Running from the president's coattails

, ,

It's a big question in this year's election: can Democrats hang onto control of the U.S. Senate.
North Dakota is one of those key Senate races and the Democratic nominee is making no secret that she wants to distance herself from President Obama and his policies.
White House correspondent Dan Lothian reports from Bismarck, North Dakota.

Why don't you just leave the democratic party then?

. He kind of forgot to say those bold, itzieclaid words up there, and thereby bore false witness. The last time I read Exodus 20, I don't recall seeing any provisions regarding lying that lets high government officials off the hook when they make up stuff that they're attempting to put before people in order to justify killing bunches of other sons and daughters of God (as if that's even possible). One might think that, given examples in the Book of Mormon of how the Lamanites were stirred up to war because their leaders lied to them, it might cause one to understand that doing so in this modern day, or attempting to justify having done so after the fact, is probably not a good idea. And no amount of weasel-wording will cause statements like those to be regarded merely as errors or blunders. They were flat out lies. The absolute best case one can make is that those telling us these lies were fooled themselves. But then, that would make these people, who are supposed to be the smartest people in the nation to handle this kind of information and intelligence just plain incompetent. People at the top of the decision chain are expected (or should be expected) to be held accountable for their mistakes. Why would anyone want to justify or defend someone for being grossly incompetent? It boggles the mind. Well, not Karl Rove's.Ie2€™m referring to those of us who uphold (expressly on tacitly) the laws of the various states in the US that make US citizenship a requirement for voting.Oh, I see. You're simply interested in upholding and sustaining the election laws, and no criticism of the foreign asshats who would rather see Obama elected President was intended on the basis of their preference.Uh huh.

Most importantly, This President has his heart in the middle class, that means you and me.

The GOP has his heart in $$$$, his residency in Cayman Island, and bank account in Swiss. Romney is a joke, a Foreign UFO

Where were you in November 2008 when Bush managed to lose 800,000 jobs each and every month ???? !!!!!!!

      July 6, 2012 at 1:04 pm |
      • Jay in NC

We did not lose 800,000 each and every month. Typical liberal spin. Unwilling to look at and face the facts.

Take a look at this chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It clearly shows that President Bush's unemployment numbers years were very good. I would bet that Obama would swap any of his months for any of President Bush's.

okay Jay, I did as you asked, in August of 2008 alone, the job losses for that month were 660K+.....sooooooo what am I missing, which GOP portal did you get your Labor stats from again?????

Will Obama be the only Dem politician at the DNC National Convention? Let's see, they shortened the convention, then they abolished their opening day spectacular at Charlotte Motor Speedway. At the rate they are going, they'll be able to hold it in a hotel room!

Apparemtly, the Democrats think that if they say the economy and unpmleoyment rates are getting better loud enough and often enough it will become the truth. And they may have some justification for this idea. After all, that's how they drove the economy into the toilet in the first place. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have grasped that destroying an economy by claiming the sky is falling is a lot easier than re-building an economy in ruins. Just saying it's getting better isn't likely to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Obamacare, no jobs, F+F, billions lost on green energy and a candidate running against him that has been successful at everything he has done. Why would anyone wonder why people running for office would shun this guy?

800,000 per month for all of 2008? Man you are crazy. That would equal 9,600,000 jobs! Get real, take the time to see the facts for your self and stop with the Liberal spin.

2008 was a good year compared to any year with Obama.

Romney took a deficit in MA and left the state with a surplus. He took over when the state was last in job creation and left it up 15 notches. In contrast, Obama has increased deficits, debt and unemployment (even with a democratically controlled congress for 2 years).

I think Presidents get to much Credit and Blame with the Exception of W he eanred a lo of the heat he got by starting two wars and giving a tax cut at the same time. In Obamas case, i'm really tired of people on both sides making this either Pro Obama or Anit Obama, its goes back to Congress and the minute these losers start losing seats the better. Rush Limbaugh cried out he wanted this President to Fail and in turn this country to fail. Take a blow Limabaugh and Hannity followers and rejoice in all the negative press but what gets lost is the decades of bad policy, the fact that voters are throwing incumbents congressional folks skates after twenty to thirty years in office. It is easy to see we have a lot of people who are uneasy with a black president but understand this he has more in common with you than any other president weve had from an economical standpoint. Understand this Rush and Hannity serve other masters mainly the Rich and Romney well you don't know what you get from week from week to week. Is Obama perfect no, has he made mistakes yes but hes done a good job and he's had it Harder than W or any other recent president. At the very least respect the office of the President. People from all over the world come to this site and its embarrassing how you people treat the office and in turn our country. Stop Celebrating when we lose as country and remember that a lot of the people who wrote this policy are stil in office and a lot of them have been in office since the president was in Diapers

They all do it when it benefits them. If she does get elected then you can bet she'll embrace Obama. They're all opportunists and think voters don't remember the things they say.

I remember when Republican, Sharon Angle from Nevada say folks would resort to second amendment remedies if she wasn't elected. She wasn't elected – guess she shouldn't of said that.

This movie is like a trailer. It uses the same fahlsy editing, ominous music and promising an exciting reveal. The reveal never comes though. I watched the whole thing and there was no Obama Deception. Just a bunch of noise. Please, go ahead and watch this movie. Tell if you hear anything concrete at all.
