline,...hey!! As quiet as they try to keep it, their problem is, they NEVER, EVER envisioned a BLACK MAN in the WHITEHOUSE, unless he was the janitor, the cook, the parking valet, yardsman, butler, or any other of the usual menial , low-wage jobs you can think of that's usually been handed out to African American men and women to try to make a living on!! PRESIDENT of The United States!!??? Oh! NO WAY!! They've got to get him out of there!! They hate that man with a hot heat!! It boils down to nothing else but racism and the yet long-standing allegiance to "white supremacy", PERIOD!! They will argue and deflect this truth with GOD, Himself, that it isn't true, but I promise you, it's sad, but it's true!! All of those people who have died for us to no longer be thought of or treated like 2nd class citizens, marched, demonstrated and spoke to the "powers that were" requesting the rights of equality, justice and fairness, and here we are now, TODAY; still having to fight this battle for this President!! He tries to ignore it or fly above it, but I will for him!! I'm back in the 'trenches' now, it's on!! They don't have to vote for me for nothing, so I'm not worried about backlash!! There are a few of us who have stood and will stand to do battle for Barack H Obama on that front. We will continue to stand until 2016, so you haters may as well forget it!! The ditches you dug for him over these last past 3 and a half years were just too shallow for him; but they were deep enough for you to fall into!! That's what David the Psalmist said would happen too!! You RethugliKKKlan "Christians" may need to go back to BIBLE SCHOOL!!! Obama/Biden 2012!! Yes We Will Again!!!

Just let the Republicans try to take our health care away. You rabid Republicans will soon learn the American people are not going to just cave into you idiots. I for one like the idea of not having insurance companies refusing to insure me because I have MS.

The only thing I want repealed and replaced is the Republican Party.

That's right Jake!! However, I suppose we can say the REPUBLICAN PARTY has already been replaced!! It has been evolving through attrition and inflitration for decades by Rethuglicans and RethugliKKKlans!!! The Teabaggers drove right up to the. New Grand Old Pricks and brought in their witches brew of TEA, and all of them have gone beserk!!! We need to repeal and replace this "thing"!! These are all Hitler enthusiasts!! They are trying to force his style of ruling on the people of the US, and Obama is standing flat-footed, in their faces; like a tree standing by a river, he shall not be moved!! GOD HAS HIS BACK!!!

Eric Cantor proudly stated that he and the Republican lead Congress will be working to repeal The Affordable Health Care Act. What I want to know is, why are the American people PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE FOR LIFE while you work to destroy ours??

    June 30, 2012 at 7:46 pm |
    • Frank Marshall Davis

Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer also get healthcare for life too yet I notice you don't even mention that, and Pelosi could buy both of us put together 100 times over. There are lot of multi millionaires in the house and senate yet you only seem to be concerned with one person. None of them need us paying for their healthcare. What drugs are you on?

I was stating what Eric Cantor proudly said. Put an aspirin between your knees, Frank, we know that's all the healthcare you'll need – just ask Foster Frieze.

I will agree with you that none of them deserve healthcare UNLESS the American people have it, too!! There, that wasn't so hard.

I agree with you Cynthia the first place they are all mouthing off and don't even understand the health care law there is something in it for everyone. The so called tax is a penalty for those who can afford health care but opt not to get it.
what they don't understand is everytime someone is treated in the emergency room without insurance we pay for them.

The Affordable Health Care law is good for everyone including small business the GOP and Conservaties are trying to mislead the public. Take time and read or ask questions instead of listening to the spend from the other side.

danithew,#127,I'm not talking about just the Israeli-Palestinian colnfict. The way Clinton handled Iraq wasn't very good. The way just about every president since 1980 has handled Iran has been abysmal. I know Ie2€™m wildly crazy to say so but overthrowing Saddam in Iraq wasne2€™t enough. My main regret with the war in Iraq is not torture, body counts, expended billions, etc., but rather that the neighboring Syrian Bae2€™athist regime remains.Really? Do you realize what Syria's Baathist regime holds down? Do you realize the kinds of extremists that live in Syria who would come to power if Assad's regime is overthrown? Assad is a moderate compared to those who could take power in Syria. Same thing goes with Saudi Arabia. Frankly, I wonder why you don't think the same of the Saud Royal Family, danithew. Tell me why you think they are NOT as extreme as Assad's family rule in Syria? Is it just because they are royal chumps with the Bushies?

