POTUS visits the Commonwealth of VirginiaThe President spends Friday the 13th campaigning in the Commonwealth of Virginia where the latest polling shows he has a slight lead over Republican Candidate Mitt Romney among registered voters. As of early June, Obama was the choice of 47% of Virginians, while 42% favored Romney. The two day tour called a Vision for Virginia’s Middle Class by the campaign includes stops in Virginia Beach, Hampton and Roanoke. At the President’s first stop in Virginia Beach, he will focus among other things on his plan to extend the middle class tax cut that expires at the end of the year. Why don't we simply make it 6 years, 1 term for a sitting president. Obama has basically spent two years on Healthcare and two years campaigning. No matter who gets in next time, this problem should be fixed.

I agree. The Constitution should be amended to where a president serves only 1 6 year term. I believe Congress should have term limits too. I member of the House of Reps should be able to serve at least 10 years in the House and a Senator should serve a 4 year term for at least 2 terms. The president can get stuff done and not be in campaign mode all the time. People need to push for it. Or let the president serve one 8 year term, but when the fourth year is up let the Congress vote to give him or her a vote of confidence like they do in the parliamentary system in England. If two-thirds of the Congress give the president a no-confidence vote in January of his or her fourth year, then an election will be held in November with two new candidates for president.

Frank .. don't you know anything at all about Unions? Apparently not! Unions are made up of workers! Unions are started in each factory, each school, each place of work. Each place has to begin their Union. Get it? Later, there were higher ups elected to take on the more complicated things to do with lawyers and paperwork that the workers don't understand. They are all working together, have been since Unions began in the 30's, mainly because the workers of factories got really tired of being stepped on and treated like dirt simply because they were trying to make a living. The workers are the Unions!
That's why President Obama works for the Unions .. the workers of every class, every work force .. schools, factories, coal miners ......
He works for union MONEY that comes from involuntary dues. Go drink some more kool-aid and polish your hammer & sickle. Unions are a very small part of the entire work force, I'm not in one because I prefer to negotiate for myself rather than pay someone else to do it. Public sector unions have bankrupted at least 4 cities now and that's just the beginning, you know there'll be more to follow, but go ahead and keep singing Obama hymns while the debt keeps piling up.
The Veep's home town of Scranton, Pa. for one. The Dem mayor is working to place public sector workers on minimum wage in order to save the city. Yet not a peep on this from the Veep! I wonder why? The liberal experiment has failed! Stockton and San Bernadino, Ca. has gone bankrupt while under liberal control. The Cali legislature has been under Dem control since 1970. The Senate for the last 42 or 42 years and the lower house 40 of the last 42 years!

what am I missing here? the privete sector keeps adding jobs. not as much as we like it to be but still its on the pluse side. now in the public sector we are losing jobs.why are we losing these jobs now? what is causing this job lose? I have to give the man that is making jobs happen with no help from his opponents or his own party my VOTE!
The loss of public sector jobs is because of retirement packages negotiated by the unions and politicians. They thought the gravy train would go on forever but eventually the bill comes due and no amount of raising taxes will make up for it. California is the shining example.

I support President Obama, but with disappointment. I was under no illusion that his presidency was going to be extremely properous because of poitical, cultural, economic forces that he could not control. Obama was fool if he believe that his policy would be supported by the Democratic party because the Democratic party cannot govern and cannot maintain their governing coalition. Obama could not depend on Republicans to embrace a sense of compromise with his agenda because they obstructionist and want him to fail.
