Romer: Obama's not to blame for female unemployment

,

Boston (CNN) – One of the president's former top economic advisers said those who blame President Barack Obama's policies for the decline in job creation among women in particular are being dishonest.

"That's someone trying to lie with numbers," Christina Romer said Wednesday.

The former chairperson of the Council of Economic Advisers said the disparity between men and women, recently seized upon by Republicans, is the result of repercussions from the economic downturn beyond the president's control.

Please tell me, when does Obama take responsibility for anything that has gone wrong on his watch. I am so tired of you people not placing the blame where it belongs..........right at Obama's feet. It is about time he owns up for the mess he has gotten us in. November cannot come soon enough....time for him to go back to Chicago.

I guess their polls told them the American People are sick and tired of them blaming Bush. Now they will try something else and see if it sticks... Kind of like how they handle the economy, Obamacare, handing out money, etc... But the libs will follow blindly and we will hear how "nobody could have fixed any of the problems Obama faced". What a sad excuse for leadership...

You are right in some areas, but still, there is no comparison between Obama and the GOP led by tea party, to whom ROmney is pandering to. Obama is any day a better leader, intelligent person who deliberates what is best for the country and makes a long term decision. He does have his own union lobby and others, but again nowhere near the corrupt Koch and similar minded people who want to own more of American (all under the guise of capitalism)...enough is enough.

I agree, there is no comparison, One wants to tax and spend and ignore what they are doing to the economy and the American People while the other wants to get a handle on the problems of THIS COUNTRY. You can decide who are the lib dems and who are the Tea party people.
Obama is clueless – take the Bush tax cuts – Obama said it was the worst thing for America and they needed to be done away with. He also said raising taxes in this bad economy was not the right thing to do. He is now for the majority of the Bush tax custs and he has raised taxes by billions with Obamacare and he wants to tax more on top of that by letting the Bush tax cut expire for those over 250K. How could anyone that loves America think of voting for this guy again? The idea of Obama being president was a good one at the time, but that time has passed.

And what exactly is your evidence for Obama being "a better leader?"

Is it the millions of jobs we've lost since he took office?
Is it the largest budget deficit in human history?
Is it the largest increase in health care costs in history?
Is it getting our credit rating downgraded for the first time ever?
Is it setting the record for the largest number of Americans in poverty and on food stamps?
Is it running guns to Mexican drug cartels?
Is it the worst environmental disaster in US history?
Is it him showing no interest in the good of the American people?

Who are more corrupt than Chicago politicians. LOL.....Give me a break. Obama is a typical Chicago politician ....there is no honesty there. Ask him how he first got his Senate seat in Chicago using dirty politics against another black politician!!!!!

Romer is the one who sold the stimulus and continually kept pleading that "we just have to wait a little longer". It was proved to be a $1 trillion lie wrapped in deception. She lied then so you know she's lying now.

That's right, he doesn't do anything wrong. He take credit for "a step in the right direction" despite such poor employment figures, but he can't take the blame for how women have been disproportionately hurt in this recession. His Justice Department claims Hispanics are disenfranchised by asking for an ID to vote, but women aren't hurt by Obama's policies that aren't helping them get work?

He's black, he's the President, he's been successful in spite of the racist do nothing rethugs and all the lieing and name calling will not change the facts. So get over it!

Given your post, you seem to be a racist. Do you think he would have been elected if he were not black? If you do your post doesn't make sense. BTW, what do you think he has been successful at? He seems to have a nice personality, he can give a good speech if he reads it from a teleprompter, but what he is best at is campaigning. None of these traits will help this country get better.

If he is doing so good then why is his approval below 50%? Let me guess, it's racism.

@John please stop spamming this board. Are you people really that Ignorant ? Blame a president in office for three years when weve had folks in congress for 30 years. Rewind o 2008 800,000 jobs lost, Housing Market Crashing, Auto Industry Failing, Banks failing and you think some one can come in and fix this in 3 years. You think you can blame him ? He didn't create this mess, it took a long time and a lot of hard work to sink the ship. All Obama did is try to plug holes, Please stop repeating talking points and TV ads it shows how ignorant some of you people are, taxes are at a 30 year low. Obama has made no attempts to take change any gun laws. Electing a black president doesn't show that there is no racism how you treat him and the office is the true indication. All the lies, hate mongering, the way he gets treated by congress I have never witnessed a another president endure this kind of abuse. Sorry but there is no expiration date on blaming bush or the RNC, there is not expiration date on bad policy. They took over with a surplus, they took over with percent unemployment. Read more sources than Drudge and Fox News and educate yourselves, its just sad because you idiots repeat everything they say like parrots

Let's cue up the violins for Obama, he's just a poor victim. Nothing is his fault yet at the same time let's do cartwheels for all the good things he may or may not have acoomplished. Keep dreaming lefty.

Phil, what color am I? You are a complete idiot and a racist.
Also, I understand you are a lib and libs think they can dictate what other people HAVE TO DO. But you can't. I will post where I want.
Have you ever worked a day in your life? Leaders lead, they do not make excuses. I can freely admit Bush was a bad president (and every key indicator was better with Bush in office than it is now). Why can't you admit Obama is in way, way over his head? Instead you say what? Things were very bad when he got in? He is not to blame for anything? Other people caused the mess that nobody could fix? Those are the talking points from MSDNC – and yes, I watch MSDNC every day for a good laugh – it is a toss up between Schultz and Sharpton as to who is more of a joke. You talk about Fox? These two I just mentioned are not in the class of anyone at Fox, including the libs I watch on there EVERY DAY.
There is no exparation date on bad policy and Obamacare will hurt this country from now until it is done away

One more thing Phil, you need to go back and read about that "surplus" talking point. There was no money – it was a "forecasted surplus".

So wait. He says if your a business owner, you didn't make that. Hinting that government or some job creator made that. But, if your business fails, its not his fault or the job creators fault, but your own. So, if you are successful, yay Obama made that happen. If you fail, pitty you.