No! They don't understand the "Healthcare" law!! Nor do they want to understand it!! They said to us and the world on the floor of the HOUSE,...I'm not reading it!! "Hell NO I ain't"!!! Per the House cry baby speaker, John Boehner. The real deal is if Obama had ANYTHING to do with it, it's automatically a "NO"!!! PERIOD!! It's EVIL at it's best!! It's TREASONOUS, at the least!! Talking about the people's donuts, messing up the lady's restaurant and breaking her keepsake, not wanting to speak with the "little people" although it was her restaurant. It was entertaining to see how people saw him for the uncaring person he is. What a fake and phoney. He has to get the Koch brothers to buy the election for him.

If Congress worked together for the good of the American people we would be better off. Period. But they don't, play little partisian games and blame it on us saying, "The American people have spoken.", whenever they want an excuse to get absolutely NOTHING DONE! I'd like to take that oversized gavel of Boehner's and whack him over the head with it. He is NOT a leader. A leader knows that every single Congressman there is representing the people who elected them and are not of the same party. DUH!! Now for the Republican candidate--
Mitt walking away from his accomplished Healthcare Reform – doesn't make sense. Using his time at Bain as touting his creditials as an outsourcer – doesn't make sense. Using the saving of the Winter Olympics when he used a government bailout to accomplish it – doesn't make sense. Giving interviews with only Fox News – doesn't make sense. The man doesn't make sense. So, how in the world are we to get a handle on why we should vote for him if all he stands for is NONSENSE??
Obama took on some very controversial ISSUES that were blocking our progress as a nation and took the heat for it from both sides of the aisle. But, at least he is trying to represent ALL of US. Which becomes a pretty tough task. We can be fractious and unruly BUT WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER and take the best ideas from ALL SIDES. – – –

It is sad when the only excuse you have for Obamas continual failures is Bush. That excuse is getting old as evident with the President making desperate campaign calls last Friday begging for donations, perhaps he needs to give Clooney or one of the other hollywood elite (the true 1%) and see if they can auction off getting a facial together.

Cynthia–your messiah in chief's funding plan–
"The White House says the request, placed on Thursday evening, was needed to secure funding for the current fiscal year and that it will be the last made in this form before the first Obama budget kicks in."

        Then one year later...http://www.wsws.org/articles/2010/mar2010/warf-m27.shtml

Now, that that's out in the open, the other half of the equation is what does it all mean. Bush running them "off the books" changed the DEFICIT (year by year number) not the DEBT. Articles jump between the two to confuse people into believing Bush is responsible for the DEBT being run up by Obama. IF, in fact, Obama had TRULY changed funding from "off the books" to "on the books" it would have only increased the DEFICIT numbers not the total DEBT his administration is responsible for.

Stop getting all your "facts" from the Huffing and Puffing post, Daily Kosmonot and others, and learn to critically read and think about what is being spewed. They distort, mislead, and outright lie for their cause as much as anyone out there.

I know you would like to forget Bush but, the rest of can't.
If you are soooo concerned about the money, how about asking ALL of the Republican goveronrs that took Stimulus Money and kept it HUSH-HUSH so the TEAPUBS wouldn't SQUAWK. They took credit for bringin' home the bacon, having their pictures taken with giant cardboard checks when it was American Taxpayer money to be used for JOBS!! Ask them about it, dearie. Or, is it tooooo inconvient to know the real story??
Start with Chris Christie and ask him why he used the money that WE GAVE HIM for building a new tunnel under the river to New York, to replace two hundred year old tunnels. He instead used the money to balance the deficit in New Jersey's Transportation Fund that was suppose to be funded by a gasoline tax the voters in New Jersey approved to pay for it. The Stimulus Money would have provided JOBS< JOBS< AND MORE JOBS!!
He either needs to use it for that OR GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!
As far as Obama being my messiah, kiddo, I don't kiss anyone's behind. If you think the consequences for the things Bush screwed up don't count well, I AM SOOOO NOT SURPRISED you are trying to wiggle out of your party's responsibility, JUST LIKE A REPUBLICAN TO BREAK IT..Remind me to NEVER TAKE YOU SHOPPING because you are the type of person that would damage something and BLAME IT ON SOMEONE ELSE!!

First of all the money "WE" gave Chris Christie..there lies the problem it is not YOUR nor Obamas $$ to "give" it may be a surprise to you it is the tax payers $$, which may not be something you can relate to.

I am not backing away from my party I just chose not to blame it on someone else. I guess it was so bad when Obama took office and he was just too incompetent or ill prepared to take on the job, so he signed up for it and cant do the job so he blames it on someone else, a true leader says I CANT DO IT..people would have more respect for that and perhaps he would get a few more dollars in pity donations.

CAN you read? OUR MONEY = AMERICAN TAXPAYERS. I would rather have a President who is attempting to HELP EVERYDAY AMERICANS WITH OUR MONEY to create JOBS. That's what it was for, or are you okay that a lot of Americans are out of work. And, if you don't want to abandon YOUR party BE HONEST that YOUR party started a war with a country that didn't attack us and lie about why we were doing it. Two wars TEN YEARS. How much do you think that cost and STILL is costing us? But, maybe you are okay that the Republicans in the House passed a Defense Budget for $8 BILLION DOLLARS MORE than the Defense Dept. asked for this year. Breaking a Tea Party backed Congress promise to cut defense spending over 10 yrs. THAT IS OUR MONEY! But, Ohhhhh, it's ALL this Presidfent's fault. YOU get YOUR facts straight.
Here is another on for you and your perfect party. Kentucky Republican, Harold Rogers, who is Chairman of the HOUSE Appropiantions Committee, added an earmark in 2009 BEFORE restrictions on such provisions, for a $16,000.00 DRIP PAN for Blawkhawk Helicopters from a Kentucky Co. called 'Phoenix Products' whose owners are political donors to the congressman and who was granted a NO-BID CONTRACT. Another company can make the same drip pan for $2,500.00. Can you defend that?

      Key word..tax PAYERS!

Bush..wars. Last I checked Gitmo is still open (broken obama promise) and we still have troops in Afghanistan. War, the ultimate Obama climbing on the backs of Bush and more importantly the SEALS to claim credit for Bin Laden, he did NOTHING. What a weasle, when you have to do a documentary on YOURSELF it is pretty sad, what an awful example of a leader.

The icing on your cheif, he sold the healthcare bill to the country as a "penalty" and he sold it to the supreme court as a tax either way he is a smarmy liar, and you can not blame BUSH for that one.

He will pay for that this November just like he paid in Nov 2010 when he crammed the healthcare bill down the countrys throat that didnt want it.

You're the obvious assumer...as I have not once touted Romney as "my favorite boy." By the way, try using that terminology with Obama and see what your Commerades call you! My top picks are not who you would ever suspect, nor, unfortunately, will they ever be. My number one picks would be Colin Powell and/or Petraeus because we need leadership, not empty speeches. My second picks would be Ron Paul and my probable vote of Gary Johnson because we need fiscal dicipline.

How tired and dizzy you, Jean and others must get from running your mouths, jumping to conclusions, spinning the truth and defending the very same actions of Obama you decried in Bush. It would be Laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Let me throw you a little fact. But, first I'm going to remind you of what you were bitchin' about Obama on the Colorado fires. Pretty much, according to you, he didn't show up (in your worldview and not in reality.)
Remember when the Firefighters, paramedics, police and volunteers were working at GROUND ZERO FOR MONTHS?? Your Republicans said that they didn't think we should have to pay for their healthcare after they started getting sick from the horrible burning mass of toxic crap that was all that was left of the World Trade Center. Especially sad, was the statement by Bush's Health and Safety Head that she deemed it safe to continue work there. It wasn't. They had to fight to get help and some of them died before it ever came. But, you seem to be cut from the same uncaring cloth as the Republicans in the House and the thought of those people who worked so bravely having to grovel for medical care was absolutely disgusting and I WILL NEVER FORGET IT!!
Ronald Reagan in his first term as President, decided that he wasn't going to fund research for Alzheimer's. Ironically, the man ended up dying from the disorder- had he had foresight maybe he would have saved not only himself but, so many others. He too, tried to cut corners.
You haven't GOT IT AT ALL. This country will only work if EVERYBODY shows up. That we 'ASK YOU' to pay for something – FOR ANYTHING- to help your fellow citizens and YOU THINK you have NEVER RECEIVED HELP from US – sort of tells me you are a sorry, piece of CR@P!. 'Cause WE HAVE SHOWN UP FOR YOU. EVERY FRIGGIN' DAY! SHAME ON YOU!

        July 3, 2012 at 2:04 am |
      • Cynthia L

Just a little while ago on another page about the Colorado fires, you were complaining that Obama hadn't shown up or, even cared the place was on fire. In your world – like you really care – but, not in reality. Or, is it, YOU want help whenYOU need it and to Hades to everyone else when they do.
Remember the hero Firefighters, paramedics, police, Port Authority and volunteers that worked NIGHT AND DAY FOR MONTHS at Ground Zero after 911? And, remember when Bush's Head of Health and Safety said that the air and conditions at the site were safe for the workers? They weren't. Tons of people who worked there became seriously ill. And, you know what YOUR PARTY said to them when they came to the government for help with their medical issues? "NO. We CAN'T afford to help you." And, when the Republicans finally relented to give them assistance it was already too late for some of the workers because they had already died.
Remember when Ronald Reagan in his first term shot down research for Alzheimers? He like to cut corners in important places to AND TAX. Ironically, the man died from the very disease that research may have helped him survive. Along with a lot of other folks.
If you think this country hasn't helpled you – you must live in a cave and never venture out. Sorry, you didn't get an education, drive on a road with pavement or even had the pleasure of eating food that wasn't contaminated.
If you think I will bellieve that YOU AND YOUR PARTY care about the residents, the firefighters and helo crews that are bravely facing and fighting Colorado's fires and are in Utah, and are in the Dakotas and are in Montana YOU ARE MISTAKEN because YOU DON"T and YOUR PARTY DOESN'T. The past actions of your party and your posts here, speak for themselves.

      • C-Lo

Cyndi...you, like all your ilk, misrepresent what I say...I couldn't care less if Obama shows up last week, next week, or ever in my back yard...my point is that you minions (you remind me of the little yellow guys on Dispicable Me) dance around the fact that Obama has done nothing more or less extraordinary than Bush, and so many of his "policies" and actions are nearly exactly how Bush conducted himself, yet you praise one and spit at the other. Why?

I am no great defender of Bush...he was as Democrat as they come, and as a matter of fact did NOT vote for his second term. Look at all the big gov't policies he put in place. You should be building great statues in his honor of NCLB, Medicare D, promising home affordability to all Americans...Liberal policies one and all.

In so far as the Obamacare fiasco, it is the completely wrong approach...trying to control costs through insurance vs. addressing the costs of the healthcare itself. The gov't is trying to swindle you into thinking we will all have Lexus healthcare plans while paying KIA insurance rates. The truth is that we will end up with Lexus insurance rates and GM care. Why do you think they had to collect taxes on this monstrosity for 10 years while the "benefits" are only for 6? It was the only way the numbers came out favorably from the CBO, who only project out 10 years. After that it's not Obama's problem anymore, it's our kids' and grandkids' problem in trying to pick up the pieces and "afford" what will soon be known as the Unaffordable Healthcare Act. Just like Social Security has provided social insecurity. Gov't FAILS over and over again, and all they do is point fingers back and forth and suck suckers into the fray. Stop crying for gov't to bail you out.

What doesn't make the national news, because Obama can't be "credited" is that a huge grass fire broke out on the plains during the Waldo Canyon Fire and the ranchers, volunteer fire departments and townspeople pulled together to battle and extinguish the fire...they are Self Sufficient, they don't need to wait around for gov't to save them.

What doesn't make the national news is the outpouring of "local" support from indviduals and businesses who have provided massive amounts of aid and relief through independent non-profit organizations (Salvation Army, Red Cross, etc.)

What doesn't make the national news is the resiliency of these communities who pull together.

Hmm, my past actions and posts show I don't care??? That's laughable. I have no need for gov't telling me what it thinks is important...telling me what and how to think, who to support and how to provide to my community. You have no idea the time, talents and resources I provide and I don't owe you or your ilk an explination. If you want to receive from me come to my door and ask, stop hiding behind the gestapo gov't you so love to come pounding on my door demanding I give to you.

My PARTY??? You don't know what you're talking about–my "party" is not the Republican party, just like your's is not the Democrat Party–I am guessing you are a registered Socialist.

You and Jean are so busy waiting for Gov't to take care of you, you produce nothing and leach off those of us who do. That big sucking sound you hear is DC saying "gimme gimme gimme" so we can buy the votes of people like Cynthia L.

Oh, you libs love to group what ARE basic gov't functions in with all your socialist programs. I've got another one for you...everyone has to eat, right? Let's socialize all food stores. All goods and services must move from point a to point b, let's socialize all transportation, we all have to breath, let's put a tax the air we use. Those with asthma receive lower taxes because they use less air.

We absolutely should be helping those who were sickened at Ground Zero...let's take the money from the welfare state of people who are able but unwilliing to work. Oh, sorry, does that cut into your benefits?

Of course you use terms like "piece of..." and resort to name calling–sign of a true Progressive/Liberal, when losing the argument of ideology and fact, resort to childish name calling (and yes there are some on the isle opposite you who do it as well). Lets see if we can name a few, Teabagger (bet the gay community loves being associated with a right wing movement), Republitard, racist, hater, teatard, now we can add "piece of..." to your never-ending sophmoric name calling...now lets jump to the other side, Demorats, Obummer, Libertards...

Now that we have that out of the way, would you like to DEFEND YOUR STANCE rather than name call to make you feel better? Oh yeah, that's the other sign of a true Liberal, don't care what the consequences of the actions are as long as "it makes you FEEL better."

What the heck, I think I'll just go ahead and give you a little preview of the article.
The Daily Beast carries a Vanity Fair report about Mysterious Magical Mitt. Here goes, and I quote them.

A full 55 pages for his 2010 tax return are devoted to reporting his transactions with "foreign entities".
Jack Blum, a veteran Washington lawyer and offshore expert says "..this stuff is weird."
A $3 Million Swiss Bank account appeared in the 2010 returns, then winked out of existence in 2011.
Ed Kleinbard, a professor tax law at the Univ. of So. Calif. says the Swiss acoount 'has political but not tax-policy resonance' since it – like many other Romney investments – constituted a BET AGAINST THE U.S. DOLLAR, an odd thing for a presidential candidate to do. Also, he uses tax-havens in Bermuda, Luxenborg and the Caymen Islands.
Andrea Saul, Romney's campaign spokeswoman, says that the candidate's failure to include his Swiss account in earlier financial disclosures was merely a "trivial inadvertent issue".
The article goes on to how Mitt probably made millions in his 401K. How he uses his lawyer as the guy who moves the money around between he and his wife and all over the place (like Panama)to make it hard to track and to be deceitful, using insider trading, tax-evasion loopholes that are borderline legal and maybe even illegail and using the SAME CHANNELS that the most corrupt criminals, thieves, traffers and lowlifes use.

So, now we have a candidate who is enriching himself at the cost of his country's citizens. Would he "MAKE THINGS HAPPEN" as president, so as to enrich himself further – like TAPPING THE U.S. TREASURY. CHA-CHING!! HE IS SOOOOO PUSHING DEREGULATION OF THE FINANCIAL MARKETS!! Wow, can see where this is headed if that happens. Yeah, he LOVES FREEDOM – WAHOO!!

B!tch about Mitt all you want, doesn't hurt my feelings, I've already told you that, but keep wasting your time with that rhetoric. You act like no one on the left has done anything to profit from their "control" of the hill...they all invest in companies they know will receive your taxes as "investment." Look up what Gore, Kerry, Pelosi, Reid, et. al. have done. I disagree with it from BOTH SIDES of the isle but the more we give gov't control, the more opportunities they have to profit from the redistribution of your wealth. You are a FOOL if you don't believe your "bleeding hearts" in Congress don't do the same thing.

Why did Obama write the books he wrote? He is CAPITALIZING on his position as POTUS. Why couldn't he wait until AFTER he was out of office? Couldn't make ends meet on a POTUS Salary?

Obama wrote his books before he was president. The Congress and the Senate both parties have benefited from insider trading and a bunch of us squawked about it on the blogs and it was covered by different news sources. It IS shameful. No matter who does it, it is wrong. I have said so to different candidates face to face in my district and said that to treat America like that is NOT JUST ILLEGAL IT"S WRONG – I'll keep barking up their trees about that. You, do it too.

Don't know how you believe you were correct in calling me a "Rush's Babe" as I haven't listened to him in over a decade. But part of your assumptive nature and part of the psychodelic glass world you seem to reside. Again, defend your stance that Obama is any different in his responses than Bush.
Defend your stance that I should have to work 50-60 hours a week to pay the taxes to those who choose not to.
Defend your stance that I have reaped more than I planted.
Defend your stance that gov't (i.e. joe taxpayer) owes YOU.
Defend your stance that Mitt is my "boy."
Defend your stance that gov't does better than free markets.
Defend your stance that people are not self sufficient–i.e. you don't believe in the human spirit.
Defend your party's stance that we are not moving toward socialist Communism.

And do try to attack the message and not the messenger...if you can.

      C. Lo, name calling doesn't work when anyone does it.
Like saying that Obama's supporters think (and I am quoting you here)-
Obama is a Modern day Moses, Messiah-in-Chief who (according to you) is a false prophet who uses NAZI style tactics, and runs a Gestapo government and his followers are true racists, comrades, Communists, Socialists, Idiots, weak-willed, weak-minded, Death Tax supporters and hint-hint baby-killers.
I am not a Democratic I'm an Independent. I hate the things like the Bush Tax Cuts for the Rich that were extended by Obama. I hate that Wall Street was not even given more than a tap instead of a slap to the side of the head and the guilty, who were responsible for the greatest meltdown in our history, weren't thrown in jail. That Jamie Dimons J.P. Morgan Chase is screwing around again, fiddling while his cohorts lost maybe up to 9 Billion Dollars and that the Conservatives in Congress were fawning over him and giving him the benefit of the doubt while hoping we won't get the proper regulations on the casino that financial institutions are pushing for. Thanat the U.S./Isreal dynamic is NANNY STATE relationship. I hate that Obama gave in to the NRA and now concealed weapons are allowed in our Nat'l Parks.
I hate that The Affordable Health Care Act did not go far enough. I am responsible for myself but the insurance companies aren't doing a great job of doing that responsible thing. Check out the CEO salaries.
I hate that women don't make the same salary as a man doing the same work. I do not blindly support Obama and the Dems but I truly feel the Republicans are running a candidate for President who is way past my comfort zone. And, I know that you don't agree with some of the things I've listed as my dislikes, either.

Now, I have a serious question that I asked before though, not from you. If you support Ron Paul as you say, why aren't you taking issue with the RNC who was happy to royally screw Paul in the states that he won? I was p.o.'d about that but apparently all is okie-dokey?? I am hoping that Ron Paul rips them a new,...you know what, over that. But, his supporters, what, where are they? Are they planning a rally to protest the dissing, cheating attempts that Ron Paul suffered. I hope so. Because what will happen is that the high honchos who are pushing tor that 'boy-not a man' Romney will just roll over everything Paul was saying at the debates – like it didn't matter.
I listened to every one of the debates and I wished Paul had had more time than some of the other candidates. He was straight-forward and you knew where he stood 'cause he said so, AND he added so much to the conversation which I loved because it caused everyone to wiggle uncomfortably.
But, the RNC was in control and Romney got picked. The news channels focused on Romney and I know you don't watch MSNBC – but, Rachel Maddow was ALL-OVER the story of the RNC trying to take Paul's wins and give them to Romney. TWICE, in two different news segments. I did not hear about it anywhere else like she laid it out AND she was asking WTF!
Since you say you are NOT a Rush fan, I won't call you his BABE anymore.
But, it looks like we all have some work to do to get this country on track and not get distracted. But, seriously, your favorite candidate was steam-rolled and you should be shouting at the top of your lungs about it.

Cynthia–I'll try to address this as concise as possible:
        1. It was, in fact, Liz Carter who called Obama a "modern day Moses," and I take issue with that moniker which is exactly led to my description of Messiah in Chief, and in equating Obama to Moses, my comment about false prophets as she invoked Biblical passages about warnings from God and the current percieved omens.
        2. I have clarified my claims of Nazism in terms of Obamacare being a nationalistic, forced participation in a specific type of commerce (part of the fabric of Nazism), and my claims of his followers being Communistic in nature, I have previously provided the speech from Lenin in 1918 that contains the same "calling" we are hearing from the OWS movement–these are both extreme forms of Socialism, so by my observations, this is accurate
        3. I have explained my stance on why I believe the leftist policies in this country equate to racism, rather than throwing the term out because someone disagrees with my political viewpoint
        4. It is, in fact, the left that supports the Death Tax and no hint-hint, the murdering of babies. I used to be much softer on this second point, and it is not from a religious standpoint by which I have have hardened on this (though it has some influence) but the fact that most abortions are performed against children whose parents made poor choices and not from criminal activity. We have to live with so many other choices we make (good and bad), but we shrug our shoulders at the thought of ending an innocent life. I am willing to concede as far as the "morning after" pill, but not that horrible sucking sound that accompanies treating a fetus like lint on the carpet.
        5. Weak-willed? You bet...people who ask for more and more gov't to prop them up rather than making it on their own. And this holds true for the business owning swindlers who control the gov't puppets as well.
6 Idiots–yes, anyone who believes anyone in DC is less corrupt(able) than the next guy or gal, and that the Dems don't do the exact same things they accuse the Republicans of doing (just maybe different industries or special interests) is a fool. If we have smaller gov't and consequently smaller gov't influence, the less is to be had by all of the corrupt.
        7. Rarely, if ever, (unless maybe I'm in a particularly punchy mood) will you find me using childish monikers like Republitard or DemoRat.

As far as the Ron Paul saga. He is unfortunately not electable for a variety of reasons (as Gen's Powell and Petraeus are not either). This country has moved from leadership to politicing for it's Commander in Chief. It has been said before, leave the politics to the politicians...in other words leave this to Congress. Yelling at the top of my lungs is not nearly as effective as other tactics. Ron Paul's switch to run for the Republican nominaton was the best option for those of us who believe like he does. As an individual who was able to garner a national audience through participation in the debates, he was able to open those doors and let the "establishment" know that there is a significant number of voters who believe in holding both sides of the isle accountable to us (though not as much as we would have liked). My bigger concern is that the Republican Party re-embraces these policies and moves back to where I wish it was. There are Republican Reps and Sens who do hold these ideals, and I hope they continue to stand thier ground and lead rather than succumb to the changes we have been seeing.

In John Robert's writing on the decision of NFIB vs. Sebelius, he says that Obamacare is constitutuional under the innumerated power of Congress to levy and collect taxes. While I disagree politically, the arguments are sound, and essentially say we as voters are responsible for the actions of our gov't. I hope his sentament is understood by the American populace, because we have seen the fallout of voting against rather than for something, which also explains the quick turnaround in the 2010 elections.

From a reply I left for Jean on Obama in Cleveland (see below)...go to the website and read what Lenin has to say. If it doesn't sound immediately familiar to the OWS and other leftist groups, you have your head in the sand. I dare you to read the speeches and rhetoric from Lenin and Marx. If you agree with their positions, then by all evidence, you lend yourself to Socialist-Communist beliefs. It's not name calling (i.e. Teabagger), it is an observation that your comrades have subscribed to this ideology long before you or I were born, and have laid the groundwork for the rhetoric we hear today. If you don't agree with Lenin's views, then denounce them and embrace a free society. Either way you choose, I will continue to call attention to the FACT that these ideologies are, indeed, Socialist-Communism.

And I 'm sure this is exactly what his campaign managers were thinking when they picked the slogan "forward" I had meant to reply with http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1918/aug/x01.htm instead of reposting below, but you and your comrades need to read this closely, as I think you will recognize a lot of the rhetoric in it. If this does not open your eyes and chill you to the bone as a freedom loving American, then my "labeling" you as a Commie is a lot closer to the truth than you will ever admit!

Okay, this is one post of yours that kinda goes along with another one of your previous posts.
If you label me as a Commie then, YOU ARE 'RUSH'S BABE AND A REPUBLICAN TOOL TO BOOT
(Although, if Colin Powell ran on the Repulican ticket I would be swayed in his direction but, the Republicans don't treat him very well, so bad that I don't even think he calls himself a republican. Petraeus doesn't want the job.)

Lenin was a frickin' freak. I DON"T FLY THE RED FLAG – mine is the RED-WHITE and BLUE.

I don't give Lenin much of a thought, and I don't see anyone thinking about him BUT the Evangelicals, and the Conservatives (Conservative is such a wrong LABEL for you folks) because I would rather think about my fellow citizens – like the Firefighters fighting the fires, the crews trying to get power to the millions going without after these last storms and worrying about my niece and the other residents of Florida after the flooding of Tropical Storm Debbie. I ESPECIALLY think of my sons and relatives in the military and their friends serving as well.

HINT: When the Tea Party folks wear teabags dangling from their hats they shouldn't be surprised that someone came up with the name 'teabaggers'. You lost me about the gay people thing – I have no clue as to what you are talking about.
I already live in a FREE SOCIETY although I do pay taxes for things I don't like (WHICH I FEEL FREE to bitch about) and for things I do (that I will defend) and that is the price I pay for living around a bunch of other people in a place called a country. I FEEL FREE EVERY DAY.
    A) Working in the vegetable/fruit/herb garden. B) Sewing on items donated to the Children's hospitals that give long-term care for cancer patients. C.) Hanging my laundry out on the clothesline while drying my hair in the sun D.) Reading the news stories from FREE PRESS on my computer (Although, my computer is old and putts out alot) E.)Washing my dishes by hand (although I know that would kill some folks) F.) Preparing things that get separated into the re-cycle-compost bins. G.) Working on projects to help support myself after my employer downsized and give some relief to my sons such as the things I make or things I can purchase to show I am there for them.
H.) I help my neighbors and try to employ the out of work ones with projects that they help me with – like painting up high, trimming the trees and maintenence things like plumbing. I have also been known to help them with their cattle, horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats AND fish.
I love my country and have lived in the MOST AMAZING PLACES and met some of the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE.
I don't worry about Mao (although I used to when they made us do nuclear attack drills at school) And, LENIN?? Oh, boy, hon, you are a little off the rails here. I don't know any commies, but, I'm pretty sure I've met some Nazi's although, thank God, they are usually the people everyone else avoids – weirdos. I'm wondering if Rupert is one though. Now, that guy has an agenda – But hey, he's taking Free Speak for granted – just like you and me.
I have met racists. They ARE EVERYWHERE.

I'm sorry to hear you don't give much thought to Lenin/Marx, and my guess is probably not others like Hitler either. "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." The frightening thing is that that the rhetoric we hear today from those on the far left, who are gaining more and more sympathizers in DC is straight out of the Lenin/Marx ideology. I don't know if you took the time to read this or any of his other remarks, he discusses ad naseum the evils of capitalism and the need for the working class to stand up against them and bring in leaders who will end capitalism (i.e. the 99% against the 1% in today's PC environment).

You spend to much too much time in AnoRexella Van Impe land. I personally saw a handful of people giving out Communists literature at, of all places – THE IOWA STATE FAIR! Does that mean that Iowans are Commies? That their State Fair should be shut down for subversive 'Freedom of Speech'? But, you point to OWS and say they were Commies and Socialists when most of those folks were there to protest the wild casino Wall Street and Capitalism just for Capitalisms sake and had everything to do with robbery of us suckers of the world. And yes, there are always going to be a few Commies and Nazi's passing out literature at places where people congregate. I have never seen anyone follow them home.
Why don't you fight the good fight against the MONEY CHANGERS?? You waste your life worrying about WORDS. Well, I have a word for you. It's TWINKIE!!

My view is that the general population in Iraq though it is still currently afflicted by Islamist groups is still able to breathe a easier with Saddam removed. However controversial it might be to say I think Iraq is doing better now than it was before and has much better chance in the future than it ever did when Saddam was in power. I think the same analogy would apply to Syria. I am absolutely certain that the general population of Syria (and for that matter, Lebanon) would be better off if the Ba'athist regime in Syria were overthrown and replaced with a more democratic system.
